Foreign woman abandons family during immigration raid in Ipoh
The family was among over 200 foreigners screened in the joint operation by the Perak Immigration Department and the General Operations Force.
Her husband and children, aged two and three, were detained, while she escaped.

Perak Immigration director Datuk James Lee said about 120 individuals were arrested for offences under the Immigration Act 1959/63 and related regulations.
"Our main focus was on those using fake or expired documents, or staying in the country illegally,' he said.
He urged employers to deal directly with the Immigration Department and avoid using middlemen.
Those detained will be sent to the Home Ministry Complex, while undocumented children will be placed in a special depot. - Bernama

Filipino man caught using fake pass to exit Sabah at KKIA
PUTRAJAYA: A 21-year-old Filipino man was caught attempting to leave Sabah using a social visit pass with fake endorsements at Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA). The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) detained him during a routine inspection. Authorities discovered the pass had falsified entry and exit stamps dated July 28 and July 30. 'No matching records were found in the Immigration Department's system, confirming the endorsements were forged,' AKPS stated. Filipino man nabbed at Kota Kinabalu Airport over fake travel pass
KOTA KINABALU: A 21-year-old Filipino man was arrested at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) for allegedly attempting to leave the country using a travel pass with forged endorsements. The man was stopped by the Malaysian Border Control Agency (MBCA) during a routine inspection yesterday. Authorities discovered that the man had a Social Visit Pass bearing an entry endorsement dated July 28 and an exit endorsement dated July 30. Checks with the Immigration Department revealed that neither stamp was recorded in the system, raising suspicions of forgery. Featured Videos "The suspect was detained for allegedly attempting to mislead authorities about the actual duration of his stay in Malaysia. "Further inspection also uncovered two boarding passes in the suspect's possession — one for a flight to Kuala Lumpur on July 30, and another to Manila, Philippines, the following day," MBCA said in a statement today. MBCA said it was investigating the purpose of holding both passes to identify the suspect's modus operandi.
