President congratulates Russian counterpart

President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat on Wednesday sent a congratulatory cable to President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on the occasion of the friendly Russian people's celebration of Sovereignty Day.
The cable read:
As your friendly people celebrate Sovereignty Day, I am pleased to extend to Your Excellency my warmest congratulations, along with my cordial wishes for good health, happiness, and further development for your friendly country.

The Russian role is highly regarded and relied upon in restoring global balance and curbing the blind imperialism that seeks to dominate the sovereignty of nations and interfere in their internal affairs to control the wealth of peoples.
We hope that Russia's future role will further promote global peace and stability for all societies and nations—foremost among them the Palestinian cause, as the Palestinian people face genocide at the hands of the brutal Zionist machine, under the cover of American imperialism. Such actions stand in stark violation of all international covenants and agreements.
