BJP Organizes ‘Rachabanda' in Eklaspur Highlighting 11 Years of Modi's Development-Oriented Governance
Gadwal: A spirited 'Rachabanda' (public interaction program) was organized in Eklaspur village under the leadership of BJP Mandal President Gopalakrishna. The event drew a significant crowd and saw the active participation of local BJP leaders, youth, and villagers.
The chief guest of the event was T. RamAnjaneyulu, BJP Jogulamba Gadwal District President, who addressed the gathering with a powerful speech highlighting the achievements of the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He proudly noted that Narendra Modi has now completed 11 years as Prime Minister, having recently been elected for a third consecutive term—a remarkable feat that he described as a testament to the people's faith in honest and development-oriented governance.
RamAnjaneyulu emphasized that during Modi's tenure:
Every village and town across India has been touched by welfare schemes funded by the Central Government.
Infrastructure improvements such as CC roads, rural nature parks, and cleanliness drives under Swachh Bharat, as well as Rythu Vedikas (Farmer Halls), have been completed.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the distribution of free rice was done seamlessly, and nutritious food continues to be supplied to Anganwadi centers.
On matters of national security, he referred to the recent confrontation with Pakistan, citing India's strong retaliation in the "Sindhur" operation, asserting that 'no country dares to threaten India under Modi's leadership.'
India has fostered strong economic, industrial, and diplomatic ties with countries around the world.
Programs like Bharatmala National Highways have significantly improved infrastructure, and funds are being directly transferred to village sarpanches, empowering grassroots governance.
Schemes like the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi have directly benefited farmers.
He contrasted this with the previous 60 years of Congress rule, which he claimed were marked by inefficiency and lack of vision. In contrast, he described Modi's 11 years in office as a golden era of governance and development.

Centre Plans To Utilise Indus Waters, Plans Public Outreach: Sources
New Delhi: In a strategic move, the central government will launch a public outreach program to explain to citizens the motive behind putting the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan in abeyance, sources said. The initiative aims to increase public awareness of how the suspension of the decades-old agreement benefits India. The outreach program will be spearheaded by union ministers who will explain the strategic moves on the Indus Water Treaty in simple terms to the people, especially those living in North Indian states. According to sources, the larger objective of the initiative is to develop a long-term water management strategy that will allow India to make better use of the Indus River waters within the states. The government is also planning to facilitate the movement of the Indus River waters from Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan. The 13 existing canal systems of the four states have been connected, which will not only increase the availability of water in the areas, but India will also be able to use the surplus water for itself, sources added. The strategic developments include building a 160-kilometre canal to connect the Chenab River to the Ravi, Beas, and Sutlej River systems. The Centre is also planning to connect the Indus River waters to the Ganga Canal in Rajasthan - and set a target for it to be completed in three years. The Indus River system The Indus basin is fed mainly by the Ravi, the Jhelum, and the Indus itself, all three of which were allotted to Pakistan under the Indus Waters Treaty but flow through India before crossing over. The agreement gives India rights over the eastern rivers - the Sutlej, Beas, and Chenab. While India would get water from the Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi, Pakistan would get the water from the Chenab, Jhelum, and Indus. India, being the upper riparian state, technically has rights to the waters of all six rivers, but the agreement allowed Pakistan to get the flow of waters of the 'western rivers'. The Indus Water Treaty - signed in 1960 - had survived through three wars fought by India and Pakistan in 1965, 1971, and 1999. But after the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 people were killed, India took stern diplomatic measures, including putting the treaty into abeyance. By doing this, India has been able to control, to some extent, the western rivers and flow of water to Pakistan. PM Modi on suspending Indus Waters Treaty Prime Minister Narendra Modi last month said that "water and blood cannot flow together". "Terror and talk cannot take place together. Terror and trade cannot take place together. And, water and blood also cannot flow together," he said - referring to a clear message to Pakistan that while India may have agreed to a ceasefire, it has no plans to lift the hold on the Indus Waters Treaty. India on May 7 conducted 'Operation Sindoor', a targeted military strike on terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir (PoK), after finding cross-border to the Pahalgam attack. Pakistan then launched a massive missile and drone attack, but the threats were thwarted. In retaliation, Indian armed forces struck airfields in Pakistan. Both countries agreed to a ceasefire on May 10.

Stop action against Dalits immediately: K'taka BJP to CM Siddaramaiah
The Karnataka BJP, on Monday, demanded that the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should immediately stop the ongoing government action against Dalits in Kadugodi area of Bengaluru. Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Karnataka Legislative Council, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, has alleged that CM Siddaramaiah-led state government under the Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre, is attempting to "strangle the livelihoods" of Dalits. Speaking during a protest held near the Gandhi statue at Vidhana Soudha, Narayanaswamy said that the Forest Department is trying to take over valuable agricultural land cultivated by Dalits in Dinnoor village in Kadugodi of Mahadevapura constituency in Bengaluru Urban district. He accused Minister Khandre of leading this operation and called it an act of economic strangulation targeting Dalits. He alleged that instead of carrying out its designated duties, the Forest department is now focused on seizing valuable land. Despite multiple attempts, they were unable to get an appointment with the Chief Minister, he said. Therefore, the Karnataka BJP have submitted a memorandum to the Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh and also handed over a petition to the Chief Minister's Secretary. LoP Narayanaswamy also said that there were 711 acres in Dinnoor, of which 278 acres were given to the Railways, around 3 acres to a temple, 13 acres for roads, 13 guntas for an Indira Canteen, 20 acres for housing in Dinnoor Colony, 2.5 acres for a crematorium, 32 acres for layout development, and 4.5 acres for a police station. Of the total, 125 acres were under cultivation, and 45 acres were handed over for the Metro project. He said that the government had granted the land to farmers as far back as 1950, and since then, they had been engaged in agriculture on that land. He demanded that the attacks on Dalits must be stopped and condemned the arrests and intimidation tactics being used by the police. BJP leader Narayanaswamy noted that there is a stay order in place against the eviction, yet attempts are still being made, which he termed condemnable. While acknowledging that the matter is sub-judice, he criticised the state government for claiming it was only following a "task" assigned to them, calling such statements ridiculous. He also said that the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) had acquired land from farmers in 1982 and had provided compensation accordingly. Former BJP MP, S. Muniswamy, who also spoke at the protest, accused the Congress-led state government of targeting Dalit farmers by evicting them from their lands. He said that violence, false cases and harassment were being inflicted upon the community, and this was unacceptable. He asked whether only Dalit farmers were subject to the law. "If all of that land belongs to the Forest Department, then why hasn't the government cleared the lands given to the Railways? Why hasn't the KIADB's land been taken back? Why are Metro, police station, and other allocations untouched?" he asked. Participating in the protest were Legislative Council Chief Whip N. Ravikumar, MLC Keshav Prasad, MLA Cement Manjunath, former MP S. Muniswamy, and former MLAs Y. Sampangi, Y. Ramakka, S. Balaraju, among other leaders. Earlier, a Karnataka BJP delegation led by Opposition leader Narayanaswamy met Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh at her office on Monday and submitted a memorandum regarding the eviction of residents from the Kadugodi area in Bengaluru. BJP leader Narayanaswamy said that it is shameful and unfortunate that farmers and local residents, who have been living and cultivating land for decades in the Kadugodi locality in Bengaluru Urban district, are being evicted. He added that evicting the poorest and most destitute people -- who survive by tilling the land -- without any prior notice and without implementing any rehabilitation measures is unacceptable. BJP leader Narayanaswamy urged that the matter should be carefully examined in accordance with the Supreme Court's directions and existing government provisions, and appropriate action should be taken. "I appeal that until the government announces a decision to protect these people, the eviction process should be halted," he said. "Survey Number 1 in Kadugodi comprises 711 acres of land, including 35 acres of agricultural land. This land is being cultivated by people belonging to the Scheduled Caste community. The farmers have been tilling the land since 1950 and possess government documents proving ownership," he added.

The day witnessed dramatic developments as both Israel and Iran carried out massive strikes against each other in the final hours before the intended start of a 7 a.m. ceasefire (Doha time), announced by Mr. Trump. The Israeli Defence Forces said it struck eight Iranian ballistic missile launchers in western Iran. Tehran fired at least 20 ballistic missiles in six barrages, which started at 5 a.m. local time. Four people were killed and at least 22 others injured in Iran's missile attacks. Here is a brief timeline on how the 12-day war panned out (2) Revisiting the Emergency One of the turning points of Indian politics, the Emergency was set in motion by the Indira Gandhi government on June 25, 1975, and remained in place for 21 months till its withdrawal on March 21, 1977. The order gave Indira Gandhi, India's first woman Prime Minister, the authority to rule by decree and saw the large-scale curbing of civil liberties. The then President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed announced a nationwide state of emergency, citing 'an imminent danger to the security of India being threatened by internal disturbances,' particularly after the war with Pakistan and the liberation of Bangladesh. (5) India breaks into top 100 countries achieving SDG goals India ranked within the top 100 countries making the most progress on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the first time as per the report released by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network released on Tuesday (June 24, 2025) last week. The report laid out 17 SDGs measuring progress in indicators like poverty reduction, hunger, health, education, climate action, employment, energy, sanitation and more. India's overall score for the SDG index stood at 66.95 out of a maximum score of 100. While the overall score has been improving since 2000, the report pointed out stagnating progress in 7 of the 17 indicators, moderate improvement in 7 others, on track trends in two and worsening progress in one indicator.
