Conman flogged fake tickets for Justin Bieber, Calvin Harris and Harry Styles to school pals
The scammer swiped walked free from court after pocketing thousands of pounds CONCERT CON Conman flogged fake tickets for Justin Bieber, Calvin Harris and Harry Styles to school pals Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A TICKET scammer who targeted friends and former schoolmates in a swindle that saw him pocket almost £2,000 has walked free from court. Iain Glen flogged briefs for major events in Scotland including Harry Styles, Calvin Harris and Justin Bieber. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 4 Iain Glen was sentenced for scamming money from five people for non existent concert tickets 4 He took advantage of Calvin Harris fans 4 Justin Bieber tickets were also involved 4 Glen also fleeced Harry Styles fans The scumbag has been convicted of flogging more than £2,000 in fake tickets but scores of buyers have complained in online groups of falling foul of his scams. The 37-year-old also insisted he had VIP tickets for a meet and greet with former Rangers stars. But his victims called in the police after eventually realising they had been duped by Glen. It lead to him appearing in the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court last week. He pleaded guilty to defrauding five victims a total of £1,665 in a year-long scam from 2022 to January 2023. Glen, of the city's Townhead, could have faced a jail-term but Sheriff Anna Reid ordered him to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work. Emma McShane was his first victim after getting in touch for tickets for ex-One Direction star Styles. She paid £400 and Glen then said he would post the briefs through her letterbox on the day of the concert. He then claimed there had been an unexpected issue. Fiscal Leo McGinn told the court: 'He said he would provide a refund and in the following days he gave various excuses as to why he did not. 'A partial refund was eventually given to Miss McShane.' Calvin Harris hits back with furious TikTok video after being accused of COPYING new single by 90s popstar Glen was also contacted by Nicola Drummond on Instagram about a Calvin Harris gig. Miss Drummond sent Glen £100 to Glen's bank account but the tickets never appeared. It was only after she alerted police that the scammer refunded the £100. The court heard Glen's school friend Michaela Barr bought four tickets for the TRNSMT music festival in Glasgow. She coughed up £290 only for Glen to claim the briefs were provided on a 'first come, first served basis'. Miss Barr was forced to claim the cash back from her bank. Stephanie Delaney - another ex-schoolmate - sent him £130 for Justin Bieber tickets and after repeat messages about a refund he coughed up just £50. The court heard Nicola Cragg - a friend of seven years - was another he swindled. She had contacted him to buy six tickets costing £745 for a 'VIP football event' at Glasgow's Hilton Hotel featuring ex-Rangers stars. Mr McGinn said: 'Miss Cragg became suspicious in August 2022 and asked Glen to confirm the venue of the event. 'Glen said there had been a mix up with the tickets, that part of the event had been cancelled and £300 was owed to her.' The briefs did show up on Miss Cragg's Ticketmaster account - but she never got the rest of her money. Kevin Corr, defending, told the court Glen claimed to have had contacts in the event industry and had been known to legitimately sell tickets in the past. He added: 'He fell into alcohol and substance misuse which was a factor on his life. 'This led to him burying his head in the sand to the ticket arrangements that went on.' Glen has previously featured on the 'Scotland Scammers' Facebook page outing fraudsters. The message claimed 'a broken hearted little girl' had spent her own money hoping to see US singer Olivia Rodrigo while another user claimed their daughter had been tricked into handing over cash for Taylor Swift.

Renna went into cardiac arrest before later being declared brain dead after using a cleaning product to take part in the deadly challenge. The teen's heartbroken dad Aaron O'Rouke described how his daughter dreamed of fame. He told AZFamily: "She always said, 'I'm gonna be famous, Dad. Just you watch. I'm gonna be famous', and unfortunately this is not under the most optimal of circumstances." Aaron and his wife Dana shared their daughter's tragic story to raise awareness of the social media challenge. Dana said: "There's no ID required. It's odorless. It's everything kids look for. "They can afford it, they can get it, and it doesn't show in mom and dad's drug test." The mom explained how Renna and her boyfriend used an app delivery service to have the cleaning agent delivered to their door. She told 12news: "[Renna] and her boyfriend had Door Dashed product to my house and I didn't know. It's keyboard cleaner. I didn't know what they were doing with it. "We want to make sure that we use our tragedy so that no other parent has to experience looking at their child on life support and a ventilator and not breathing on her own all because she huffed out of a can." Pheobe Bishop cops arrest 34-year-old flatmate who was last to see missing Aussie teen on explosive journey to airport Dr. Randy Weisman, from the HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn Medical Center, explained how inhaling aerosols can make users feel drunk or euphoric for a few minutes. But such use can result in liver failure, heart failure and lung disease among other irreversible issues - or death. He told AZFamily: "This is extremely concerning. "When they inhale these chemicals in the gas it will actually replace the oxygen within their lungs and within the rest of their body." Renna's parents said that the only light to come from her passing is that her organs have gone on to save at least six other people. Mom Dana said: "Through that we're finding strength and purpose. "She will be unbelievably missed, leaving the most aching hole in our lives, but if her life is to mean anything, we are going to do what we can to prevent somebody else's child from being where ours is right now. "She will be unbelievably missed, leaving the most aching hole in our lives, but if her life is to mean anything, we are going to do what we can to prevent somebody else's child from being where ours is right now." A post on the GoFundMe set up for Renna read: "On Sunday, June 1st at 1:30pm, our wonderful daughter, after 4 days in the ICU, was pronounced brain dead. "She was the light in every room she walked into, and the pain that her family and friends feel is simply immeasurable. "We want to use the proceeds of this fundraiser to cover the extensive medical bills, burial costs, therapy costs, and to spread awareness about the dangers of Huffing/Dusting, the practice of inhaling keyboard cleaner or similar."

In a new post, Billy marked Amy's birthday with a special video montage. Some of the photos included them on romantic date nights, on exotic holidays and snaps of Amy pregnant in 2023. The couple have jetted to Portugal with their kids Milly and Billy and Amy's eldest daughter Polly for the Towie away trip. Billy gushed over his fiance, writing alongside the clip: "HAPPY 35th BIRTHDAY to my Queen. "The best mummy to our children. "The most caring loving person, my ride or die, my one. "Hope you have the most amazing day. I love you." Amy quickly commented, writing: "Love you babe," with a red heart emoji and reshared the post on her Instagram story. 'Gutted' Amy Childs 'cancels wedding to Billy Delbosq' after fan backlash over extreme weight loss Her cousin Harry Derbidge also reacted with a string of heart emojis. I DON-N'T Sources told Closer Magazine: "Amy has had to cancel her wedding and she's absolutely gutted. "There was going to be a show around it, following the run-up to their big day, but they've had to make some last-minute changes based on what's going on in their lives." Amy shares two of her four children with Billy, 42, who she first met in 2000. She referred to him as her "Prince Charming" after they set eyes on each other during lockdown. In 2023, the pair welcomed twins, Amelia and Billy, into the world after a "long and exhausting" labour - yet their marriage plans have taken a back seat. Despite going wedding dress shopping, Amy has repeatedly delayed her big day. CHANGING SHAPE Fresh issues were sparked after fans noticed her drastic weight loss. Amy recently came under fire after showing off her significant body overhaul and admitting she had lost two stone. The busy working mum then admitted she "can't stop being sick" just days after the weight loss backlash. Yet in a bid to put rumours of "fat jabs" to bed, Amy has finally opened up about her extreme weight loss, which has seen her shed two stone. Speaking to OK! Magazine, she said: "People don't know what is going on behind closed doors. 'I'm going through so much at the minute that the weight has fallen off me. I worry about my mum constantly. 'She's very emotional – she thinks she's going to have another heart attack. 'People think I'm not eating, but I do eat. To be honest, I do feel better when I'm a bit heavier than I am at the moment. 'There's so much going on at the minute – it's the result of pure stress." Addressing fans who had speculated she had used medication to shed the pounds she said: 'I just want to be clear that, as I've said before, I'm not using weight-loss injections." 5 Amy and Billy have postponed their wedding for a second time Credit: Getty
