Kataeb Party delegation meets Rahi
A Kataeb Party delegation visited Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Rahi at Bkerke, sent by party leader MP Samy Gemayel, to offer New Year's greetings.
The delegation included members of the Kataeb Political Bureau, Former Minister Alain Hakim, Lina Jalkh, and Maroun Assaf.
After the meeting, Hakim stated: "We briefed His Beatitude on the most recent updates, emphasizing that the Kataeb Party categorically rejects the provocations occurring in certain Lebanese areas. We warned against the danger of processions and motorcycles circulating in peaceful, populated neighborhoods."
He stressed the need for swift and proactive intervention by security forces to put an end to this phenomenon, noting that the Kataeb Party would confront any escalation in the future.
Regarding the government formation process, Hakim emphasized that the Kataeb Party fully supports the president in the formation efforts and stands with the Prime Minister-designate to form a government free from preconditions or personal considerations, while ensuring a balance among all political parties to establish a functional government that serves the national interest.
Hakim conveyed Patriarch Rahi's confirmation that political positions must be balanced and acceptable.
The Patriarch also expressed hope for the cessation of street provocations, stressing that security must be under the control of the state, represented by the Lebanese Armed Forces and legitimate security forces.

Lebanon reportedly warns Hezbollah against joining Iran-Israel confrontation
by Naharnet Newsdesk 9 hours The Lebanese Army has communicated with Hezbollah as part of 'holding onto the Lebanese principles and refusing that Lebanon be dragged into any confrontation,' governmental sources told Al-Jadeed TV, after Israel launched a massive attack on Iran. 'The government stressed that the decision of war and peace is exclusively in the hand of the Lebanese state,' the sources added. Lebanese officials meanwhile told Al-Arabiya's Al-Hadath channel that 'Hezbollah has been informed that anyone who drags Lebanon into any confrontation that it has nothing to do with will be held responsible.' 'Lebanon informed Hezbollah of its condemnation of the Israeli attack but that it will not allow that the country be entangled in any response,' the sources said. A Hezbollah official later told Reuters that the Iran-backed group will not unilaterally launch an attack on Israel in support of Tehran.
