Sports Fans Saddened By Barron Trump's Announcement
Sports Fans Saddened By Barron Trump's Announcement originally appeared on The Spun. The President of the United States continues to get invested in the sports world. On Sunday, President Trump, 79, announced that he wants the Washington Commanders and Cleveland Guardians to "immediately" return to their old names, the Redskins and Indians, respectively. President Trump made his demand on his social media platform, Truth Social. He referred to the Washington Commanders as the Washington "Whatevers." "The Washington 'Whatever's' should IMMEDIATELY change their name back to the Washington Redskins Football Team. There is a big clamoring for this. Likewise, the Cleveland Indians, one of the six original baseball teams, with a storied past. Our great Indian people, in massive numbers, want this to happen. Their heritage and prestige is systematically being taken away from them. Times are different now than they were three or four years ago. We are a Country of passion and common sense. OWNERS, GET IT DONE!!!" he wrote on Truth Social. But while President Trump is getting involved in the sports world, his youngest son, Barron Trump, does not appear to be doing the same. Barron Trump, a 6-foot-7 freshman at NYU, was reportedly asked by some classmates if he wanted to play pickup basketball. He reportedly told them that he was not "allowed" to play pickup hoops on campus. It's a sad admission. 'He's sort of like an oddity on campus,' Kaya Walker, the president of NYU College Republicans, told Vanity Fair. 'He goes to class, he goes home.' Sports fans are saddened by the announcement. Barron Trump played soccer growing up and he was reportedly quite good. He could be an impact player for an intramural basketball team at NYU, that's for sure. "She needs to working on turning Barron into a hooper," one fan wrote of Melania Trump. "Been saying Barron should've been a hooper," one fan added. "He better be a hooper next year," one fan added. It'd be nice to hear of Barron Trump's intramural performances next year, if he's actually allowed to play. "I've always had huge admiration for the club and what they've achieved over the last few years, in particular, how they've grown as a club. Henderson is Brentford's fifth signing of the summer window and will help fill the void following Christian Norgaard's departure.
