Boston Celtics superfans not giving up, hoping for a Game 7 at the Garden
Don't count them out! The Boston Celtics are back after staving off elimination against the New York Knicks in Game 5 of this playoff series.
Bell Biv DeVoe's Michael Bivins was impressed by the team's performance given that they're down Jayson Tatum.
"We've got Boston resilience"
"A lot of players who normally don't play during the game at that time really contributed. We really saw what the Celtics were made of yesterday. I was rooting for them," Bivins said. "I think what breeds champions is when you feel like your back is against the wall."
He's no stranger to courtside at the TD Garden – hyping up the crowd for his hometown team.
"Listen, we're down, but we're not out," Bivins said. "We've got Boston resilience. We're all about the green. Make it do what it do!"
From the parquet floor to Section 315 high up in the balcony, you'll find Timmy Gorham. He's been a season ticketholder for nearly 20 years.
"I was there for the 2008 championship and the 2024 championship and I also had to watch Kris Humphries play basketball too," he joked.
Not losing hope in the Celtics
Gorham said Game 5 was a tough one to watch.
"To start the game, everyone was nervous. You felt like everyone was still sad about the Tatum injury," Gorham explained.
But seeing the Celtics momentum was electric, even from up in the nosebleeds.
"The Knicks fans were very loud but then as the game went on and the Celtics built their lead, it was like everything was back to normal," Gorham told WBZ-TV. "It was our building, our series to win so that was pretty cool."
Not cracking under pressure.
Bivins said this is what Boston sports is all about.
"One man down but the whole squad is here to stand up. And we represent the city," Bivins told WBZ-TV. "We represent the championship spirit."

But I'm looking at an OG Anunoby and I'm looking at a Mikal Bridges. . .they're supposed to be stoppers,' Perkins continued. 'I don't feel like Thibs should have lost his job.' Malone certainly does seem to be the logical candidate as head coach if the Knicks are serious about contending for a championship. He helped mold the Denver Nuggets into a title contender, guiding them to the 2023 NBA title. He led the Nuggets to seven playoff appearances in ten seasons before the team let him go this year. Advertisement Malone's Nuggets teams never lost in the opening round of the NBA Playoffs, with an appearance in at least the Western Conference Semifinals each year they made the postseason. Perkins brings up a valid point in that the Knicks appear to have some of the defensive personnel that would work with Malone as head coach. In any case, it's sure shaping up to be a busy offseason for the Knicks with the rumor mill churning.

Rasmussen extends scoreless streak to 23 innings as Rays beat Rangers 5-1
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Drew Rasmussen extended his MLB-leading scoreless streak to 23 innings with five innings of one-hit ball and the Tampa Bay Rays beat the Texas Rangers 5-1 on Tuesday night. Rasmussen (5-4) allowed only a single to Jake Burger in the third inning and struck out eight in a game that was delayed for less that 20 minutes due to rain in the third in front of an announced crowd of 9,131 at George M. Steinbrenner Field. Kameron Misner put Tampa Bay on the board with a solo homer in the second inning. In the sixth inning, Yandy Diaz scored on a wild pitch by the Rangers' Jacob Latz. Jonathan Aranda scored on an infield single by Jake Mangum before Junior Caminero stole home when Misner struck out looking. Caminero homered in the eighth, his fifth long ball in the last six games, to complete the scoring for Tampa Bay. Burger had two of Texas' four hits, including an RBI single in the seventh inning. Tyler Mahle (5-3) allowed five hits, four earned runs and three walks in 5 1/3 innings, striking out five. Key moment With runners on the corners and one out in the sixth, Caminero raced home on a steal. The Rays' third baseman instinctively took off for home when Rangers catcher Kyle Higashioka released a throw to catch Jake Mangum stealing second. Because Caminero took off before Higashioka's throw passed shortstop Corey Seager, he was credited with the rare steal of home. Key stat Rasmussen has not allowed a run over his last four starts, dating to May 17. In that span, Rasmussen has struck out 21, walked three and allowed 10 hits. It was the 14th straight game in which a Rays starter allowed three runs or fewer. Up next Texas RHP Kumar Rocker (1-3, 8.10 ERA) is expected to come off the injured list and make his ninth MLB start. Smith and Taylor help the White Sox cool off the Tigers with an 8-1 victory
CHICAGO — Shane Smith pitched three-hit ball into the sixth inning, and the Chicago White Sox beat the Detroit Tigers 8-1 on Tuesday night to stop a four-game slide. Michael A. Taylor homered and drove in four runs for Chicago, which had dropped seven of eight overall. Smith (2-3) struck out six in 5 1/3 scoreless innings for his first win since April 24. It was the first home win for the White Sox against the Tigers since June 4, 2023. They had lost a franchise-record 11 straight home games versus Detroit. Dillon Dingler hit an RBI double in the seventh to account for the Tigers' only run. The AL Central leaders had won seven of eight, including a 13-1 victory in the series opener. Taylor started in center field in place of Luis Robert Jr. , who is making some adjustments at the plate and got the day off.
