LiAngelo Ball Quit $3K A Month In The G League To Rap, Can You Blame Him?
LiAngelo Ball has made a big switch from basketball to music, and according to him, it was an easy choice.
Swerving and bending that corner has made him more than posting up and shooting. In a recent interview with the Bag Fuel podcast, he shared that while playing in the NBA G League, he was only making $3,000 a month. As a grown man trying to build a life, that paycheck wasn't cutting it. So when he started getting paid from music, he didn't think twice. 'I wasn't sitting there like, 'Damn, I gotta keep hooping,'' he said.
His song 'Tweaker' went viral and helped him land a major record deal with Def Jam and Universal Music Group. The deal is rumored to be worth up to $13 million, with $8 million guaranteed, a huge step up from what he was making in basketball.

In July, Ball dropped his first album, League of My Own , where he opened up about some of the personal drama he's been going through. Earlier in the year, as 'Tweaker' was blowing up, his ex and mother of his children, Miss Nikki Baby, called him out on social media. She accused him of leaving her and their kids for another woman, Rashida Nicole, and said he was an absent father.
Ball denied those claims and chose to respond in his music. On his song 'Wine N Dine,' he raps, 'They kick me when I'm down, so can you pick me up? / Say I'm a deadbeat daddy who don't give no f-cks.' The lyrics show that he's trying to tell his side of the story and express how all the drama has affected him.
LiAngelo's move into music is about more than just the money; it's about doing what makes him happy and taking control of his own path. So far, it looks like that choice is working out.
See social media's reaction to him switching careers below.

Design In The Detail: 9 Songs That Pharrell Williams Is Secretly Featured On
Source: Goedefroit Music / Getty Pharrell Williams has never needed to be front and center to make his presence felt. Over the course of three decades, the Virginia native has mastered the art of leaving his fingerprints on a track, sometimes so subtly that casual listeners might not even realize he's there. Whether he's adding a few background ad-libs, sprinkling in harmonies, or lending his unmistakable production touch, Pharrell knows how to shift the energy of a song without overshadowing the main act. It's part of what makes him one of the most versatile and enduring figures in music. Long before the world knew him as the guy in the mountain hat, Pharrell was quietly shaping the sound of an entire era. As one-half of The Neptunes alongside Chad Hugo, he crafted timeless hits for everyone from Jay-Z and Britney Spears to Justin Timberlake and Snoop Dogg. His work blurred genre lines, effortlessly merging hip hop, R&B, pop, and funk in ways that made his style instantly recognizable; even when his name wasn't in the credits. That same magic has carried into his vocal features, where he often slides on a track like a sonic easter egg that fans have to discover. It's this chameleon-like quality that keeps Pharrell so exciting. Some artists rely on a big rollout or a flashy feature to make noise; Pharrell often does the opposite. He thrives in the background, adding depth and texture to a song in ways that reward close listening. His contributions can be as small as a single 'yeah' in the right spot or as involved as reworking an entire rhythm section. Either way, the result is a track that feels elevated, fresher, and more alive. In honor of his genius and his unmatched knack for sneaking onto records, we've put together a playlist of songs where Pharrell's presence might surprise you. Some you may recognize instantly, others might make you double back and hit replay with a new ear. Either way, they're proof that when Pharrell is in the mix, whether in the spotlight or just behind it, you can bet the song has unparalleled touch! Note: All the songs were produced by Pharrell/The Neptunes and most were co-written or written by him. Cam'Ron & Omar Gooding Back-And-Forth Beef Continues To Escalate
Cam'Ron is known for his sarcastic humor and wit and is employing the full brunt of his powers against his foe, actor Cuba Gooding. Adding fuel to the growing blaze, Cam'Ron pulled the rug out from under Cuba Gooding after booking him in Miami for a film that ended up being nothing more than an elaborate prank. According to a report from TMZ, it appears the beef began when Cam'Ron confused Omar Gooding for his older brother, Cuba Gooding. From there, the two engaged in a back-and-forth that sparked three diss songs from Gooding, who raps under the name Big O, and for what it's worth, the songs were actually sharp in their aim. Killa Cam, forever the trickster, managed to get Gooding to fly down to Miami to meet with several movie producers for the fake role, employing people actually in the business to pull off the prank who were close to Cam'Ron. This footage shows Gooding shirtless and doing push-ups, which Cam'Ron gleefully shared. And despite Gooding showing some flair on the musical tip, the footage Cam shared on his Instagram page involving the stunt was less than flattering. It doesn't appear that Omar Gooding is all that upset about being exposed and pranked, as Cam'Ron believes. Gooding responded with an Instagram video himself, saying he has a song in the tuck that will expose the Harlem rapper's dirty laundry and warns him to keep it civil. Check out some of the clips below. — Photo: Getty SEE ALSO Cam'Ron & Omar Gooding Back-And-Forth Beef Continues To Escalate was originally published on
