Malaysia's first female K-pop idol Alicia Wong Lingling has finally made her industry debut recently, with the release of her group KIIRAS' first single. On May 29, its agency Leanbranding officially released the music video for Kill Ma Bo$$, which is currently racking up 262,151 views and over 28,000 likes on YouTube. It has also received positive reviews for its fresh Americana and Country R&B concept, riding at the back of the popular musical trend. With an overdriven guitar line at the background, the song is a fierce, playful anthem about taking control, breaking free from authority, and owning one's power with confidence, charm, and a rebellious killer attitude. Taking centre stage was none other than group leader Lingling, donning a denim vest, cowboy hat and riding a horse. She radiates youthful charm and lively energy, while alongside her, KIIRAS members captivate viewers with dynamic choreography and colourful styling. A promotional video was uploaded weeks prior, which featured singer-actor Eum Moon-suk and Seo In-guk, whom K-drama fans might recognise from Death's Game (2023) or the South Korean reality-documentary show Law of the Jungle. The official teaser for the music video was released shortly after, further building anticipation ahead of the full release. The music video was supposed to be a pre-release, but it changed to a debut, and it continues to gain views and spark conversations on social media, as fans eagerly await what's next for this newly formed six-member girl group. Together with Lingling, the full line-up of KIIRAS — Harin, Kurumi, Kylie, Doyeon, and Roah — was officially announced earlier this month, and they have since performed the song in M Countdown, the weekly music show at Korean broadcaster Mnet. - Malay Mail * Follow us on our official WhatsApp channel and Telegram for breaking news alerts and key updates! * Do you have access to the Daily Express e-paper and online exclusive news? Elon Musk is not the father of my kids: Ayumi Hamasaki sets the record straight

Ayumi Hamasaki went on social media earlier this week to quash rthe umours that Elon Musk is her baby daddy. Photos: Ayumi Hamasaki/Instagram, AP Japanese pop diva Ayumi Hamasaki would like you to know that Elon Musk is not the father of her two children, thank you very much. This misunderstanding stemmed from a New York Times article in late May, where one of Musk's ex-flames, Ashley St. Clair, said that the American billionaire had fathered the child of "a Japanese pop star". Some netizens believe it's Japanese TV personality Tenka Hashimoto, while others suspect it's 46-year-old Hamasaki. For the record, Musk, 53, has already fathered 14 children with several different women. Hamasaki went on social media earlier this week to quash the rumours. 'I've been keeping an eye on this, and I guess it's time for me to speak up. Elon Musk is not the father of [either of] my kids," the singer said on Instagram on June 2. The J-pop star, who has been married twice, has two children aged six and four. She has remained tight-lipped about their father's identity. Hamasaki is more amused than upset at the rumours. She said: "I mean, I can understand if someone were to think it seems like the sort of thing I'd do. Even my mum laughed when she heard the rumours, saying, 'This seems kind of Ayu-like'." Hamasaki added that she felt the need to set the record straight for the sake of her children. 'Setting aside my personal image, when my kids are old enough to start Googling things I don't want them to run into the rumours and think they're true, so I'm firmly denying them," she said.

#SHOWBIZ: Mimifly dedicates 'Sahabat' to 'loving big brother' Jojo

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Mimifly, whose real name is Mimi Norhisham, has released a heartfelt tribute to her "loving big brother, sifu, and soul mate," Jojo Hasan Baias, who passed away from a heart ailment on Jan 26. Titled Sahabat, Mimi's heartfelt tribute to Jojo premiered as a music video at 11.11am today on her official YouTube channel. Sahabat, co-composed by Mimi and Bo Curley with lyrics by Mimi, serves as a deeply personal farewell to her dear friend and fellow One Nation Emcees member. In a statement released today, Mimi shared: "Our friendship went beyond music — it was built on trust, loyalty, and shared dreams. Sahabat captures that bond in both melody and words, and I've poured all my emotions into the lyrics as a message of gratitude, remembrance, and love." The music video brings these emotions to life through a retro-inspired visual concept, thoughtfully crafted with Mimi's own creative input. "The nostalgic feel, vintage styling, and expressive cinematography were carefully planned to reflect the soul of the song," she explained. Mimi has once again collaborated with Konda Kondi Studio, a production team that she feels shares a "similar wavelength, creative synergy, and commitment to storytelling with heart." Sahabat has also been chosen as the official end-credit song for the film Mencari Ramlee, which premieres on June 19. "I hope that this music video will resonate with fans and new audiences alike — serving as both a tribute to a beloved friend and a reminder of how music preserves the people and memories we carry in our hearts." Mimi will also donate proceeds from the song to Jojo's widow, Siti Rohayu Saharudin, whom she regards as family. "Thank you, Jojo, for the laughter, the stages we shared, and the joy you brought to my life from the beginning," Mimi expressed. "One Nation Emcees was not just a group; we were family."
