Love Island UK fans 'never been happier' as 2025 winners are crowned
The summer of love has come to an end as Love Island UK season 12 declared its winning couple – Toni and Cach. The finale of the ITV reality dating series took place tonight as the nation voted on their favourite couple out of Harry Cooksley and Shakira Khan, Jamie Rhodes and Yasmin Pettet, Cach Mercer and Toni Laites, and Angel Swift and Ty Isherwood. All four duos, barely exclusive by the final episode, have faced their ups and downs on the Maya Jama-hosted show in their quest to find true love. During the finale the pairs enjoyed a finale dinner in which they all made sweet speeches to one another about the happiness they have found with each other which left some viewers teary-eyed and others 'cringing' at the cheesy display. Coming in fourth place are Angel and Ty who 'can't wait for life on the outside', in third we have Yasmin and Jamie who 'felt the spark' from the first moment they kissed and in second place Harry and Shakira. Ultimately, however, Toni and Cach won over the hearts of the nation and join winners past including last year's Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan, Ekin-Su and Davide, and Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea. Fans have plenty of thoughts about the final victors – which also makes Toni the first American winner in a UK season ever. 'I have NEVER been happier for love island winners,' Ab wrote on X. 'And there we have it guys, our 2025 Love island winners TONI AND CACH So well deserved! This was the perfect ending to this season, the trio as our top 3 was all I could ever ask for. This is the first time I'm truly impressed with the British public,' Tima added. ' Elsewhere in the episode we caught up with the Islanders who bid adieu throughout the series and got confirmation that Harrison and Lauren were now exclusive. The chat with Maya spilt plenty of tea with two of the boys – Ben and Tommy – realising they kissed the same woman… at the same event. Love Island has faced scrutiny this season from fans and organisations such as Women's Aid for platforming men exhibiting toxic behaviour, such as contestant Harris Solomon's treatment of Toni and ex-Islander Lauren Wood. In fact, the 2025 season is the second most complained-about series ever to Ofcom, with a staggering 9,000 complaints, largely to do with bullying allegations involving Shakira. More Trending Elsewhere, viewers were left less than impressed by Megan and Dejon getting hot and steamy under the covers. It's not been all smooth sailing for the recently-axed pair, however, with an 'uncomfortable to watch' row between the two prompting fans to call for Dejon's removal. Football club Farnham Town, for whom Harry plays as a midfielder, also came under fire after posting a video of his fellow team players and managers sharing negative commentary on the two women he was involved with on the show – Shakira and Helena Ford.
