Suspected gang members terrorize Colorado apartment complex in shocking doorbell video

Chilling doorbell footage captures suspected gang members terrorizing an apartment complex in Colorado. Video from the Aurora Police Department shows a group of roughly nine individuals lurking outside of an apartment on June 9. Several of the suspects can be seen knocking at the door and aiming their guns. The residents did not open the door and the suspects eventually leave the premises. In a press conference Tuesday (17 June), Aurora Police Chief Todd Chamberlain said the residents who lived in the targeted apartment had just moved in from Venezuela two days prior to the incident. According to Chamberlain, the apartment complex has been the site of repeated criminal activity, with numerous reports of shots fired. Four suspects have been arrested. Police believe the incident is linked to Venezuelan gang activity that is rampant in the Aurora area. However, while Chamberlain noted similarities to the Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang, he reportedly did not confirm that the group is connected.

Greedy lawyer couple 'did unthinkable on realizing elderly married clients were rich and had no heirs'

A powerful attorney couple have been arrested for the alleged murder of the two elderly clients they represented for over a decade as part of an evil plot to steal their family fortune. Fernanda Barroso, 44, and her husband Hercules, 47, were taken into custody Tuesday after their condominium was raided in the southeastern Brazilian city of Sao Pedro. Their capture coincided with the arrests of Carlos de Oliveira, 57, and Ednaldo Veira, 54, whom were hired by the lawyers to kill Jose Pavan, 69, and his wife, Rosana Ferrari, 61, in April. The Sao Paulo Civil Police allege that the lawyers had the couple killed to steal their properties. 'We imagine that they planned the crime to permanently take possession of the victims' assets, because they [the victims] had no descendants,' police chief Juliana Ricci told Brazilian news outlet G1. 'They were a childless couple. Their parents are also deceased and their assets are in the name of their lawyers. If they were dead, who would question that?' Pavan and Ferrari purchased 16 apartments in the Sao Paulo municipality of Sao Carlos in 2013 and then sold a couple of units that were still being built. They ran into legal problems with some of the buyers and took them to court, demanding a a refund as well as extra compensation. Pavan, a businessman, and Ferrari, a children's school owner, contracted the services of the Barrosos and set up a holding company that was registered under the lawyers. The lawyers collected 2.8 million Brazilian reals [around $508,000 USD] in fake legal fees before they ended up appropriating 12 million reals [$2.3 million USD] worth of property that Pavan and Ferrari owned, Civil Police investigators found. The attorneys also tricked Pavan and Ferrari into believing that they were part of a lawsuit and created payment receipts so that they could deposit money. G1 learned that Pavan and Ferrari listed Fernanda in August 2022 as a partner in a real estate company they owned. Fernanda's percentage in the business was worth a little over 120,000 reals [close to $22,000]. Authorities said the Barrosos began to plot their longtime clients' murder by hiring de Oliveira, who once ran for his local city council, and Veira. A bar owner alerted police on April 6 after the noticed the body of one of the victims inside a pickup truck that was parked in front of the family farm in Serra de Sao Pedro. Cops initially searched the home and did not find the couple, but noticed that the keys to the vehicle were in the console. They launched a second inspection and found Pavan dead with a gunshot wound and his hands tied in the backseat of the pickup truck. Ferrari was also shot and her body was found with her hands tied in the vehicle's flatbed. Ferrari's brother told EPTV that Ferrari attended the couple's funeral services but did not have a chance to talk with her. 'I cried, I felt angry, in agony. I hope for justice,' he said. 'It wasn't a crime caused by anger, fighting, or anything like that. It was a premeditated crime that they had planned a long time ago.' Fernanda and Hercules are being represented by lawyer Reginaldo Silveira, who stressed that they are both innocent and wrongly accused. 'There was a relationship between the parties, where the fees were paid through real estate, not in cash,' Silveira said, as quoted by UOL Noticias. 'We will be able to prove the couple's innocence, we will prove that the only relationship that existed was that of lawyer-client, nothing more than that.'
