
Two arrested following assault in Wagmatcook: N.S. RCMP
A man and a woman have been arrested after an assault in Wagmatcook, according to the Nova Scotia RCMP.
Victoria County District RCMP responded to a report of an injured person on Fishery Road around 5:30 a.m. Monday. Police say officers learned a 33-year-old man from Manitoba had been assaulted earlier that morning. He was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
'During the investigation, officers identified the two people involved,' reads a news release from Nova Scotia RCMP.
Charlie Francis, 22, of Wagmatcook, appeared in Port Hawkesbury provincial court Tuesday and has been charged with six offences, including:
aggravated assault
resist arrest / obstructs a peace officer
failure to comply with probation order
A woman was also arrested on Monday. She was released by police on conditions pending an upcoming court appearance.
The investigation is ongoing.
