Gabriel signs new long-term Arsenal contract
Gabriel Maghalaes has committed his future to Arsenal with a new long-term contract.
The centre-back has signed fresh terms with the North Londoners in a huge boost to Mikel Arteta's project. Gabriel has evolved into a key figure for the Gunners since moving to the Premier League from Lille in 2020.
The Brazilian has formed an excellent understanding with William Saliba, helping Arsenal to the Premier League's best defensive record in each of the last three campaigns.

He has made 210 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions, scoring 20 times, and has put pen to paper on a four-year contract.
Discussing his new deal, the 27-year-old said his 'love' for Arsenal was a major factor in extending his stay at the Emirates. After the club's recent progress under Mikel Arteta, he outlined his ambition to help Arsenal to major silverware in the coming campaigns.
'I arrived here as a young player and after almost five years I'm so happy and I've learned a lot,' he told the club's official website.
'I'm so proud of myself, it's an amazing journey, and I'm so happy to continue it. I hope I win some trophies with this club, because I love this club and my family loves the club, too.

Thomas Tuchel has told Jack Grealish he needs to play regular football if he wants to force his way into England's World Cup plans. The Manchester City player is facing an uncertain future at the club after a frustrating season. Liverpool up their bid for Bayer Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz to £113m
Liverpool have increased their offer for Florian Wirtz to £113m in an attempt to seal a club record deal for the Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder. The Premier League champions had a £109m bid for the Germany international rejected last weekend but, following further talks between the two clubs, have submitted a new package that would guarantee Leverkusen £100m plus £13m in add-ons. The offer, however, still falls short of the German club's £126m valuation and Liverpool appear unwilling to meet their asking price. Negotiations will continue in an attempt to conclude what would be Liverpool's record transfer. Wirtz has made it clear he is keen to complete a move to Anfield and Liverpool are confident a deal will be struck for the coveted 22-year-old.
