Mum of missing Cole Cooper pleads for 'boy wearing puffer jacket' to come forward
Wendy Stewart has issued a desperate plea for a boy seen wearing a puffer jacket on the night he vanished to come forward, as police continue a major search across Falkirk.
The mum of missing teen Cole Cooper has pleaded for a boy wearing a 'puffer jacket' on the night he was last seen to come forward, as his family continues their search for answers.
Wendy Stewart made a public appeal on Thursday, asking the boy to come forward.
The mum said the boy was seen walking with another male from Longcroft towards Bonnybridge in Falkirk on Wednesday, May 7. Police say this is the day Cole was last seen at around 8.45pm on the A803 at the intersection with Cumbernauld Road.
Mum Wendy said: 'I am pleading for the young boy that was seen on Wednesday May 7, who was wearing a puffer jacket, to please come forward to me.
'You are not in trouble, but I am begging you to come forward so that, as a family, we can rule out events of that evening.
'This boy with the puffer jacket was walking from Longcroft towards Bonnybridge with another male.

'So if you both can come forward — you will be helping a family that is distraught and wants answers, and wants to rule out specific events that took place on that evening.
'You can message me directly. Thank you.'
Her emotional appeal comes one day after detectives revealed that the 19-year-old had asked a school friend for a lift at that time.
Cole was last seen by his family on May 2 or May 3 and was captured on CCTV at around 6am on May 4 in Longcroft, Falkirk, after unsuccessfully trying to access his father's house following a party in Denny.
Several days later, on the evening of May 7, he was seen again by a friend when he asked for a lift.
He was reported missing by his family two days later, on May 9. According to police, the school friend said there were no concerns about Cole's welfare on May 7 and that he was not given a lift.
Cole is described as around 5ft 10ins tall, of medium build, with short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black puffer-style jacket and black jogging bottoms. Detectives said the investigation remains a missing person's inquiry, not a criminal probe.
A major search has included helicopters, divers, digital and financial investigators, and analysis of 1,000 hours of CCTV footage, alongside door-to-door enquiries at more than 220 homes.

Family of missing Scots man in Portugal plead for locals to check cameras
Greg Monks disappeared after being separated from pals in the party resort of Albufeira in the Algarve on Tuesday night. The family of a missing Glasgow man who vanished on a stag do in Portugal have launched a desperate plea to locals to check private CCTV and doorbell footage. Greg Monks disappeared after being separated from pals in the party resort of Albufeira in the Algarve on Tuesday night as he headed back to their apartment on the first night of the trip. The 38-year-old was reportedly last seen on CCTV in the residential area of Cerro de Aguia, around four miles away from the main club and bar strip where he spent the night with pals. His last sighting was between Tuesday evening and the early hours of Wednesday morning. Now sister Jillian Monk has called on locals in the Cerro de Aguia area to search their own private cameras and any available ring doorbell footage. Jillian has taken to a Facebook page for expats and holidaymakers to ask if any residents living in the vicinity can help search for her brother. "I am now seeking help from residents of the Cerro de Aguia area to please check any home cameras or doorbell footage around 2am and 5am as police believe he was in the area around this time! "Please share this is you know anyone in the camera. If you have cameras that covers parts of the streets send me a message with your name and phone number." Portuguese police carrying out the search have scoured local hospitals during their attempts to trace Greg. Greg reportedly checked in with his pals at the Novochoro Apartments, a tourist resort consisting of 31 units, shortly before he went missing. The Apartments is said to be just a 15 minute walk to the main strip. However, the apartments are around four miles from Cerro de Aguia where Greg was last spotted - with Cerro de Aguia around the same distance from the strip. The stag do was due to fly back today after arriving on Tuesday to party in the popular sunshine spot. Jillian first raised the alarm that Greg had not been seen in a frantic social media post on Thursday. She said: "My brother has not been seen since Tuesday evening. If you are currently there and have any information place contact me with any info.' Last night we told how a fundraiser has been launched to help with the search efforts. Greg's dad has reportedly cut short a holiday in Spain to travel across the border to search for his son. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Gillian McCallum who set up the fundraiser on behalf of his distraught family said: 'Our son Greg Monks went to Portugal for a stag do on Tuesday May 27 and on the first night back out there he never returned to his hotel and has now been missing for three days. 'We are desperately seeking Greg's safe return and need your help. 'There are professional search teams out looking for Greg and the family have all flown out to try to help find him but don't know how long their stay will be. 'They are doing everything they can. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference in our efforts to bring Greg home. Thank you for your support and prayers.' More than £12,000 has been raised to help fund the search. Bar manager wins £10k after she was sacked for checking CCTV over claims of 'spiking'
Sophie Marsh was sacked on the spot for CCTV footage after receiving a report of a suspected spiking incident. A bar manager has won nearly £10,000 in compensation after she was unfairly sacked for checking CCTV footage for evidence of a "spiking" incident. Sophie Marsh, from Mauchline in East Ayrshire, worked at S altcoats Labour Club for two years before she was suddenly dismissed on October 11 last year. Bosses sacked the 40-year-old on the spot after claiming she had breached GDPR when she checked the footage at the request of a female customer who suspected her drink had been tampered with during a karaoke night. Sophie was dismissed without any investigation or disciplinary action and the case was put before an employment tribunal in Glasgow last month. It ruled that Sophie was not afforded the right to an investigation or an opportunity to put her side across before a dismissal decision was made. She was awarded a total of £9,500 for the unfair and wrongful sacking. Speaking of the outcome, Sophie told the Record: "I wasn't checking the CCTV footage for my own leisure, I was checking it to see if criminal activity had taken place within the bar. "A customer suspected she had been spiked and as bar manager, I had a duty of care to her as my customer. "In this case, there was no criminality but what if there had been and I was sacked for simply trying to investigate this?" Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! During the tribunal, bosses were asked to clarify the data breach they claimed to have occurred, however, neither could provide a clear explanation. Instead, one of them argued Sophie viewing the CCTV was "like it were a screening of a night out at the club.' It further heard that in the months before Sophie was dismissed, several members of the club's committee had been hostile to her after she made a grievance about a committee member. However, Judge E Mannion ruled that although she had been subjected to a level of enmity after making the report, it was not the sole reason why she was sacked. Handing down her findings, Judge Mannion ruled that viewing the CCTV would, at most, be "a breach of an internal policy." She went on to describe the case as a "wholescale" breach of the Acas Code of Practice - a set of fairness standards that employers are required to follow. She said: "While it is appreciated that the respondent is a small organisation, I cannot think of a more egregious breach of the Acas Code of Practice than this case. "It was a total and wholescale breach. Every aspect of it was departed from." Sophie said: "Losing my job right before Christmas plunged my life into a period of stress and uncertainty. "I already suffer from anxiety so this had a profound impact on my mental health. "Taking this to tribunal wasn't about money but rather to clear my name. " Saltcoats is a small town so it is crucial people know the truth. "Even after the truth coming to light and them being proved to have wrongfully dismissed me, I still haven't received even an apology from any of the people that have put me through this."
