Arab Weather: A relatively hot to hot air mass affects Jordan on Sunday and Monday
Khaberni -It is expected that the Kingdom will be affected on Sunday and Monday by a relatively hot to hot air mass coming from the Arabian Peninsula, leading to a temporary and noticeable increase in temperatures, according to the Arab Weather Regional Center.
According to details, the air mass will start affecting the Kingdom starting from Sunday, reaching its peak on Monday, where temperatures are expected to be about 7 to 9 degrees Celsius higher than the usual rates for this time of the year.
Relatively hot weather will prevail in the mountainous highlands, while it will be hot in various regions of the Kingdom, and extremely hot in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, Aqaba, and large parts of the eastern desert.
Temperatures touch the forties in some areas
Estimates indicate that the maximum temperatures will range in the capital Amman and major cities between the early and mid-thirties Celsius, while they may reach the mid-forties in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, Aqaba, and the eastern regions.
Moderate weather at night and an increase in nighttime temperatures
It is also expected that nighttime temperatures will rise compared with previous nights, making the weather moderate in the western regions and the eastern plains, and warm in the rest of the Kingdom, especially during the early night hours.
No upcoming heat waves despite the hot weather
Specialists at the Arab Weather Center confirmed that the hot air mass is not deep enough to cause a heat wave in the Kingdom, which means that the temperatures, despite rising, will not reach peak levels, and there are currently no indicators of heat waves in the coming days.
Reason for weather changes
The center attributed the reason for the hot air pushing towards the Kingdom and the Levant to the flow of an air mass colder than usual coming from the European continent towards North Africa, which pushed the hot air to extend towards the Eastern Mediterranean.
It is expected that temperatures will start to gradually decrease starting from Tuesday.
