A warning has been issued after a child was left with "blood running down her face" in flurry of horrific attacks from the flying gulls with politicians calling for more to be done Feral seagulls are edging closer to killing a human, it's been claimed. n what is seen as the most alarming warning yet over the terrifying flying threats, a summit to deal with them is set to get off the ground. Former Scottish Tory leader Douglas Ross, who previously called a debate on the issue at Holyrood, told Parliament humans risk being killed over the "growing problem" of kamikaze-diving seagulls. The politician said: 'The strength of the cross-party support in my debate should be all the SNP government need to finally act before we see someone killed due to being attacked by a gull.' Adding fuel to the flames, Tory Rachael Hamilton claimed "aggressive" seagulls had attacked seven children in just one month in Eyemouth last year. She went on to highlight how one girl had gashes to her scalp and "blood running down her face" after a "divebombing attack," the Daily Star reports. The MP added: 'Aggressive seagull behaviour continues to cause a real concern amongst businesses, amongst tourists, amongst everybody that has anything to do along the harbour. 'And it is not just a seasonal nuisance. It is a serious, growing health risk. It's a safety risk, particularly for children and elderly residents.' The latest flap over gulls comes after the people of Moray in Scotland were dive-bombed by the birds. In one case, an elderly woman broke her leg during a gull swoop. But other ministers are urging Brits to hug a gull. MSP Jim Fairlie said a summit on tackling the scourge of demented seagulls should not 'demonise' the pests. His fellow Nationalist MSP Christine Grahame added: 'Language such as 'mugging' and 'menace' can be applied to us, or our counterparts, but it is not appropriate to demonise an animal simply looking for food. 'What we mustn't have is people versus gulls, or gulls versus people.' Highlands and Islands MSP Mr Ross said he has been 'inundated' with reports about the dangers of gulls from constituents. They included a couple in the village of Hopeman who were 'worried about going out of their home' due to the aggressiveness of the birds. Jeff Thornhill, a Moray pensioner, said he and his wife were 'dive-bombed' by gull on Monday morning while they were out for a stroll. Among the other victims of the birds is terrified Caroline Mackay, who has lived in the coastal town of Nairn for almost 50 years. She said: 'I know they are part of living beside the sea, and I accept that, but they are quite a danger.' Lucy Harding from Nairn Business Improvement District said they had received 85 reports of gull attacks in the last year alone.

Dead dog found burned in Dundee woods as police probe ash pile near cemetery
What was left of the dog's body was found in a pile of ashes along with its collar and lead. A dog has been found dead in woodland after being set alight. The remains of the tragic animal were found on Friday evening at around 5.30pm, in Dundee's Templeton Woods. The dog had been set on fire with part of its collar and lead found in the pile of ash at the scene, a lay-by parking area near a local cemetery. However it is unclear whether or not the animal was alive when it was torched. A post on the Missing Pets, Dundee and Angus Facebook page asked for any witnesses to come forward following the grim find. Police Scotland also confirmed officers will investigate the incident. The post read: "A deceased dog has been found about 17.30 tonight in Templeton woods (just off dronley road at the small layby parking bit across from the cemetery. "The poor dog has also been set alight (photos obtained) and we have to pray that he was deceased before this happened. "Part of his collar and lead also remained as the man spotted walking out into his car we assume after he was disturbed. "Our finder smelled petrol on his arrival so witnessed this man who was carrying a petrol can and his car, this info will be offered up to vets/sspca/ police. Germany's Under-21 side have had no issues on the pitch during this summer's issues but were faced with an unexpected confrontation after cruising into the final Germany's Under-21 team are due to take on England in Saturday's European Championships final, but their preparations have been disturbed by accusations of stealing beer glasses. The players were confronted by a "distraught" woman over the alleged theft, it has been claimed. The allegations relate to events after the team's semi-final against France in Kosice. Antonio Di Salvo's squad have denied theft, claiming instead that the glasses must have been removed without their knowledge. According to Bild (via The Sun), the woman - understood to be a VIP host at the Kosicka Futbalova Arena - was in tears as she stormed Germany's team coach. She is reported to have ignored the attention of stewards and an armed security guard in order to approach the vehicle and attempt to take photos, 'It was all completely different. The woman had brought several beer mugs into the catacombs, presumably for the referees. Then later, empty mugs were there, which were suddenly gone," said the Germany Under-21 press officer, who happens to be named Markus Beer. 'Someone must have thrown them away. She obviously thought our players had simply taken them. But that was definitely not the case.' Germany go into this year's final after winning every single one of their matches so far. They beat England 2-1 in the group stages, before needing extra-time to see off Italy in the quarter-finals. They found things much easier in the semis, going 2-0 up against France inside the opening 15 minutes as Nelson Wieper and Nick Woltemade found the net.
