Review: RE Coffee is shaping the future of cafes
Located in Fountain Valley, RE Coffee features a simplistic yet modern interior, creating a welcoming space for catching up with friends or getting some work done. With a motto of 'slowly but surely,' the name RE refers to 'RE-connection,' focusing on the cafe's aim to encourage a sense of community through the art of barista craft.
ARCHITECTURE Inspired by the trendy architecture of Vietnamese cafes, RE Coffee boasts a quiet 'downtown' style, creating a space for calmness amidst the busy city. Stepping through the entrance, visitors are sure to be immersed in the relaxing and tranquil atmosphere. The architectural style is simplistic yet modern, making you focus more on the experience while enhancing the overall mood. Though the shop had an overall dark interior, the abundance of sunlight created an uplifting atmosphere for those wanting to spend their time in the sun. Subtle yet unique highlight pieces adorned each corner, and gentle R&B music shaped the ambiance of the shop.
RE Coffee boasts both an outdoor and indoor seating area, allowing visitors to choose their environment for the day. Despite being a popular spot, the shop remarkably did not feel rushed; however, for those looking for a quick coffee stop, RE Coffee may not be your best bet. The waiting time was rather long, and drink sizes were smaller for their price.
With that being said, here are our reviews of just some of the many treats offered at RE Coffee.
MATCHA LATTE | $6.00

As a frequent matcha latte enjoyer, I was more than impressed with the taste and quality of the matcha. The matcha latte was beautifully whisked from the start, each drink carefully crafted for the visitors themselves.
The matcha latte base was not overwhelmingly sweet, creating a smooth and velvety texture that delighted my palate. One of the standout features was the impeccable balance achieved in the matcha-to-milk ratio. The latte had a perfect equilibrium, allowing both the robust earthiness of the matcha and the creamy sweetness of the whole milk to shine through harmoniously.
Beyond the taste and texture, the presentation of the matcha latte was a visual delight. The vibrant green hue of the matcha, combined with the creamy white of the milk, created a picturesque contrast that added to the overall aesthetic appeal.
In addition to the classic matcha latte, RE also offers a Black Sesame Matcha Latte, Blueberry Oat Milk Matcha, and Yuzu Matcha Tonic.
MAPLE CINNAMON LATTE| $6.00

This seasonal concoction is a cozy double-shot latte featuring maple syrup, cinnamon, whole milk, and a hint of orange. Aesthetically, this drink is a feast for the eyes. The creamy mixture makes the customer feel enticed by its brown waves of goodness.
Upon the first sip, my taste buds were immediately embraced by the cinnamon and espresso lovingly mixed into this drink. The cinnamon elevates this drink from a regular latte into a cozy seasonal drink. Diving in for more, my second sip was a little different…orange? Yes, there was an actual orange slice in my drink! Surprisingly, it added a freshness that was needed in such a fall-heavy drink. The subtle notes of maple syrup were just the right amount of sweetness as well. As I arrived at the end of my latte, the orange flavor waved a final goodbye among the cinnamon dredges.
One qualm that I do have about this drink is the lack of milk alternatives. This may be due to the fact that it is a seasonal drink, making sense for its lack of plant-based milk.
HAM AND CHEESE CROISSANT | $5.25
Bacon and Cheese Croissant. (Photo by Tessa Nacke)
Topped with fragrant sesame seeds, the impeccable combination of ham and cheese created an enticing aroma to die for. The crispy bacon offers a savory flavor, contrasting the hints of the sweetness of the croissant. Extremely filling, the pastry was a two-person job, a size worthy of its price. The croissant had a buttery and flaky crust, with a cloud-like texture, making it a perfect lunch or snack. The flavors paired flawlessly with the drinks ordered, and one bite led to another, making it an irresistible treat worth savoring again and again. Related

Scott and Kelley Wolf have reached a temporary agreement as the 'Party of Five' alum's restraining order against his estranged wife was dismissed by a Utah judge on Saturday, July 19, according to People. Court documents obtained by the outlet revealed that the former couple reached a temporary stipulated agreement four days earlier that outlined custody arrangements, visitation rights, and communication guidelines involving their three kids. 7 Scott Wolf running errands in Park City, Utah, after his restraining order against estranged wife Kelley Wolf was granted on June 25. Kelley was also permitted supervised parenting time as coordinated by counsel and three supervised video or phone calls per week with Jackson, Miller and Lucy, per the July 15 agreement. Plus, Kelley is allowed to respond should her and Scott's children be the ones to initiate contact with her. As for the communication guidelines laid out in the estranged couple's agreement, neither the 'Everwood' actor nor Kelley can talk about adult issues, their divorce or their children's relationship with the other parent in front of or with the kids. 7 Scott and Kelley Wolf with their three children, Jackson, Miller and Lucy. kelleywolf/Instagram Both Scott and Kelley are prohibited from insulting the other verbally or in writing, and neither one can question their children about what might be taking place at the other parent's home. Meanwhile, the 'Nancy Drew' actor will maintain the exclusive use of his and Kelley's Park City, Utah home, as well as control of their marital funds. However, he must cover household expenses and temporarily provide Kelley with $10K per month for living costs. Scott will also cover his ex's car payments, minimum credit card payments and a portion of her attorney fees. 7 Scott and Kelley Wolf smiling for the camera one year before their sudden split. Scott Wolf/Instagram The divorce drama between the 'Night Shift' star and his now-estranged wife kicked off last month when Kelley took to social media to announce that she and Scott were divorcing after 21 years of marriage. 'It is with a heavy heart that Scott and I are moving forward with the dissolution of our marriage,' the former 'Real World' star wrote on Instagram on June 10. Scott later confirmed to The Post that he was the one who filed for divorce from Kelley. 7 Kelley and Scott Wolf during the 2005 Park City Marquee opening night party in Park City, Utah. 'Our children have always been, and continue to be, the loves of our lives and our every priority, so I kindly ask for privacy at this time as we help guide them through this new chapter,' the actor added at the time. The divorce drama then escalated on June 13 when Kelley was detained by sheriffs in Utah County and placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold following a 'family fight' at the pair's home. 7 Scott and Kelley Wolf attend the Samsung Galaxy Tab Lift on January 23, 2011, in Park City, Utah. Check out San Francisco's newest escape room and speakeasy
Inside an unassuming storefront with a discreet "Puzzle Shop" sign on 16th Street in the Mission, you'll find Lore, a speakeasy and escape room bringing an "Alice in Wonderland"-inspired immersive experience. How it works: Guests have one hour and 40 minutes to solve a series of puzzles in numerous rooms, filled with interactive games and live actors. A flight of three cocktails or mocktails is included. Visitors can also skip the escape room and head straight to the speakeasy, which serves Asian fusion dishes and cocktails inspired by dishes like Korean cold noodles and Vietnamese phở. Zoom in: After spending her life savings on opening Lore, founder and owner Vy Tran took to Reddit to share her journey on becoming a first-time business owner. She initially "braced for the worst," but acknowledged the process has been "surprisingly good." she wrote. What they're saying: "It just seemed like a really good time to build something six months ago, when I heard about all these programs that San Francisco was doing to fill their vacant storefronts," Tran tells Axios. The intrigue: Tran said the city was also missing a "cool, New York-style cocktail bar."
