Texas A&M will face No. 1 Tennessee in a double-header on Saturday due to weather
Texas A&M's fourth SEC series begins on Friday night. The struggling Aggies will take on No. 1 Tennessee on the road for the first time since losing to the Volunteers in the National Championship round last summer. Sitting at 14-14 and 1-8 in SEC play, Texas A&M's postseason chances are eliminated unless this team suddenly improves, which isn't likely given the recent injuries.
This week, head coach Michael Earley provided several injury updates, including relief pitcher Josh Stewart, who will miss the rest of the regular season due to his ongoing right knee injury that could never heal in time, ending his 2025 campaign. While the bullpen continues to deal with attrition issues, first baseman Gavin Kash is also dealing with his own injury issues and will not be available vs. Tennessee this weekend.
Before Game 1, Texas A&M's challenges continued after the news that inclement weather in Knoxville (TN) resulted in Sunday's Game 3 being moved to Saturday, as both teams will meet for a doubleheader, meaning A&M's bullpen will need to stay relatively fresh to have a chance at notching at least one win in the series.

Young QB Draws Josh Allen Comparison From Former Buffalo Bill
Young QB Draws Josh Allen Comparison From Former Buffalo Bill originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Buffalo Bills' first two selections in the 2018 NFL Draft were quarterback Josh Allen, taken with the No. 7 overall pick, and defensive tackle Harrison Phillips, taken with the No. 96 overall selection. Advertisement Phillips and Allen spent four years together as teammates on the Bills before Phillips signed with the Minnesota Vikings in 2022, where he has remained since. Phillips watched Allen grow from a rookie who threw more interceptions than touchdowns, to a budding star and Pro Bowler who developed into a leader. Phillips is getting deja vu with his new young quarterback, J.J. McCarthy. "I've commented before about (how) he came to me the week after his injury to try to learn more about the defense," the Vikings defensive tackle said on Monday, via "Asking those great questions. He's really stepped up in the personal power role (this year). In the locker room, I'm constantly seeing him go up to new guys, to new players, dapping each other up, sitting on the couches and just having conversation. Where last year it was off to rehab, off to meetings. He understands that we have to build a family here and that you can't have unique results without unique relationships." McCarthy was selected with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, but missed his would-be rookie season due to a torn meniscus discovered in the preseason. McCarthy became the first quarterback in NFL history to miss his entire rookie season due to injury after being a first-round selection. Advertisement The injury has not deterred the former Michigan standout, who won a National Championship in 2023. According to Phillips, his blossoming leadership is reminiscent of Allen. "And then, man, he's got some confidence. And he reminds me of Josh Allen when I was with him in Buffalo, coming into his own and understanding the power that he has to lead this organization, and he's doing a fantastic job doing that." McCarthy was a highly-touted prospect in the draft. He threw 22 touchdowns in back-to-back seasons, throwing just nine interceptions between his two final collegiate years. McCarthy led the Big Ten with a 72.3 percent completion rate in 2023. Wedding Guest Details 'Surreal' Taylor Swift Moment With Chiefs' Travis Kelce
Wedding Guest Details 'Surreal' Taylor Swift Moment With Chiefs' Travis Kelce originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift appear to be stepping up their public appearances of late. First, they were seen out at dinner in Palm Beach, Florida, and a couple of days later, they were "spotted" again, but this one is a little different. Photos have now been emerging online of Kelce and Swift attending the wedding of Travis' cousin in Tennessee, with the pair posing for photos with several guests. And one of those guests was Cheyenne Rust, who posted on her Instagram of the surreal experience of having the Grammy winner at the wedding. "I'm wonderstruck, blushing all the way home. Still can't believe we met Taylor while celebrating the Corums! She was as kind, down-to-earth, and lovely as you'd hope. What a surreal, sparkly moment I'll never forget," she posted via A video also shows Travis and Swift dancing in their seats as the bride and groom go through what looks to be their first dance as a married couple. So the pair is clearly enjoying their time together before the NFL season starts. With Travis and Swift dating for over two years, some are wondering what is next for the pair in their relationship. They were reported to be house hunting a couple of months ago; others think that they might move in together or even get married. But right now, they seem to be enjoying each other's company before the NFL season begins and Kelce starts what could be his final year. Indiana Fever dominate Chicago Sky minus Caitlin Clark, back to .500 Thanks to a well-rounded road effort, the Indiana Fever are back to .500. Indiana (4-4) dominated the Chicago Sky (2-5) and Angel Reese on Saturday night, 77-52, as Fever guard Caitlin Clark missed her fourth straight game. It's now consecutive wins for Indiana minus Clark after they had dropped their first two minus the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year. Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell led the way with a game-high 17 points on 5-of-11 shooting with five rebounds, a pair of assists and one steal. Indiana forward Natasha Howard registered her fourth double-figure scoring contest of the season with 13 points. Fever forward Aliyah Boston finished with 11 points, five rebounds, five assists and one block. It was Boston's seventh game scoring in double figures. Recent emergency hardship signing Aari McDonald continued her impressive play since joining the club. After scoring seven points, assisting five times and coming away with three steals in her Fever debut during Indiana's 85-76 win over Washington on Tuesday, McDonald had another strong performance in the win over the Sky. The 5-foot-6 guard scored 12 points and knocked down a trio of 3-pointers against Chicago. McDonald also came away with four steals, two assists and one board. Indiana shot 45.8% from the field and 40.7% from beyond the arc as the Fever connected on 11 3-pointers. Meanwhile, Chicago shot just 32.7% from the field and 20.0% from the 3-point line. Reese finished with only four points on a 2-of-7 shooting night. The former LSU star grabbed 12 rebounds. The Fever are now 2-0 in Commissioner's Cup play. Kamilla Cardoso and Rebecca Allen led Chicago with eight points apiece. Indiana returns to action on Tuesday at Atlanta (5-3) from Gateway Center at 6:30 p.m. CT. The two teams have split the season's first two meetings with Atlanta winning in Indiana on May 20, 91-90, and the Fever winning at Atlanta on May 22, 81-76. Clark will be reevaluated on June 9 and could possibly return at Atlanta. "I feel like I've made a lot of progress and I feel good, and I'm not going to rush coming back. It's just not worth it. But after this weekend, I'll be reevaluated and we'll have a better idea of when I'll return," Clark said on Thursday.
