Lena Dunham speaks with 'The Times' and shares that she's in the process of "expanding" her family
The actress and writer also revealed she had a hysterectomy in 2018 and is exploring "new ways" of having kids

The actress and writer, 39, recently spoke with The Times about her new television series, Too Much, and shared that she is in the process of "expanding" her family with husband Luis Felber. Speaking about her chronic illness, Dunham shared that she had a hysterectomy in early 2018 to combat her painful endometriosis.
"It was a grief but it was also a relief," Dunham says of the hysterectomy. "I thought I would have the opportunity to experience my fertility and my cycle waning and it never was."
"Instead it was a very quick, sharp cut-off...I will say we're in the process of expanding our family in new ways," she continues. "I want to safely meet our children and then figure out how to talk about it."

Last June, Dunham spoke with PEOPLE and shared that her marriage to Felber and this period of her life have been her "most peaceful" era.
'I am so lucky in that the last years have been, I would argue, the most peaceful of my life,' she told PEOPLE at the time.
'Sometimes I feel like I am boring on the phone with my friends, because I have a lovely husband who I adore collaborating with,' said Dunham.
Dunham and Felber tied the knot in September 2021. The actress confirmed the wedding date on her Instagram a few days after the official ceremony. "9*25*21 - that's how she became the nanny..." Dunham captioned a wedding photo of the couple.
Two days after the nuptials, Felber opened up about his "soulmate" Dunham, in conversation with The New York Times.
"I think when you know, you know. I've only been alive for 35 years in this lifetime, and I think it's another archaic thing for guys to hide their feelings," he said. "I'm way more into the flow of getting to know the person. And I think Lena's the same. And I think — I'm going to sound cheesy — but when you find your soulmate, you just know."
The couple met on a blind date in London that was arranged by their mutual friend, Felber revealed to the Times, adding, "The first time we hung out, we didn't stop talking for, like, eight hours."
Asked when he knew he wanted to marry Dunham, Felber said, "There were lots of moments, there are lots of moments and there will be lots of moments. I'm not living in a Disney film where you're certain about who you want to spend the rest of your life with in one moment. Time is fluid and when you know, you know. I love my wife, who is also my best friend."
