‘The noise is so damn disrespectful': Joe Biden's daughter slams claims about former US president's mental health

Economic Times3 days ago

Ashley Biden, daughter of former U.S. President Joe Biden, has strongly pushed back against recent speculation about her father's mental and physical health, calling the claims 'disrespectful' and 'untrue.' In an emotional Instagram post featuring a photo with her parents, Jill and Joe Biden, on the beach, Ashley defended the president's fitness and work ethic. 'He aged, YES — as we all do! And the stress of the presidency accelerates that,' she wrote. 'But he was always MORE than capable of doing the job. And a damn good one. He worked harder than anyone I have ever known.' She slammed what she called "fake news" and baseless attacks. 'The noise is so DAMN disrespectful and untrue... It's just that – noise/static – created by those committed to perpetuating and profiting from some real BS,' Ashley added. 'Get lost with your fake news and anonymous sources.'
Ashley's comments come as her niece, Naomi Biden, also lashed out at a recently released book critical of the president. Naomi, daughter of Hunter Biden, described the book on X as 'political fairy smut for the permanent, professional chattering class,' accusing its authors of peddling 'unoriginal, uninspired lies' for profit. 'This book is a bunch of lies written by irresponsible, self-promoting journalists out to make a quick buck,' Naomi wrote.
Ashley echoed the frustration, noting that while she could be angry about the attacks, she chose to remain thankful: 'I'm too grateful to be angry about all the bulls---,' she said. She also expressed appreciation for the public support her family received after President Biden's prostate cancer diagnosis became public in May. 'This family's only coverup is a beach coverup,' Ashley quipped.
The Bidens' sharp defense reflects growing tensions as scrutiny around the president's age and health continues to shape political discourse heading into the 2024 election.

Vir Das ROASTS Donald Trump-Elon Musk Feud: ‘Like Shoving A D**k Into Another...'

Last Updated: Vir Das hilariously slams the Trump-Elon Musk feud with a savage Instagram post. Compares their ego clash to 'shoving a d**k into another d**k.' Read more! In a world where satire often mirrors reality a little too closely, comedian and actor Vir Das has once again brought his scalpel-sharp wit to the table—this time dissecting the bizarre, headline-hogging fallout between tech titan Elon Musk and former U.S. President Donald Trump. On Friday, Vir posted a tongue-in-cheek 'breakup announcement" on Instagram, parodying the tone of a PR statement about an amicable celebrity split. 'Love is complicated," his post began. 'When a relationship grows despite both people's best intentions, the universe sends them on separate paths. They deserve the privacy to separate in peace and with best wishes of the world." 'Actually wait… they're fighting like two schoolgirls. Yep. Cults of personality require sycophancy and submission. Insecure strongmen require conmen basking in their shadow. Combining the two is metaphorically and literally like trying to shove a d**k inside another d**k. It's technically possible, but probably painful." Das concluded his post with a classic mic-drop caption: 'Requesting privacy at this time." View this post on Instagram A post shared by Vir Das (@virdas) The comment—bold, layered, and laced with political undertones—comes at a time when the Trump-Musk feud has evolved into a full-blown soap opera. Once mutual supporters, the bromance between the billionaire entrepreneur and the former POTUS has imploded in public view, with both camps exchanging increasingly personal jabs. It all escalated after Musk reportedly criticised Trump's controversial 'One Big Beautiful Bill," a sweeping legislative package that Musk claimed would balloon the federal deficit and undermine his much-hyped Department of Government Efficiency—ironically acronymed DOGE. Trump didn't take the criticism lightly. Within 24 hours, he threatened to revoke government subsidies and contracts for Musk's companies, including Tesla and SpaceX. But Musk didn't stop there. In what could be described as a political nuke, he claimed that Trump was hesitant to release the long-sealed Jeffrey Epstein files 'because his name is on them." That accusation sent shockwaves across the media and triggered speculation across social platforms. Trump's rebuttal came swiftly, calling Musk's comments 'baseless," while also hinting at 'legal scrutiny" for the Tesla CEO. In the middle of this escalating circus, Vir Das' post serves as a cultural palate cleanser—an absurdist take on a saga that already feels like a satirical miniseries. Known for his globally resonant comedy and ability to blend humour with razor-sharp observations, Das has once again tapped into a moment that is as ridiculous as it is revealing. With fans hailing his post as 'better than any SNL sketch" and 'the only analysis we needed," it's clear that Das has not just lampooned the feud, but provided commentary on the age of ego wars, political theatre, and celebrity culture masquerading as governance. As Trump and Musk continue their digital slugfest, Das' comedic eulogy to their 'bromance" might just be the most accurate headline yet. First Published:

Beat Acidity This Summer With These Nutritionist-Recommended Foods

As the summer temperatures continue to rise, acidity spikes can be a common occurrence. It happens when your stomach produces too much acid, which causes a sharp burn in your throat or chest. When you develop acidity, also called heartburn, your stomach acid flows to the food pipe, irritating the lining. When acidity strikes, you might be tempted to drink cold drinks for immediate relief. But it can make the problem worse, making you feel bloated and nauseous. But fret not. You need not skip going out in the sun, as nutritionist Loveneet Batra has some useful tips for you. In her latest Instagram entry, Lovneet Batra shares four cooling foods that will help you keep acidity at bay. 'Struggling with acidity in the heat? Add these 4 cooling foods to your day and beat the burn this summer. Save this for your next meal plan!' reads her side note. Let's take a look. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lovneet Batra (@lovneetb) Top 4 foods to beat acidity in summer 1. Mint tea According to Lovneet Batra, mint not only comes with refreshing and cooling properties, but the menthol in it relaxes your gut muscles, easing the digestion process and reducing acidity. The best time to consume mint tea is after a meal, especially post-lunch or dinner. 2. Broccoli sprouts Packed with vitamin C and K, with a rich source of fibre and antioxidants, broccoli sprouts help in detoxifying your body, boost immunity, support good gut health and flush out toxins. Loveneet Batra recommends having them with a meal, adding them to your lunch or dinner bowls and not on an empty stomach. 3. Bael juice Bael aka wood apple, also contains detoxifying elements that soothe the stomach and treat acidity. They, too, must be consumed alongside a meal. Squeeze 30 ml of bael in diluted water and sip the drink early morning before breakfast. 4. Aloe vera This natural acid relief formula coats and heals your stomach lining gently. Consuming unsweetened aloe vera juice 15-20 minutes before meals can work wonders for your body. Add these foods to your diet today to beat acidity this summer.
