Pakistan suffers big setback in OIC meeting of Islamic countries... 3 Muslim countries together blocked the proposal against.... the countries are...
In a major blow to Pakistan and a huge diplomatic win for New Delhi at Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC), countries like Indonesia, Egypt and Bahrain blocked Islamabad's anti-India proposal. According to reports, a meeting of OIC, a Parliamentary Union was held in Jakarta where Pakistan wanted to adopt a tough stand against India on the Kashmir issue. But Indonesia, Egypt and Bahrain foiled Pakistan's efforts to corner India among Muslim countries. The rejection of Pakistan's proposal in OIC also means that Pakistan's influence among Islamic countries has reduced significantly and these countries are standing with India.
According to sources, Indonesia, Egypt and Bahrain have played an important role in foiling Pakistan's anti-India agenda in the OIC meeting. Although Pakistan is propagating that it has achieved success against India during the meeting in Jakarta, but the reality is that Pakistan's agenda on Kashmir has failed in the OIC.
Big setback to Pakistan in OIC meeting
Indonesia has been supporting India's position on Kashmir for years and it has stood with India's territorial integrity. Apart from this, the strategic partnership between India and Indonesia has also grown rapidly following the island country also talking to buy Brahmos missile from India. Apart from this, Egypt is also focusing on strengthening its defense, investment and connectivity relations with India. India's relations with Bahrain have also improved a lot in the last decade. Indonesia pays a lot of attention to its territorial integrity. The reason for this is that it has had a similar experience in Papua. Indonesia has often taken strict action against terrorist infrastructure and radical ideology. Therefore, India and Indonesia have a lot of similar views on the issue of fighting terrorism.
You will remember that during India's Republic Day celebrations this year, the President of Indonesia was the chief guest and he canceled his program in Pakistan. Earlier also, when an OIC meeting was held in New York after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, even during that time Oman had tried to stop the use of harsh words on Kashmir. After that, India strongly criticized Pakistan. India had said that Islamabad misled the OIC group and issued a one-sided statement on the terrorist attacks in Kashmir. India had insisted that Pakistan gave wrong information to the OIC. This time too, Pakistan wanted to corner India on the Kashmir issue. But Indonesia, Egypt and Bahrain foiled its move. These countries supported India and Pakistan had to face humiliation on the international stage.
