Max Holloway reacts to being betting favorite to headline UFC White House event
U.S. President Donald Trump announced this past week, with subsequent confirmation from UFC officials, that the octagon will land in Washington, D.C., for an event to celebrate America's 250th birthday. A date has not been confirmed, but with July 4 being on a Saturday, it could land on that date.

After the news surfaced, betting website BetOnline released odds of fighters who could headline the prospective event. The biggest favorite at +250 was Dustin Poirier, who will retire at UFC 318 on July 19 when he takes on Holloway, who was listed as the second biggest favorite at +300.
"On the lawn, bro? You know what I mean? My first ever amateur kickboxing fight was in a lawn," Holloway told MMA Junkie when informed of the betting odds in an interview facilitated by Stake.com. "Why not headline a fight at the White House on the lawn? Would be ridiculous. That'd be huge. That'd be cool."
If UFC hosting an event at the White House does materialize, there's plenty of runway until that time arrives on who could be available to compete. Jon Jones and Conor McGregor have expressed a desire, but unlike both, Holloway is active and reliable.
The possibility already has Holloway's mind moving, and he thinks to make the night all the more special, the fight-night bonuses should be converted into tax breaks.

"Getting to be able to do that would be huge," Holloway said. "Then maybe they do something like, on the bonuses you don't pay taxes or something. Instead of taking money just say, 'No taxes for this this year for the Performance of the Night winner.' Hell yeah please."

Alexander Volkanovski backs Max Holloway to beat Dustin Poirier at UFC 318
Alexander Volkanovski isn't ready to write off Max Holloway just yet. Holloway (26-8 MMA, 22-8 UFC) defends his BMF title in a trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier (30-9 MMA, 22-8 UFC) in Saturday's UFC 318 (pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+) main event from Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. Holloway is 0-2 against Poirier and coming off the first knockout loss of his career against Ilia Topuria at UFC 308. "Blessed" is 0-3 against UFC featherweight champion Volkanovski, but Volkanovski sees him regaining top form just like he did after their trilogy. "He's coming off the first knockout loss ever. Not many people can bounce back from that," Volkanovski told Fox Sports Australia of Holloway. "A lot of people change after that. But there's only few that can bounce back in a positive way, and I know he's one of them. "I know he'll be the type of guy to make the right adjustments or come back not only the same guy he was, maybe even look better. You might see Max even better. I think he's that type of guy that can come back with a bounce back – not only bounce back to where he was, which was already incredible, but bounce back even more than that. If he does that, it just shows you how good that bloke is." Despite questions surrounding Holloway's durability after getting knocked out in his last fight, Volkanovski is picking him to win. "I'm going to go with Max," Volkanovski said. "Obviously he's coming off a KO loss, which is something that's going to be a big factor. Not many people can bounce back from a KO loss. There's very few that can, and I think Max is definitely one of them. "I think you're maybe going to see the same Max or an even more improved Max now that he's going to even be that little bit more calculated, because you know he can. You know he's tough, you know he's got a lot of skills, but now to have even more of a calculated approach, I think he's going to be one tough man to beat."

NASCAR Rumor: Ram eyes reality show driver tryout with UFC's Dana White's support
Ram is getting serious about its NASCAR comeback and it might do it in a way no one saw coming. According to reports, the truck brand is working on a reality show to find its future drivers, and UFC president Dana White is already showing interest in getting involved. Last month, Ram officially announced its return to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2026 after more than a decade away. While they haven't finalized which teams they'll partner with yet, a tryout show is reportedly in the works to help build their driver lineup. Think Roush Racing: Driver X, the mid-2000s Discovery Channel series where drivers competed for a shot with Jack Roush's team, but with a 2025 twist. Dana White, who helped make The Ultimate Fighter a launching pad for UFC talent, told Sports Business Journal that teaming up with Ram for this project is 'very possible.' He's already worked with Ram before as his voice was featured in one of their recent 'Never Stop Being American' ads. And a show like this fits both his and Ram's style: loud, bold, and all about finding the next big thing. Also Read:: Jimmie Johnson's NASCAR team just scored a massive multi-year deal with $22billion retail giant Ram's reality show plans take shape One name already being floated for the show is Cleetus McFarland, the YouTuber and ARCA driver who's built a massive following around fast cars and wild racing content. Sports Business Journal's Adam Stern reported that McFarland could be part of the new Ram-backed Truck Series team, especially if the reality show idea takes off. Having a crossover name like Cleetus would bring even more attention to the project. On the team side, Ram is still figuring things out. They've reportedly been in talks with GMS Racing and Retta Jones Racing, though Niece Motorsports recently confirmed they're sticking with Chevrolet. So the search for partners is still ongoing. Provided nothing goes wrong, the show may begin filming in 2025, before Ram actually makes a start in the Truck Series in 2026. No confirmation of airtime or format as of yet, although with Dana White potentially involved, there is likely to be something intense, competitive and audience-friendly to look forward to. If this reality show happens, it could be one of the most unique ways a team has ever built a driver lineup in the sport's history.
