Majid Al Futtaim, a leading pioneer in shopping malls, communities, retail, and leisure across the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia, today announced two significant milestones for its forest living concept, Ghaf Woods – the establishment of a dedicated tree nursery to support the project's biophilic design concept and the appointment of Innovo Build as the main contractor for its first two Ghaf Woods set to become a model for sustainable forest living in Dubai, the nursery will be the cornerstone of this vision, where thousands of native and climate-resilient tree species will be grown and nurtured over the next 18 months. Today, the nursery is home to more than 10,000 trees with that figure set to increase to 20,000 and 105,000 shrubs by May 2026. It will eventually grow to house up to 30,000 trees, which will then be transported and replanted across Ghaf part of this exciting journey, the AED 49 million nursery contract has been awarded to Barari Natural Resources, part of Mawarid Holding Investment, who will manage and oversee the trees care and cultivation throughout this journey. The facility will be home to a diverse selection of climate-suitable species, including Acacias, Citrus, Ficus, Melia, Phoenix, Tecomella, Ziziphus, and the iconic Ghaf. All species have been procured from Egypt (Nile Delta), India, Thailand, and the UAE – including Fujairah, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Abu Woods is redefining the concept of living with nature and this milestone is a demonstration of the unique offering it brings. The development's forest ecosystem is set to outnumber residents and serve as a vital 'Green Lung' delivering up to 20% cleaner air and temperatures up to five degrees Celsius cooler than other areas of the city. Roya Media Group delivered an exceptional performance across all its platforms during Ramadan 2025, achieving record-breaking numbers that reflect the strong engagement of its audience and reaffirm its position as a leading media powerhouse in Jordan and the region. According to the RMG's internal data analysis, Roya's digital platforms surpassed 2 billion views across social media, marking a 42 percent increase compared to last year. Additionally, its website and mobile apps recorded over 72 million views, reflecting a 26 percent year-on-year growth. Roya TV confirms its leadership in the media landscape for the ninth consecutive year, based on reliable data from several research firms. For the sixth consecutive year, according to Ipsos, a market and public opinion research company, the results of a recent study showed that Roya TV ranked first in terms of daily viewership of TV channels in Jordan during the month of Ramadan in 2025. The channel achieved a daily viewership share of 56.6 percent, representing a 12.5 percent increase compared to Ramadan 2024. More than 2.8 million viewers in Jordan tuned in to Roya TV every day throughout the month, a testament to the strength and quality of its programming, which continues to engage a wide range of Jordanian audiences. Several standout programs captured audience attention. The 'Comedy Hour' led daily ratings with a 25.3 percent share, reflecting a 49 percent increase over the previous year. Meanwhile, 'Roya News Bulletin' continued to dominate local news programming with an 8.3 percent daily share, up 22 percent, securing its lead among competing news broadcasts. 15 New Electric Buses to Operate in Amman in the Second Half of 2025 The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) has purchased 15 new electric buses that will begin operating in the second half of 2025 as part of the Amman Bus and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects. اضافة اعلان According to Carol Haddad, the head of transport network design at GAM, the current fleet includes approximately 300 buses—175 for the BRT system and 131 for Amman Bus. Haddad noted that during the first third of 2025, around 7,208,228 passengers used the BRT system, while 3,593,044 passengers used Amman Bus services, highlighting growing demand for public transportation in the capital. GAM previously announced that the number of fare-exempt cards issued for senior citizens and persons with disabilities reached 33,390 cards as of last Friday. These cards have been used for over 9 million trips since the launch of the system—2,246,913 trips on BRT buses and 6,885,475 trips on Amman Bus. Amman's Bus Rapid Transit is the city's first high-capacity rapid public transport system.
