Full sunshine & warmer for Mother's Day, elevated fire danger

Yahoo11-05-2025

The Latest from Storm Team 5…
A cool front moved in last night, which did bring temperatures down a bit today but nothing too dramatic with highs in the 60s and low 70s.
For tonight with clear skies expected, temperatures will cool off quickly once again, falling into the upper 30s to around 40, which is seasonally cool. Patchy frost is possible far north with lows into the middle 30s.
Plan on full sunshine all day long for Mother's Day! Highs into the middle and upper 70s to around 80 with lower 60s lakeside. A south wind will be noticeable between 10-15mph.
Need to continue to mention that we have elevated fire danger in northeast Wisconsin. The air and ground is very dry and pair that with a gusty wind and sunshine, fires can spread quickly in these elements. Outdoor burning is not advised for the time being.
A Fire Weather Watch has been issued for Langlade and northern Marinette counties from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday.
The warmest air of the season arrives Monday, with temperatures away from the water into the low to middle 80s, lower 70s lakeside!
It will get a little humid by mid week which will likely increase the chance for some pop up thundershowers. Better chance will reside further south and west of Green Bay on Tuesday, all have a chance for a pop up t-shower on Wednesday.
Keep an eye out on Thursday, as a wave of low pressure will move in. PM & evening thunderstorms are possible that could be on the stronger side, something to monitor.

Severe night storms hit North Texas with 80 mph winds, causing widespread damage

Clean up, repairs begin after night of storms in North Texas Clean up, repairs begin after night of storms in North Texas Clean up, repairs begin after night of storms in North Texas Sunday night's storm had winds around 80 mph, dangerous conditions that caused massive amounts of damage across the entire metroplex. One of the hardest-hit places was Bonham, where wind and rain caused trees to hit homes and power lines all over town. Sunday night's storm was downright scary, just ask Preston Curry. "I was about to cry because, like, I don't, I'm scared of the dark," said Curry. He slept on the floor in his parents' room. He wasn't the only one feeling that way. "All around me. The house right across the street has had a tree. So tall, big old tree. And it's uprooted," said Philip Blander. Blander said he woke up to debris covering his street after the storm subsided. "I had an appointment in Sherman today at 10:30 a.m., and I couldn't hardly get out," he said. Nothing hit his house, but his friend David Johnson wasn't as lucky. "This morning, we went out there. Look, half of it split, and it fell in the yard. The other half fell all over there toward my kitchen, on top of the roof," said Johnson. A metal roof was completely ripped off a building downtown near the post office. While it took out a power line, somehow no one was hurt. That's something everyone we spoke to said they were thankful for. "I'm just glad that I survived this," said Blander. "Not lucky. I'm blessed. I'm blessed. Yeah. I'm blessed ... And I'm just glad nobody was hurt," said Johnson.

Early evening t-storm chance today, drier and warmer tomorrow

The Latest from Storm Team 5… An upper level low has slowly been moving across the state today, sparking scattered showers and a few embedded thunderstorms. For this evening, a few more scattered showers and storms are possible, one or two of which could produce small hail and a brief downpour, but we should be rain free around bed time tonight. Lows tonight will fall into the the upper 40s and low 50s. Tomorrow will start with clouds with a very small chance of passing shower, but the afternoon will feature more sunshine. Highs will return to the lower and middle 70s. Mostly sunny skies on Wednesday, with highs in the low to middle 80s. Thankfully, humidity should stay in check with dew points only reaching the low to mid 50s. Beyond this point, a fairly unsettled weather pattern will move in. A stationary boundary will set up to our south, bringing waves of rain showers and below average temperatures. First rain chance looks to be Wednesday night into Thursday, favoring areas south of Green Bay. Friday looks to be the day where all of us have a good chance to see rain. Early call is Flag Day and Fathers Day will both be dry. For all your latest updates on the weather, follow Ryan on Facebook, X and Instagram. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
