Kochi: Youth Congress Ernakulam district president Sijo Joseph has filed a complaint to the DGP against actor Vinayakan over his Facebook post on former chief minister V S Achuthanandan. The actor had invited criticism for the post, mentioning the death of Achuthanandan and many other functionaries using a language that is widely condemned. The complaint said Vinayakan's insult of Achuthanandan has the potential to disrupt law and order. The complaint also said the post contained derogatory remarks about Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and deceased former chief ministers K Karunakaran, Oommen Chandy and former Congress MP George Eden. Vinayakan had faced criticism for a similar Facebook post following Chandy's death, which led to a police case based on a complaint. He attended a rally in Kochi on Wednesday, condoling Achuthanandan's death and his slogan praising the communist veteran went viral on social media. Congress's cyber handles said the language Vinayakan used to describe Chandy when he died was condemnable.
