FREEPORT, Fla. (WMBB) – An opportunity to enjoy a day full of some fun in the sun is coming to the E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center in Freeport on Saturday, May 17th.
The center is yet again hosting their 'Summer Splash' where all attendees can grab food and drinks, enter raffles, beat the heat with water-themed bounce houses, and you can take aim at center staff who will be in dunk tanks.
You can also visit some of the resident's of the center as the reptile room will be open along with their birds of prey exhibit.
Staff say this is the best way for residents and visitors to check out the center and see all the important work they do in the Walton County area.

'We want to give people the opportunity to come out and visit the center, see what we're really doing. We try to host an event every month if we can,' said E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center Assistant Director Ashlyn Stanford. 'This is a really good one for kicking off the summer as school is coming to a close, giving people the opportunity to come out and see it and then eventually make it out for the summer days as well. It's just kind of a sneak peek of what they can expect for the summer.'
The 'Summer Splash' event will start at 9 a.m. and last until about 2 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for those 13 and up, $7 for anyone between the ages of four and 12, and free for all members.
