Kuwait Cracks Down On Fake Exam Content: 17 Social Media Accounts Referred To Authorities
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Education has referred 17 social media accounts and groups on platforms including X, Telegram and WhatsApp to the relevant security authorities for circulating false information and fake exam questions linked to Grade 12 final exams.
These accounts have been reported to the Cybercrime Combating Department for their role in spreading misinformation and attempting to undermine the integrity of the examination process.
In an official statement, the ministry reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a fair, transparent, and secure environment as grade 12 final exams for the 2024-2025 academic year are set to commence tomorrow (Wednesday).
It underscored the importance of discipline and compliance with examination regulations to preserve the credibility and integrity of the educational system.
The ministry stressed that exam rules will be strictly enforced, and violations will be met with firm accountability measures to safeguard the rights of diligent students.
It is working in close coordination with security agencies to monitor online platforms throughout the exam period. Immediate action will be taken against any attempts to spread rumours, cause disruption, or leak unauthorised content.
High school students have been urged to adhere to the guidelines issued by examination committees, follow supervisors' instructions, and refrain from bringing mobile phones or smart devices into exam halls.
The ministry also advised students and parents to rely solely on official sources for information, warning against the dangers of unverified or misleading online content.

Israel strikes Yemen's Huthi-held Hodeida port
Yemen's rebel-controlled media reported Israeli strikes on the port of Hodeida yesterday, with the Israeli army saying its navy had hit the area following calls on civilians to evacuate three Huthi-held ports. 'Israeli Navy Missile Ships struck terror targets belonging to the Huthi terrorist regime in the port of ' Hodeida, the Israeli army said in a statement. 'The strikes were carried out to stop the use of the port for military purposes,' it said, adding that the port was being 'used to transfer weapons'. Al-Masirah TV channel said 'two strikes by the Israeli enemy targeted the docks of the port of Hodeida'. In a post on X, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said 'we warned the Huthi terror organisation that if they continued firing toward Israel, they would face a powerful response and be subjected to a naval and aerial blockade.' Earlier, Colonel Avichay Adraee, an Israeli army spokesman said that 'because of the use of maritime ports by the Huthi terrorist regime, we call on all people present' in the ports of Ras Issa, Hodeida and Salif 'to evacuate them immediately for their own security' in an Arabic post on X and Telegram. Yemen's Huthis have repeatedly launched missiles and drones at Israel since the Gaza war broke out in October 2023 with Palestinian militant group Hamas's attack on Israel.

The convictions followed an intensive investigation led by Kuwait's Public Prosecution, in coordination with the Ministries of Interior and Education, after a series of exam leaks were discovered circulating on social platforms such as WhatsApp, sometimes sold for varying prices. Authorities found that the operation was not isolated. Investigators uncovered a network involving intermediaries, including minors, who acted as conduits for distributing the leaked exams.
