Coastguard warns people to 'be aware' after multiple incidents
Coastguards have warned people to stay vigilant when visiting the coast after rescuers had to respond to "a number of incidents" ahead of the weekend. On Friday, Falmouth Coastguard said it tasked its Lands End and Penzance rescue teams to assist a woman with a broken leg, and Bude and Boscastle coastguard rescue teams to assist and locate a man who had fallen on his ankle. They said staff also dealt with a capsized boat in Salcombe Harbour on Saturday morning.Gill Rylance, from the service, said the message was "be aware of the weather conditions" and stay in touch with somebody.
'Keep an eye out'
She said: "We're already coordinating an incident in Salcombe Harbour. We took a report of a vessel of three persons, their boat had capsized and three persons were in the water."They have been recovered from the water by a harbour vessel and the inshore lifeboat with Salcombe and Kingsbridge coastguard rescue team are going to assist."Ms Rylance said the public needed to be aware of the tides which were still "fairly high".She said: "Have a fully charged form of communication with you."If you are going walking or rock-pooling, let somebody know where you're going and how long you're likely to be so they are aware of when you should be back."If you are going over the rocks, keep an eye out for a way to get out should you be caught out by the tide; but also, if you see anything you think is of concern, then dial 999 and ask for the coastguard."

Samantha Armytage commits dangerous act in London as she goes bike riding in the city
Samantha Armytage is currently enjoying a relaxing holiday in London after filming The Golden Bachelor. But the Channel Nine host, 45, committed a dangerous act as she explored the city on Tuesday. Samantha shared a video to Instagram as she rode a bike through a park but she wasn't wearing a helmet. The TV star also revealed how she almost fell off the bike, captioning the post: 'Both hands on the wheel! Nearly fell off.' In the video, Samantha laughed as she turned the camera to reveal her scenic surroundings while on the bike. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The trip comes after Samantha was recently busy filming The Golden Bachelor. Cameras have officially started rolling on the Channel Nine dating show for older, single romantics looking for a second shot at love. Daily Mail Australia exclusively revealed Barry 'Bear' Myrden, a 50-something infrastructure engineer and passionate sailor from Sydney, has been handpicked as the leading man for the upcoming Australian adaptation. In exclusive pictures, Barry was seen filming the show in Sydney in March, and his cast of leading ladies have since been spotted arriving at the Sydney mansion where filming will take place. Barry, a father-of-three and a respected professional in the tech industry, currently works in Data Centre Management for Woolworths Group. With decades of experience in his field, he has held senior roles at major companies like Macquarie Bank and the NSW Port Authority. But while his career has flourished, sources close to Daily Mail Australia revealed his personal journey has been marked by tragedy as Barry is is widowed. 'Bear is always complaining that his boys are saying that he is bringing around the wrong kind of girls that are just too young and hot for him,' one friend revealed. 'We were always saying that he needs to be put on a show like MAFS, so seeing him up for the Bachelor role is no surprise.' Despite his corporate background, Barry is far from your typical office-bound executive. A passionate sailor, he has competed in high-profile races like the Sydney to Hobart. In one photo captured during one of his recent sailing ventures, Barry looked handsome and rugged as he manned a yacht. Unlike The Bachelor and The Bachelorette which feature young men and women, the Golden Bachelor is targeted at a more mature audience eager to watch how those who have already experienced great love and loss are chasing companionship in their next chapter. 'Bear is not your usual reality TV type,' an insider told Daily Mail Australia. 'He's charming, intelligent and has really lived a full life. He's been through love, loss and now he's ready to open his heart again. Women are going to adore him.' Local fans of the The Golden Bachelor have been calling for an Australian version since the US version premiered last year to critical acclaim. Producers are keeping tight-lipped about the contestants vying for Barry's heart, but if the US series is anything to go by the show promises to deliver a mix of heartwarming moments, deep connections and unexpected twists.

First hosepipe ban of the year imposed on tiny village where water levels are critically low
BRITAIN'S first hosepipe ban of the year has been imposed on a tiny village where water levels have become critically low. Youlgreave in Derbyshire has had its own water supply from a natural spring since 1829. 2 2 But after a two-month dry spell, 500 homes in the area are now subject to tough restrictions. Under the ban, residents are not allowed to water their gardens and must use a shower instead of a bath. They have also been urged to lay off the taps at peak times in a bid to preserve stocks. Officials said the ban is likely to last all summer and may need at least two weeks of continuous rainfall to overturn. Villager Chrissie Baker, 83, said: 'I'm delighted we have a hosepipe ban, to stop those idiots who spray their lawn the minute a bit of brown appears. 'All the grass grows back two days after the rain. It's stupid and very selfish.' Max Hunt, 72, said: 'I think it's necessary. It's been a particularly dry spring, so that causes its problems. I think most people will be able to cope with it.' Parish councillor Andrew McCloy said the ban is 'the earliest yet'. He said of the water supply: 'It's usually fairly consistent throughout the year. 'But when it gets really low, it's drawn from a nearby redundant mine. Even that is starting to dry out, which is why we're being really careful these days.' Major providers have said they may have to follow suit with a long, hot summer forecast. The North West is already in drought. UK water drowning in failure By Martina Bet THE nation's water system is riddled with failures and needs a total reset, a review warns. It slams the crumbling infrastructure after years of neglect. The report comes as Thames Water's £4billion rescue deal collapsed and South West Water owner Pennon posted huge losses. The Independent Water Commission review is the biggest since privatisation amid fury over pollution, bills and fat-cat bonuses. But former Bank of England deputy Sir Jon Cunliffe, who led it, said that regulators lacked the power to step in. Nationalisation was ruled out, but the interim findings call for stronger laws, tougher oversight and long-term investment. Industry body Water UK admitted: 'Everyone agrees that the water industry is not working.'
