Tournament host Tiger Woods arrives at Genesis Invitational Sunday with Kai Trump in tow
Tiger Woods has made it to Torrey.
Woods is the tournament host of the Genesis Invitational, this year played at Torrey Pines in San Diego. He had committed to play the day of the entry deadline, but that was three days after his mom Kultida passed away and he subsequently withdrew, saying in a statement, "I'm just not ready."
During Sunday's final round, Woods arrived at the South Course and was seen on PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ watching guys warm up on the range. That included Justin Thomas, who came over to give his buddy a big hug.

Woods is even wearing his Sunday Red underneath a black sweater. Many of the competitors are also wearing red, even if just a hint of it, in the form of red pins. Woods had the same pin on his collar.

Before heading to the range, Woods was seen in the parking lot just after arriving. Tagging along with Woods was Kai Trump, Donald Trump's granddaughter. Woods recently played a round of golf with the president. They played in the morning before the Super Bowl. Kai recently committed to play college golf at Miami.

Confirmed: Vikings Chose JJ McCarthy Over Aaron Rodgers
All eyes have been on JJ McCarthy, during the 2025 Minnesota Vikings offseason, which is now shifting to minicamp, scheduled to start on Tuesday. Today, however the Vikings are holding their annual media day, of which their redshirt rookie starting quarterback is front and center. Many of us have a lot of belief in JJ McCarthy, just given what head coach Kevin O'Connell, GM Kwesi adofo-Mensah have said publicly, along with what media insiders and the MN Vikings social media team have fed us through legacy and social medias. Now that the Vikings have chosen McCarthy as their QB1, anything coming out of Eagan has to be taken with a large grain of salt. Everyone inside of Minnesota Vikings facilities, from ownership to executives to coaches and all the way down to the players have a lot invested into the success of JJ McCarthy. How do we know the Minnesota Vikings love JJ McCarthy… The most telling insight into the Minnesota Vikings' heat check on JJ McCarthy's NFL readiness came back in March, when Daniel Jones turned down their $15 million offer because he knew the likelihood of winning the job over McCarthy wasn't good. Advertisement It was around that same time, however, that we really found out how Kevin O'Connell and the Vikings felt about McCarthy, when Aaron Rodgers called them up and all but threw himself at the organization for one shot at a Super Bowl run with his old pal from Cal, KOC. Credit: Shaun Brooks-Imagn Images After a week or two of internal debate over the pros and cons of bringing the 4x MVP in, the MN Vikings gave Rodgers the 'don't wait up for us' treatment. But he waited up anyway… for months. Related: MN Vikings QB JJ McCarthy Reminds TJ Hockenson of Who…? Meanwhile, KOC's confidence in McCarthy seems to have grown now that OTAs have mostly come and gone. Thus, it was no coincidence Rodgers gave up on his waiting game and signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, just days before teams started to meet this week for minicamp. Confirmed: Vikings picked McCarthy over Aaron Rodgers Then on Monday, Mike Jones (The Athletic) confirmed what we pretty much already knew in an article that put in tinto plain words. The Minnesota Vikings did indeed spurn Aaron Rodgers' advances, a decision that was probably etched into stone over the last couple weeks, leading to A-Rodg signing in Pittsburgh. The Minnesota Vikings have pledged loyalty to McCarthy, their 2024 first-round pick, who missed his entire rookie season while rehabbing from a torn meniscus suffered during the preseason. Rodgers wanted to continue his career with the Vikings, but after extensive deliberations, Minnesota opted to proceed with McCarthy as its quarterback. The Michigan product has spent these offseason practices working his way back into a flow and, thus far, has impressed teammates with his leadership skills. McCarthy hasn't been perfect, but coach Kevin O'Connell dismissed any McCarthy hiccups, calling this the learning stage. If McCarthy emerges from the offseason unscathed, he should remain the starter for Week 1. Mike Jones – The Athletic Advertisement I know Rodgers isn't what he used to be, but the Minnesota Vikings choosing what seems like 'the unknown' over an O'Connell-aided Aaron Rodgers revenge tour is pretty significant, given how easy the Vikings could have made Rodgers' life. And not just because of KOC and his genius or longtime friendship with Rodgers, but also how much the Vikings did to beef up everything around the QB position this offseason, especially on the interior offensive line. Doubt JJ McCarthy at your own risk… Media and fans can apply pressure, but as long as JJ McCarthy is making a positive impression on coaches and teammates while they are all gathered together, none of the outside noise will matter. Advertisement And if you believe what the Minnesota Vikings propaganda machine has been dishing out for the past few months (I do), then optimism over their QB position is at an all-time high in Eagan. For as much faith as some of us have in our 22-year-old University of Michigan superstar, football is a game of results. And so far, when it comes to the National Football League, JJ has zero evidence to show he belongs. That's why, until we see McCarthy take the regular season field and perform in games that matter, we'll only be able to guess at what his play will look like, even if some of those guesses are well-educated. Advertisement Still, some forms of information aren't more revealing than others… and that is where their handling of Rodgers and other QB options this offseason is worth noting. I mean, the Minnesota Vikings have left their QB room virtually void of legitimate starting quarterbacks, outside of McCarthy. Justin Jefferson telling us how MN Vikings feel about McCarthy too Another big hint is the way Justin Jefferson has made it a mission to build up his relationship with the 2024 No. 10 overall draft pick. The two have lockers right next to each other, have been spotted at local sporting events, among other things. Jefferson's dedication to the bit tells us everything we need to know about what the Vikings have been communicating to their superstar wideout. That McCarthy is the present and future of this team. Not only that, but JJ will make or break whether or not JJ goes to the Hall of Fame… and that conversation goes both ways. Advertisement Related: Justin Jefferson Reveals Why He Attended Minnesota Vikings OTAs Not only do the Vikings not want to sew doubt in the hearts and minds of fans, but you know that O'Connell and his group of QB guru coaches in training have full belief in themselves to fix any sort of shortcomings JJ McCarthy currently has by the time training camp rolls around. Now that we know without a doubt that the Minnesota Vikings chose JJ McCarthy over Aaron Rodgers, it adds even more pressure on the young man's plate to perform well immediately. But it also gives us our biggest indicator into just how good Kevin O'Connell and the rest inside that organization feel about him doing just that. Related Headlines

Should the Minnesota Vikings Sign THAT Newly Released Controversial CB
The Minnesota Vikings have been cooking with gas this offseason. Coach of the Year Kevin O'Connell and general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah both signed contract extensions. In between, the Vikings doled out more in new contract money than any other team in the league. There is no more important position in all of sports than NFL quarterback. And for the second-straight season offseason, the MN Vikings swapped out one starting QB for another. Are the Minnesota Vikings set at cornerback for 2025? If the team is going to contend for more than regular season relevancy in 2025, they'll have to do it with a well-constructed and balanced roster. And right now, the secondary leaves plenty to be desired. Byron Murphy Jr is back, but CB2 Stephon Gilmore and CB3 Shaq Griffin are both free agents. Advertisement Replacing them, for now, are guys with very little starting experience in the league like Isaiah Rodgers (13 starts in four seasons), Mekhi Blackmon (3 starts in one season) and former top 3 pick turned draft bust, Jeff Okudah. Credit: Tork Mason / USA TODAY NETWORK Of any position on the Minnesota Vikings depth chart, cornerback invites the most questions. And let's not forget that the Vikings' CB situation in June 2025 is very similar to what it was in June 2024, when it was Byron Murphy, the aformentioned Shaq Griffen… and a room of nobodies. Then on August 18, after the Vikings had already gathered for training camp, Kwesi inked Stephon Gilmore to a one-year deal. So… with minicamp starting on Tuesday and nearly two months until training camp starts, could Minnesota be planning the same type of high-end veteran cornerback signing between now and the start of the 2025 season? Advertisement Well, if they are, a new target was just made available on Monday, when longtime Green Bay Packer, Jaire Alexander, was released by our division rival to east. Could the 28-year-old Alexander be this year's version of Gilmore… except younger and more valuable? Kay Adams urges MN Vikings to sign Jaire Alexander Well, popular NFL voice Kay Adams thinks it's a no-brainer. After Jaire was just released today, the former Good Morning Football host urged on her independent show 'Up and Adams' for the Minnesota Vikings to go get Alexander under contract. 'My vote for landing spot for one Jaire Alexander would be the Vikings. Of course. We can do the funniest thing ever here. Join forces with he-who-you-like-drawing-against. He who you have, I don't know if this is bad blood or just two competitors who played the best at their position and enjoying each others company between the hash marks here. Go to the Vikings. So much has gone on between him and Minnesota over the years. They need a corner. I talked to Kevin O'Connell about that being the only thing maybe I don't love right now as far as keeping them from winning a Super Bowl. He gets a chance to play the Packers then twice a year. This would be perfect. Iron sharpening iron in practice against the Addison's and Justin Jefferson's. I would love Jaire to stay in that division.' Kay Adams – Up and Adams Kay Adams loves herself some Minnesota Vikings and there are few denying that the Minnesota Vikings — who have also been mentioned in rumors surrounding top CB Jalen Ramsey — could use more help on the outside. While acquiring Ramsey would require a trade, landing Alexander no longer would. Advertisement Related: Confirmed: Vikings Chose JJ McCarthy Over Aaron Rodgers It might be weird to think that the two-time Pro Bowl Packers cornerback could don purple, but both Za'Darius Smith and Aaron Jones have made the leap in recent seasons. Obviously, Packer legends like Brett Favre and Greg Jennings made the leap across the border, before them. Cornerback is still a need for the Vikings Alexander has played in 78 games (76 starts) for Green Bay and has 12 interceptions. He's coming off two injury plagued seasons in which he played just seven games apiece. He's also had a long-running beef with Justin Jefferson. Nonetheless, the seven-year NFL vet would bring desperately needed experience to an extremely unproven Minnesota Vikings secondary. Whether it's Alexander, Jalen Ramsey, or someone else, the Minnesota Vikings must do something at cornerback. They have invested a substantial amount across the roster this offseason, and they can't afford to stop short of positioning themselves for success. Advertisement We know what Murphy Jr. is capable of and the Vikings have shown incredibly strong belief in Rodgers, since bring him in. Still, a 2025 NFL defense needs three good cornerback options at the least. As of June 9, Brian Flores' defense does not have that. Related Headlines

Colin Cowherd Takes His JJ McCarthy Hatred to 'Modest Arm' Levels
There are a lot of people who believe in JJ McCarthy. That he, under the tutelage of Kevin O'Connell, will develop into a franchise QB to the likes of which we have not seen in this town since Sir Francis Tarkenton was running the Minnesota Vikings to multiple Super Bowl appearances back in the 70s. Others, like FOX Sports TV/Radio host, Colin Cowherd, who has made it clear that he is not a fan of the 2024 No. 10 overall draft pick many times over, since the Vikings selected him last offseason. Well, with NFL minicamps underway across the league, 'The Herd' found itself back on the topic of JJ McCarthy again on Wednesday. Colin Cowherd still out on Minnesota Vikings QB JJ McCarthy Even with all of the positive hype coming out of Eagan this spring, surrounding McCarthy, Cowherd is still all the way out on the Minnesota Vikings redshirt rookie QB1. During today's show, Colin reiterated his JJ negativity, not necessarily due to any specific weaknesses, but instead, due to a lack of any 'wow-factor' elite traits. Advertisement The longtime sports talk show host even went as far as to call McCarthy's arm strength, 'modest', which is pretty much the biggest dig you can take at a starting NFL QB, right up there with 'game manager'. 'There's so much mystery [surrounding JJ McCarthy]. Why does Minnesota keep flirting with other quarterbacks and there are too many conflicting reports with McCarthy. There's a lot of stuff I don't know. I feel sometimes there's a little bit of a spin job here.' 'To be a great franchise quarterback…there's got to be a trait. There has to be a wow trait [proceeds to go through elite traits of top QBs — Mahomes' arm talent, Lamar's athletic ability, Burrow's composure, Herbert's power arm, etc]… you start stacking up these quarterbacks, there's a trait, like Elway – arm, Marino – arm, Aaron Rodgers – arm and release.' 'He doesn't have a big arm. His arm is considered modest. It's a middle of the pack arm, middle of the pack escapability. In fact, they question his release. His release, at times, can be a little bit plodding.' Colin Cowherd – The Herd w/Colin Cowherd As previously mentioned, this is not the first time Colin Cowherd has gone after JJ McCarthy. In this video alone, he pretty much admits that he is a fan of just about every young NFL QB in the league, outside of the one in Minnesota. Related: Christian Darrisaw Looks Further Along Than Expected… He mentioned what he likes about everyone from Jalen Hurts to Aaron Rodgers to Justin Herbert and even Kyler Murray, all of which have exclusive talents that allow them to maintain high-level QB play in the league. Talents that he does not believe exist in JJ McCarthy's arsenal. This time last month, he compared him to 2025 draft pick Jaxson Dart. Cowherd doesn't care that McCarthy is a winner If you think 'winning' is a translatable trait from college to the NFL, Cowherd will laugh at you. He claims that every player to ever be coached by collegiate greats like Jim Harbaugh and Nick Saban are all winners, by default. Of course, that is not true. But then again, what part of Colin's rant is true? 'Everybody under Jim Harbaugh, Steve Spurrier and Nick Saban is a winner. i don't wanna hear that. If you go back and look, his arm is modest, his escapability is modest, his release wasn't super-quick. There is not great trait. That is why I was always a Darnold fan. Darnold is tough, with a big arm. He can be reckless, but there are times you watch Darnold, his ability to make throws while moving is special. I don't get McCarthy's 'wow' trait. Now, I like Jordan Love, but I think Jordan Love has an incredible arm. He's got a whip and he's also super-athletic. I don't see the 'wow'. There's gotta be one thing.' Colin Cowherd – The Herd w/Colin Cowherd Advertisement Obviously, Colin's biggest problem might be that he is trusting the wrong college scouts. Because not all of them see JJ McCarthy as a bland piece of white bread, like the 'draft experts' he apparently believes in. For example, any draft analyst who's reported McCarthy's arm as being 'modest' or anything less than 'extremely capable' should have their opinion dropped directly into the trash bin. No recycling necessary. JJ has plenty of arm talent/power. Related: Minnesota Vikings Officially Promote Two Top Executives Entering the league, the bigger questions surrounded his ability to take heat off and layer the ball in-between defenders, something that the 22-year-old has been working on extensively, since arriving in Eagan, and something he continues to show improvement on. In the end, the only person who can shut Colin Cowherd and other JJ McCarthy doubters up for good is JJ McCarthy. It feels like a long ways away, but as long as he can stay healthy, our new QB1 will have at least 17 regular season games to prove he was worth a top 10 overall draft pick.
