Mercedes-Benz has introduced a new chapter in its bespoke luxury offerings with the launch of the Mercedes-AMG G 63 'Collector's Edition' in India. Tailored specifically for Indian buyers, this limited-run model,restricted to just 30 units nationwide, aims to combine performance engineering with locally-influenced personalisation. The edition was jointly developed with Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI), signalling a growing push toward India-specific high-end products.
Here's a closer look at five notable aspects that define the uniqueness of this special edition G-Class:

The G 63 Collector's Edition benefits from Mercedes' latest MBUX NTG7 infotainment architecture, bringing with it more responsive displays, clearer graphics, and new features. The dual 12.3-inch displays offer touchscreen access to the system, which now supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Features like Augmented Reality for Navigation add functional value, especially in dense urban traffic, where understanding complex junctions can be challenging. The interface also allows access to vehicle settings, off-road data, and drive mode configurations.

The carmaker will bring its new flagship off-roader with an internal combustion engine, while hybrid/electric powertrains cannot be ruled out. The model is expected to arrive with BMW's Neue Klasse design language, combined with traditional body lines. Kundrra appears to have brought home the G 400d variant of the iconic off-roader, which retails for ₹2.55 crore (ex-showroom). Karan Kundrra's New G-Class Karan Kundrra's new Mercedes-Benz G-Class appears to be finished in Obsidian Black Metallic, bringing a stealthy look to the SUV. The G 400d is the diesel-powered version and is sold alongside the AMG and electric versions of the G-Class in India. BNP in Talks to Buy Mercedes' Athlon

BNP Paribas SA is in advanced talks to acquire Mercedes-Benz Group's leasing unit Athlon , according to people familiar with the matter. The deal could value the business at about INR 1 billion ($1.2 billion), one of the people said, asking not to be identified . Deliberations are still ongoing and there's no certainty they will lead to a transaction, the people said. Other parties have also expressed interest and another buyer could still emerge. Representatives for BNP and Mercedes declined to comment.
