The actress and writer also revealed she had a hysterectomy in 2018 and is exploring "new ways" of having kids
Dunham tied the knot with husband Luis Felber in 2021Lena Dunham is hoping to expand her family.
The actress and writer, 39, recently spoke with The Times about her new television series, Too Much, and shared that she is in the process of "expanding" her family with husband Luis Felber. Speaking about her chronic illness, Dunham shared that she had a hysterectomy in early 2018 to combat her painful endometriosis.
"It was a grief but it was also a relief," Dunham says of the hysterectomy. "I thought I would have the opportunity to experience my fertility and my cycle waning and it never was."
"Instead it was a very quick, sharp cut-off...I will say we're in the process of expanding our family in new ways," she continues. "I want to safely meet our children and then figure out how to talk about it."

Last June, Dunham spoke with PEOPLE and shared that her marriage to Felber and this period of her life have been her "most peaceful" era.
'I am so lucky in that the last years have been, I would argue, the most peaceful of my life,' she told PEOPLE at the time.
'Sometimes I feel like I am boring on the phone with my friends, because I have a lovely husband who I adore collaborating with,' said Dunham.
Dunham and Felber tied the knot in September 2021. The actress confirmed the wedding date on her Instagram a few days after the official ceremony. "9*25*21 - that's how she became the nanny..." Dunham captioned a wedding photo of the couple.
Two days after the nuptials, Felber opened up about his "soulmate" Dunham, in conversation with The New York Times.
"I think when you know, you know. I've only been alive for 35 years in this lifetime, and I think it's another archaic thing for guys to hide their feelings," he said. "I'm way more into the flow of getting to know the person. And I think Lena's the same. And I think — I'm going to sound cheesy — but when you find your soulmate, you just know."
The couple met on a blind date in London that was arranged by their mutual friend, Felber revealed to the Times, adding, "The first time we hung out, we didn't stop talking for, like, eight hours."
Asked when he knew he wanted to marry Dunham, Felber said, "There were lots of moments, there are lots of moments and there will be lots of moments. I'm not living in a Disney film where you're certain about who you want to spend the rest of your life with in one moment. Time is fluid and when you know, you know. I love my wife, who is also my best friend."

Queen Camilla Has Allegedly Told King Charles to "Put a Stop" to William
A former royal photographer is spilling on what's going on behind the scenes with the royals, and he's alleged that Queen Camilla is NOT here for Prince William's antics. Ian Pelham Turner tells The Mirror that he believes Queen Camilla's "seeing William trying to create issues and she's told Charles to stop it." He added, "I think the reality is, it's been rumored for a while, that William has been trying to push—whatever—in the monarchy, at the moment, that he's the driving force behind the throne and I think, Charles should be." Prince William and his stepmom have a historically strained relationship, and last year royal expert Christopher Andersen told Us Weekly that William merely "tolerates" Camilla, who has always been "a little afraid" of him. The author also said that Camilla "needed a gin and tonic" after her first time meeting William. Sounds rough, but a family friend also told the outlet that "William has warmed up to Camilla over time" and they have "a familial relationship these days." "There's a lot to overcome," they added. "William and Harry had always distrusted Camilla and felt resentment toward her because of their devotion to their mother. They never felt comfortable opening up to her in any real way. William and Harry's distrust grew when they found out Camilla was leaking stories to the press to make herself look better." The feud with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle apparently "brought them closer," as the friend notes that "William and Kate don't want any extra drama or tension in the family—they have enough of that with Meghan and Harry It was really Kate who warmed William to Camilla. She's never been dismissive of Camilla and always treated her with kindness." First official photos of brand new 2025/26 Manchester City third kit leaked
The first official photos of Manchester City's brand new 2025/26 third kit have now surfaced online ahead of its official release. With anticipation building among fans for the club's latest range of matchday apparel, leaks of City kits have become an annual talking point during pre-season and the overall build-up to the latest campaign. Supporters have seen numerous concept designs and speculative renders shared online in recent months, but the emergence of official photography offers the first definitive insight into what Pep Guardiola's side will be wearing in select domestic and European fixtures next season. The third kit, traditionally worn for away matches in cup competitions or on the European stage, often provides Puma with more creative freedom than the home and away designs. Over the last few seasons, City's alternate strips have ranged from bold and vibrant to minimal and sleek. In recent years, City's third kits have also been tied to notable moments in club history. Purple-and-orange inspired editions have been worn during Champions League nights, while the 2022/23 black-and-red design paid homage to a retro pattern first seen in the 1960s. For 2025/26, Puma have opted for a strikingly modern look that blends subtle detailing with a unique theme. Now, as revealed by Footy Headlines, supporters can be issued with their first look at official photos of Manchester City's yet-to-be released third kit for the forthcoming 2025/26 season. The latest edition produced by Puma is seemingly inspired by rain droplets on a window, with the kit featuring a silver-grey base with a water drop graphic print, with the official colour palette termed as 'Cool Weather/Pro Green'. Additional information in the report around the new photos reveals that the new third kit is scheduled to be released in August 2025. The leak has sparked mixed reactions online, with some embracing the sleek silver aesthetic and unique detailing, while others may prefer more traditional colourways associated with the club's history. With an August release confirmed, the new strip could make its debut early in the 2025/26 campaign, potentially in a Champions League away fixture or a domestic cup tie. Puma's marketing campaign will also feature several first-team stars modelling the kit, alongside promotional materials highlighting the design's inspiration. As with previous seasons, pre-orders are likely to open shortly after the official unveiling, with high demand anticipated among collectors and dedicated supporters keen to secure the latest addition to City's ever-growing kit archive.
