Last gig at Sheffield's Leadmill music venue to feature indie favourite
Last month, the club announced it would have to leave its premises in the city after losing a long-running eviction battle with its landlord, the Electric Group.
On Wednesday, the venue announced the final gig, saying Kane's appearance will be 'a remarkable full stop to The Leadmill's concert history'.
Live promoter Ben Hartley said: 'Miles has been a cherished friend of The Leadmill for well over a decade.
'After the support he has shown us throughout our eviction campaign and the countless memories of sold-out shows throughout the years, it feels entirely fitting that he joins us one last time to add a remarkable full stop to The Leadmill's concert history.'
Well-known names such as Pulp's Jarvis Cocker pledged their backing to the club after it emerged in 2022 that the Electric Group had issued the eviction notice, triggering a lengthy legal battle.
After it lost an appeal last month, The Leadmill said the judgment will mean the loss of more than 70 jobs.
It described the decision as a 'heartbreaking moment not just for our team but for the entire Sheffield community' which 'feels like a betrayal of the cultural fabric of our city'.
The appeal ruling came three months after a judge ruled in favour of the Electric Group, which owns the building and runs Electric Brixton in London plus venues in Bristol and Newcastle.
The group has always stressed that it intends to keep it as a music venue, promising 'substantial investment' when it takes over the running of the club.
After it won the court case in February, the Electric Group said: 'The successful legal outcome paves the way for a bright future for this venue, ensuring it will receive the substantial investment it needs to thrive.
'It will continue to be a cornerstone of the live music scene in Sheffield, supporting artists, fans and community projects for the next 100 years.'

The Leadmill opened its doors 45 years ago and has played host to countless bands including Pulp, Coldplay, Arcade Fire, Muse, Oasis, Stone Roses, The White Stripes, Jorja Smith and Michael Kiwanuka.
A plaque on the building marks Pulp's first gig, which was at the venue in August 1980.
Kane first performed at The Leadmill in 2011 and has gone on to sell out the venue a further four times as a solo performer, most recently in December 2023.
He also appeared in 2007 as part of The Little Flames, who were opening for Sheffield's Arctic Monkeys.
Tickets go on sale on Friday at 10am from The Leadmill website.

Huge US band heavily hint they will perform in secret Glastonbury set
US band Haim, formed of three sisters Este, Danielle, and Alana Haim, have hinted they could be performing at Glastonbury Festival in a secret set. When the Worthy Farm festival dropped its full line-up last week, the presence of some 'TBA' slots and a mysterious made-up band called Patchwork caused rumours to fly. While Pulp, Lewis Capaldi and even Timothee Chalamet as Bob Dylan have all been rumoured to be the acts behind these line-up gaps, Haim have just heavily suggested they will be at the festival filling one of them. The trio are scheduled to perform a one-off show at Dreamland Margate on Friday, June 26, meaning they are within touching distance from Glastonbury for the Saturday and Sunday evenings of the festival. While fans suspected the UK was quite far to travel for a single show in Margate, the band has now spoken out about their rumoured Glastonbury secret set. When asked by Jo Whiley on BBC Radio 2 whether they were free on the Glastonbury weekend, the Falling hitmakers said: 'Well we are playing Margate a couple of days before, so we will be in the area..' Their coy answer was followed by the sisters raving about the festival, which kicks off in a fortnight, while talking about their favourite stage. 'We love the Park Stage. We played there the first time we came to Glastonbury, it felt like a movie. We were like, how did we get here?' they said. 'You'll never forget the first time you step onto the farm. Fears are growing that Brat queen Charli XCX is going to cause chaos, as she is billed to perform on The Other Stage, rather than the main Pyramid Stage, where Neil Young will be instead. Emily Eavis revealed on a recent episode of Annie Mac and Nick Grimshaw's Sidetracked podcast that they had sold a few thousand less tickets this year to reduce crowds. However, Emily – daughter of Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis – also said she called a meeting with 250 staff members and asked if anyone felt it was overcrowded last year, but apparently nobody put their hand up. 'I was like, [that's] interesting because there's a lot of talk, some people think that it was,' she said. Emily's comments come after an insider told Mail on Sunday: 'How has it [Glastonbury] survived this long without a major disaster? 'It's got to be a mixture of luck and a mixture of good will, the jewel in the UK's crown is actually something of a ticking time bomb.' Iconic 90s band 'confirmed' as Glastonbury's secret Patchwork act
There are only two weeks to go until Glastonbury 2025 kicks off and festival fans think they've worked out who secret act Patchwork really is. Speculation has been growing about the various secret sets across Worthy Farm but it looks like this biggest lineup mystery has been 'confirmed'. Names like Haim, Harry Styles, Timothee Chalamet, Robbie Williams, and even Oasis have been mentioned as potential performers (despite Noel and Liam Gallagher distinctly saying no). However, it seems Patchwork's identity has been 'confirmed' by popular Glastonbury hint account SecretGlasto. According to the anonymous tip poster, none other than Pulp will be taking to the Pyramid Stage in that primetime slot of 6.15pm on Saturday, June 28. SecretGlasto shared a video of a patchwork quilt and someone using a sewing machine before cutting to clips of Jarvis Cocker and Pulp. Formed in Sheffield in 1978, Pulp grew in popularity in the mid-1990s, firstly with their 1994 album His 'n' Hers and its follow-up Different Class. In the background clips from recent interviews with the Common People hitmakers discussing Glastonbury — and Candida Doyle's love of Patchwork. While speaking to Jo Whiley, the 61-year-old musician shared: 'I used to do patchwork when I was on tour and I made a really nice bit of patchwork, that's all I can think of right now.' Then there's frontman Jarvis, 61, who confirmed he will be going to Glastonbury this year for a DJ set at the Stone Bridge bar. However, when pushed by Scott Mills about the possibility of taking to the Pyramid Stage, he said only in a 'life or death situation'. Fans have taken SecretGlasto's post as fact, with ruwise commenting on Instagram: 'So glad that Jarvis realised that it was a life or death situation for me.' 'Hope this is real?🙌' said kellyknox123 as miaandfam wrote: 'So Jarvis lied to me on @bbc6music then hey? 😮.' 'Better not be a stitch up,' added with some mystery still surrounding an account for Patchwork which has not been verified. 'Still dont think it's pulp…… on the 'patchwork' account the date is in american format….. would pulp say 'ya'll' on a post like americans do,' said shepherd_ali. Stuartbrown12 replied: 'That patchwork account could be run by anyone, the blue tick doesn't mean anything these days. Secret glasto is usually right about these things.' More Trending SecretGlasto does have a tendency to be correct, although not always — in 2023 they said James Acaster was doing a secret set but it was not the comedian. The popular account did apologise for the confusion, but we'll happily excuse one error every so often. Pulp have just returned with new music and a tour, although it is bittersweet as the band lost bassist Steve Mackey in 2023.
