🌟 The best young stars at EURO 2025 so far
The EURO 2025 group stage is over and the knockout rounds begin this week. First, though, there's time to highlight some of the young players lighting up the tournament so far.
The development of the stars of tomorrow is being supported by Just Eat, which pairs local, grassroots football with restaurant partners across Europe.

From their own grassroots beginnings to the biggest stage of all, here are our three players under the age of 21 to look out for when the quarter-finals begin:
Sydney Schertenleib
Hosts Switzerland started the tournament well against Norway but when they found themselves behind and needed a spark, they turned to 18-year-old Schertenleib from the bench.
Her ability to create something and her vision almost brought about an equaliser on that opening day and her display earned her a start in the two following group games, which saw her provide an assist for the opener against Finland.

Vicky López
Another talent from Barcelona, López faced the daunting task of stepping in for Aitana Bonmatí at the start of the tournament.
She was entirely unfazed.
López, 18, shone and scored in the 5-0 win over Portugal, then assisted in the 6-2 defeat of Belgium, and offered a different kind of threat out wide off the bench in the win against Italy.
Signe Gaupset
Introduced midway through Norway's second game, with them level against Finland but struggling to impress, Gaupset offered a real threat down the left.
That performance saw her earn a star against Iceland and the winger, who turned 20 in June, was the best player on the pitch, scoring twice and assisting twice in a 4-3 win.

Look out for her against Italy on Wednesday.

Barcelona honors Kobe Bryant with new jersey bearing brand logo

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — Spanish soccer club Barcelona is paying tribute to NBA legend Kobe Bryant with its second uniform launched Tuesday. The five-time European champion said its new jersey will replace the usual Nike swoosh logo 'with the 'Kobe Sheath' — the sword in the sheath logo that identifies the Kobe Bryant brand.' Barcelona said the club had a special relationship with Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash in Southern California in 2020. He made appearances alongside club members and first-team players during his visits to Barcelona and when the club visited the United States. 'The shorts are black with Persian violet details and a textured snakeskin outline, a reference to the Black Mamba alter ego of Kobe,' Barcelona said. The change, made in collaboration with Nike, will last three seasons. 'All in all, it is part of a brand collaboration between the NBA legend and FC Barcelona that is born out of a shared culture of sporting excellence that characterized Bryant and is also part of FC Barcelona's DNA,' the club said. 'This agreement aims to keep alive that notion of brotherhood and at the same time create a link between Kobe fans and FC Barcelona to make the global impact of the American's legacy even greater amongst the sporting community and fans." ___ AP soccer:

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen has successful back surgery

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen underwent successful back surgery on Tuesday, the club said. Barcelona did not say how long Ter Stegen will be sidelined, but the player had said the recovery time would be about three months. Ter Stegen needed the operation to address persistent lower back problems. The 33-year-old German missed nearly all of last season because of a tendon rupture in his knee, and in 2023 he missed about two months because of another back operation. Barcelona added Espanyol goalkeeper Joan García to its squad last month. Iñaki Peña was the team's reserve goalkeeper last season. ___ AP soccer:
