Ex-MLA Lingaiah labelled as a disturber of peace
Nakrekal (Nalgonda): Tension prevailed near Nakrekal Police Station in Nalgonda district as a large group of women staged a protest demanding the arrest of former MLA Chirumarthi Lingaiah and BRS state leader Cheruku Sudhakar.
The protest was triggered following the arrest of a BRS social media activist Nagendra Babu by the police on Friday. In response, former MLA Lingaiah visited the police station and allegedly lashed out at Circle Inspector Rajashekar.
The women alleged that Babu was posting false and misleading content on social media. They claimed that instead of supporting police action, former MLA Lingaiah was spreading baseless allegations and blaming the Congress party, which they condemned as inappropriate.
The women further accused BRS leaders of creating unrest in peaceful villages. Holding placards and raising slogans, the women demanded the immediate arrest of both Chirumarthi Lingaiah for making false allegations, and Cheruku Sudhakar for his alleged involvement in inciting disturbances.
Later, the protestors submitted a formal representation to the CI. The demonstration saw significant participation from local women, asserting their stand against misinformation and political provocation.
It may be mentioned here that the former Nakrekal MLA Lingaiah, on Friday, had alleged that police were acting like Congress agents and targeting BRS activists for questioning on social media.
He had condemned the arrest of BRS worker Nagendra Babu from Mangalapally village, who posted a comment in a local WhatsApp group that went viral.
Earlier this week, Lingaiah also alleged harassment by officials backed by the ruling party. He alleged that despite making 26 phone calls to the District Collector regarding an issue, there was no response, which forced him to approach the Grievance Day programme on Monday where, after a lengthy argument with the Collector, he submitted his complaint.
He further alleged that former Nakrekal Market Committee Chairman Koppula Pradeep Reddy and former Chinnakaparthy Sarpanch Boya Vanishreen's representations were being ignored deliberately.
He claimed officials were submitting false reports under pressure from the ruling party and MLA as part of a political conspiracy against Pradeep Reddy.

During his visit, PM Modi criticised opposition parties in Bihar for the slow progress of the state during their tenure. He said that the Congress and RJD supported Gundaraj and corruption. "RJD and Congress are against Bihar and investments. They can never make a place in the heart of Biharis," the Prime Minister said. Intensifying his criticism of the INDIA bloc allies, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the RJD and Congress of undermining the self-respect of the people of Bihar, "My Bihari brothers and sisters show their mettle by working even in the most difficult situations. They never compromise with his self-respect. But the people with the Panja (Congress) and the lantern (RJD) together have greatly hurt Bihar's self-respect." The Bihar Assembly elections are expected to be held later this year, in October or November; however, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has not yet announced the exact dates. While the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) seeks to retain power, the INDIA bloc, comprising the RJD and Congress, aims to oust it. Jan Suraaj, led by Prashant Kishor, is also seeking the people's mandate.

Month long E-Khata campaign in July: DKS
Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru Development Minister D.K. Shivakumar announced that a month-long campaign will be held from July 1 to issue E-Khatas to property owners in the city. Speaking at a first-of-its-kind E-Khata mela at Sahakarnagar, Byatarayanapura Assembly constituency represented by Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda on Sunday, Mr. Shivakumar termed protection of properties against fraudulent transactions through E-Khatas as another 'guarantee' by the Congress government. He said of the over 25 lakh properties in Bengaluru, E-Khatas were issued to 5.34 lakh properties already. 'The E-Khata programme has won a gold medal for e-governance initiative by the Union government. Combined with Nambike Nakshe, under which we have given deemed plan sanctions to over 9,000 buildings online, e-Khata programme is essentially bringing civic services to your doorstep and cutting down on corruption,' he said. The mela in Sahakarnagar saw overwhelming response with over 4,000 tokens issued to E-Khata applicants and 677 final E-Khatas issued at the spot on Sunday. Responding to demands by property owners in the constituency, the mela has been extended to Monday as well. Of the 1.81 lakh properties in Byatarayanapura, over 51,000 properties have been issued E-Khatas. Mr. Shivakumar said that similar E-Khata melas will be held in other Assembly constituencies as well.

The event drew a significant crowd and saw the active participation of local BJP leaders, youth, and villagers. The chief guest of the event was T. He contrasted this with the previous 60 years of Congress rule, which he claimed were marked by inefficiency and lack of vision.
