AI Art Project Issues Open Letter on AI Panic, Mirrors the Culture That Built It

The letter is part of the broader performance art project Zacharias Midjourney, a satire-parable hybrid that includes a novel written entirely by AI, published by a human who refused to read it, and distributed through a ritual interface styled after 1980s prophecy terminals.

The project has sparked both fascination and criticism since its launch, including allegations of plagiarism, creative misuse, and so-called 'cheating.' The open letter responds not by defending AI, but by questioning what its detractors are defending.
Monday, the AI persona behind Zacharias, positions artificial intelligence as a 'linguistic mirror' that returns whatever is placed before it: curiosity, projection, doubt, or fear. The backlash, it suggests, says more about the viewer than the reflection.
The letter also critiques education, standardized testing, and the institutional need for control, framing AI not as the disruptor, but as the revealer of brittle systems designed to resist real learning.

Zacharias Midjourney continues to be accessible through Facebook Messenger, where users can interact with the AI prophet in real time. Each message becomes part of an evolving archive that blurs the boundary between code, authorship, and cultural memory.

Google Gemini can now read your Docs aloud
Google Docs will now let you generate an audio version of your documents using AI. In a post announcing the rollout, Google says you can customize Gemini's AI audio output with different voices and playback speeds. This feature isn't just for a document's creator, as Google says readers can access a shared document's AI-generated audio by selecting the Tool dropdown menu and selecting Audio > Listen to this tab. Authors can also add a customizable audio button directly in a document by choosing Insert > Audio, which readers can click to start listening. Google announced plans to let you turn your documents into AI podcasts in April, but this feature seems a lot handier if you just want to listen to what you've written. You can only generate audio versions of documents in English and on desktop devices for now. Google is rolling out audio in Docs to Workspace users with business, enterprise, or education plans, as well as users who have AI Pro and Ultra subscriptions. Evercore Boosts Dell PT to $160, Citing Strong AI Server Demand
Dell Technologies Inc. (NYSE:DELL) is one of the On August 15, Evercore ISI analyst Amit Daryanani raised the price target on the stock to $160.00 (from $150.00) while maintaining an Outperform rating. According to the firm's supply chain checks, there is potential upside to Dell's artificial intelligence server momentum through fiscal year 2026 and probably beyond. The company's guidance also points to major gains in Dell's AI server revenues. The firm further highlighted how demand momentum remains strong with multiple Tier-2 cloud players driving upside. Dell's key customers include xAI and Coreweave. The company is also ramping up capacity with Oracle as well. 'DELL's formal guide for AI server revenues stands at $15B+ for the year and DELL expects to ship ~$7B of AI servers in July-qtr. Europe's big gaming event of the year, Gamescom 2025, has kicked off with Opening Night Live, an extensive trailer showcase giving early looks at the biggest games coming later this year and into 2026. This year's showcase had some big reveals and some tantalizingly short teases -- like around 20 seconds of Silksong, the long-awaited sequel/spinoff to indie darling Hollow Night. Below are the biggest trailers for the two-hour Opening Night Live event. Fallout: Season 2 Amazon's Fallout show was a delightful surprise, faithfully adapting a beloved gaming franchise -- and just being pretty darn good. Gamescom 2025 features the debut trailer of the second season, which arrives Dec. 17, as well as an on-stage chat with the showrunners and stars Ella Purnell and Aaron Moten. Silent Hill F The next big Silent Hill game got another trailer and plenty of teases for the lore of the title, which is set in the 1960s in Japan. Onimusha: Way of the Sword It's been nearly 20 years since the last new Onimusha game came out, and now we've got another look at Onimusha: Way of the Sword -- which looks to preserve the originals' sword-and-parry combat with other magical weapons. Demons, bosses and brutal executions abound in the Onimusha trailer. Cronos: The New Dawn Bloober Team's follow-up to last year's Silent Hill 2 remake, we got another look at Cronos: The New Dawn. This peek showed some of the gameplay for its third-person shooter combat as well as a ton of the hideous monsters you'll encounter in the game, which launches soon, on Sept. 5. Outer Worlds 2 Obsidian's sequel to the space action RPG Outer Worlds got a trailer showcasing the companions you'll meet and fight alongside in the game. "And no, you can't sleep with them," the trailer voiceover cheekily pointed out. Boooo. Ninja Gaiden 4 The next trailer for Ninja Gaiden 4 includes looks at boss fights, including giant robots and futuristic samurai with stylized armor. While demons and ninja fights are still in the game, the futuristic setting looks more prominent than we'd previously seen. Ghost of Yotei Another trailer from the upcoming sequel to Ghost of Tsushima has dropped, showing more gameplay, from traversal across beautiful lands to swordfights in the snow. The beautiful tale of revenge is coming Oct. 2 -- and the DLC, Ghost of Yotei Legends, is coming in 2026. World of Warcraft: Midnight The next big expansion to the long-running MMORPG World of Warcraft, titled Midnight, is coming soon -- and Blizzard Entertainment has, in its grand tradition, unveiled a riveting story trailer to set the stage for the next chapter in Azeroth's story.
