Adani's clean energy push: India's first off-grid green hydrogen pilot plant goes on stream — all you need to know
An off‑grid green hydrogen pilot plant produces green hydrogen, which is made by splitting water using electricity from renewable sources. The facility works without relying on the public electricity grid, especially in remote areas where traditional grid power is not available or less reliable.
The plant is fully powered by solar energy and works with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), which enables it to operate completely off-grid. 'This represents a new paradigm in decentralised, renewable-powered hydrogen production,' said a company press release.
The ANIL pilot plant is a 5 MW green hydrogen facility featuring a fully automated and controlled electrolyser system which is designed to respond to real-time renewable energy inputs.
This provision, also known as a closed-loop system, aids in flexibility of operations, particularly in addressing the shifting nature of solar power, while ensuring efficiency, safety and performance, according to the company.
The project aims to support India's ambition to become a global hub for green hydrogen production and set a benchmark for renewable-powered industrial applications across sectors where reducing carbon emissions is particularly difficult. The sectors in focus highly depend on fossil fuels for their operations.
Green hydrogen is expected to play a role in decarbonising sectors such as fertilisers, refining and heavy transport and in achieving global net-zero targets.
The pilot plant also serves as the beginning of ANIL's upcoming Green Hydrogen Hub in Mundra, Gujarat, a project that promises to contribute to India's low-carbon future.

Unnati Fortune, ex-director face ED chargesheet
Lucknow: The directorate of enforcement (ED), Lucknow, filed a prosecution complaint (equivalent to chargesheet) under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) 2002, against M/s Unnati Fortune Holdings Ltd and its former director and major shareholder Anil Mithas. An anti-corruption court has taken cognizance of the complaint, finding sufficient material on record to proceed against the accused. Anil is currently in judicial custody. The next hearing is scheduled for Sep 1. The complaint, submitted by ED details a complex web of alleged financial irregularities. The ED's investigation stems from four FIRs registered by the UP police and the Economic Offence Wing (EOW), Delhi against Anil and Unnati Fortune Holdings Ltd. Based on these FIRs, the ED registered an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) on Dec 23, 2024, to initiate an investigation under PMLA. Investigation revealed that Unnati Fortune Holdings Ltd and Anil were allegedly involved in the money laundering. The probe uncovered Proceeds of Crime (POC) worth Rs 126.30 crores. The ED's submissions to the court highlighted that Anil as the former director and Unnati Fortune Holdings Ltd are directly implicated in the generation, possession and use of these proceeds of crime. Statcon Energiaa and Su-vastika collaborate to develop digital energy storage technologies
New Delhi, August 20, 2025: As India scales up renewable energy adoption, the demand for intelligent Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) is becoming critical to balance supply, ensure grid stability, and support digital energy infrastructure. In this context, Statcon Energiaa and Su-vastika Systems have entered into a collaboration to design and manufacture Made-in-India storage technologies with embedded digital and IoT projections estimate India's BESS market will expand from USD 7.8 billion in 2024 to more than USD 32 billion by 2030. While lithium-ion systems are expected to dominate due to efficiency and lifecycle advantages, the next phase of growth will be driven by digitally enabled features such as predictive maintenance, remote diagnostics, and data-driven load management. Prostarm Info declared as L-1 bidder for BESS project in Karnataka
Prostarm Info Systems announced it has been declared the L-1 (lowest) bidder by Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) for a battery energy storage system (BESS) project. Under the agreement, the company will set up a 150MW/300 MWh standalone BESS at the 400kV Doni Substation in Gadag District, Karnataka. The project will be executed on a build, own, operate (BOO) basis with a VGF (State Component) under a tariff-based global competitive bidding process. For this 12-year contract, the company will receive a monthly rental of Rs 2.54 lakh per MW, which amounts to a yearly rental of Rs 45.72 crore for the 150MW/300 MWh system. Additionally, the company will receive VGF funding of Rs 27 lakh per MWh or 30% of the BESS capital cost, whichever is lower. Prostram Info Systems is a power solutions provider specializing in UPS systems, inverters, lithium-ion battery packs, and solar EPC projects. The company designs, manufactures, and assembles products in-house and via partners in India and China.
