NCAA Women's Tournament 2025: Texas advances to first Final Four since 2003
The 2025 NCAA Women's Tournament continues Monday with the final day of Elite Eight action.

First, Madison Booker and No. 1 seed Texas took down Hailey Van Lith and No. 2 seed TCU.
Now, Paige Bueckers No. 2 seed UConn face Kiki Iriafen and top-seeded USC.
The Final Four is in Tampa, Florida on Friday night.
Here are Monday's highlights! No. 2 seed TCU vs. No. 1 seed Texas
The Longhorns used a surge at the end of the third quarter and the beginning of the fourth quarter to pull away from the Horned Frogs. With the win, No. 1 seed Texas made it back to the Final Four for the first time since 2003, where it will face No. 1 seed South Carolina on Friday in Tampa Bay.
Madison Booker scored 18 points on 8-of-17 shooting. She grabbed six rebounds and blocked two shots.
Kyla Oldacre came off the bench to score nine points, including a clutch and-1 layup, and helped to limit TCU's Sedona Prince to just four points. Prince, ultimately, fouled out with 6:32 remaining in the fourth quarter.
After shooting 46.7% across three NCAA Tournament games, Haley Van Lith went 3-of-15 from the field. She ended with 17 points, getting most of her offense from the free-throw line, where she shot 10-of-11. No. 2 seed UConn vs. No. 1 seed USC

Houston Texans sign former Cleveland Browns star running back Nick Chubb
HOUSTON (AP) — The Houston Texans have signed former Cleveland Browns star running back Nick Chubb, the team announced on Monday. Chubb made four Pro Bowls in seven seasons with Cleveland, but was limited by injuries the past two years. He suffered a left knee injury in Week 2 at Pittsburgh in 2023 and remained sidelined until Week 7 in 2024. He then played in eight games before breaking his foot and finished with 332 yards rushing and four touchdowns. Advertisement Chubb could join a backfield that features Joe Mixon. The two-time Pro Bowler had 1,016 yards in his first year with Houston after seven seasons in Cincinnati. The Texas won the AFC South at 10-7 before losing at Kansas City in the divisional round of the playoffs. The 29-year-old Chubb has run for 6,843 yards since the Browns selected him in the second round in the 2018 NFL draft. He is third on the team's career list behind Hall of Famers Jim Brown (12,312) and Leroy Kelly (7,274). Chubb rushed for 1,525 yards and 12 TDs in 2022. Dick Vitale signs contract extension as ESPN announces annual game in his honor
Awesome baby! Dick Vitale, 86, signed a contract extension with ESPN through the 2027-28 season Monday. That was not the only present he received on his birthday. Advertisement ESPN also announced the Dick Vitale Invitational, which will take place in Charlotte, N.C., on Nov. 4, 2025. This year's matchup will feature Duke and Texas. 'ESPN has been such a vital part of my,' Vitale said. 'I was so thrilled to learn that ESPN Events will have an annual Dick Vitale Invitational.' Dick Vitale is pictured in 2021. During his career, he has coined many legendary catch phrases, including 'it's awesome baby' and 'diaper dandy' for talented freshmen. Unfortunately, those lines have not been heard on the airwaves for quite some time. Vitale announced that he was diagnosed with and underwent surgery for melanoma near his nose om August 2021. Advertisement Just three months later, he was diagnosed with cancer again. This time, his diagnosis was lymphoma. Once again, he was able to claim victory over cancer, announcing he was cancer-free in 2022. Advertisement He was even able to return to television to call ESPN's international broadcast of UConn's 2023 NCAA Tournament championship game victory over San Diego State. In July 2023, he was diagnosed with vocal cord cancer. \After radiation treatments, he was advised by doctors to rest his voice, forcing him to miss the 2023-2024 season. Vitale had to fight cancer one more time in June 2024 as cancer was found a lymph node in his neck. But in the end, Vitale defeated it again. Advertisement On X, Vitale said that this was 'my national championship.' Vitale's return to broadcasting happened in February 2025 when he called a regular-season matchup between Duke and Clemson.

SMU Football Preview 2025: The Mustangs Are Built To Do It Again
Well that last season, SMU hadn't won a regular season game against a Power Five-now-Power-Four program against anyone by TCU since an all-time bet-on-yourself move, SMU became a part of the ACC, but without taking a dime of TV revenue until 2032. It was looking to raise the school's profile with a long-term plan, and it helped get the alumni fired up and ready to write and Cal were the higher-profile gets for the ACC, SMU was expected to be a nice scrimmage for the established programs, and then ... probably didn't belong in the expanded College Football Playoff - technically, a case could've been made for BYU instead with an 18-15 win over the Mustangs in Dallas - but let's start with this. If last year at this exact time, you were told SMU would be in the CFP discussion ... In the ten years of the College Football Playoff, no two-loss Power Five/Four program would've been left out of an expanded 12-team model - it had to be done. SMU had to be what that the Mustangs were outplayed and outclassed in a blowout loss at Penn State. They made it. Everything the school could've dreamed of came true. SMU made the (bleep)ing College Football Playoff. Texas A&M hasn't done that. Neither has Baylor, Texas Tech, or Houston. Take it outside of the football-mad state - Wisconsin, Florida, Ole Miss, Auburn, Missouri, USC, Utah, and Iowa have yet to make the last year, Penn State and Tennessee hadn't been in, it wasn't a fluke. Okay, so the ACC was fourth among the Power Four conferences by about a gajillion miles. SMU hung up 66 on TCU, walloped Florida State 42-16, took out a good Louisville squad, and in all, beat six teams that went bowling, and again, almost took out Clemson. All head coach Rhett Lashlee has done is go 22-6 over the last two seasons and 29-12 since taking the job in recruiting class was terrific, the staff kept around everyone important, crushed the transfer portal for key positions, the depth is better, and the starting 22 will be more talented than last year's schedule is tougher - Florida State will likely rebound, Miami is on the slate this time around, and good luck with those road trips to TCU and Clemson - and the team will be the hunted, but after last year, you're insane to think SMU can't do it all again.
