Jeremy Clarkson's pub staff walk out after 'too many problems'

Prime Video viewers have been getting an insight into the opening of Jeremy Clarkson's pub and it revealed staff walked out at the time of its launch. The season four finale of Clarkson's Farm on Prime Video exposed all the challenges during The Farmer's Dog's tumultuous opening over the August bank holiday of 2024.
Jeremy found himself addressing the trouble in a candid conversation with farm manager Charlie Ireland. After speaking highly of his staff in earlier episodes, describing them as friendly and ever-smiling, he reluctantly revealed: "We've lost two waitresses. We lost a pot washer. After one day."

To add further insult to injury, pressure mounted during a distressing meeting with senior team members Sue and Rachel at the pub, where they highlighted big problems, reports the Express.

They told Jeremy: "Everyone is exhausted, even when we say go for a break, there is no staff room."

"They're weeing in a portaloo. It's not lovely conditions. They love you. They're excited about the British food," they tried to reassure Jeremy.

Jeremy stating firmly: "I have no problem with the staff," before adding, "Not one single problem with the staff. They're all brilliant. They are smiling. They are nice."
However, Sue and Rachel indicated that further attention might be needed in the kitchen, which was on the cusp of crisis.
"The kitchen is about to go pop, those chefs have had it.... It might be worth popping into the kitchen," they suggested.

Jeremy, who was worn out from working non-stop on the farm while also preparing the pub for its opening, was deeply offended by this suggestion and retorted: "Do you want me to go and find a manager? Or go back into the kitchen?"
"Or do you want me to mend the leak? Or do you want me to deal with the car parking issues? Or do you want me to deal with the neighbours? Do you want me to deal with the council? I've got plenty to be doing and I'll get on with it. Thank you."

This outburst was the last straw for the pair, who shortly after quit.
Undefeated Jeremy said: "We've worked out if we shut the lavatories and use plastic glasses instead of glass ones, we'll have enough water to serve food until six.
"The next problem is Sue and Rachel, who brilliantly set up the pub, have now left. So it's a Sunday morning, I've managed to get a new front of house person who is the head of sixth form at the local village school. That's good."
