As part of its continued efforts to support national workforce development and promote sustainable employment opportunities, the Ministry of Labour, represented by the Qualifying and Skills Development Department, in collaboration with Doha Bank, organised an introductory session on the Customer Service training-to-employment programme.
The session was attended by Qatari jobseekers and children of Qatari women, including university graduates and holders of secondary school qualifications. It aimed to familiarise participants with the programme's structure, objectives and enrolment process, preparing them for their transition into the banking sector.
The Customer Service programme is designed to equip participants with the essential professional and practical skills required in the field of banking. It features six months of intensive, hands-on training delivered at Doha Bank, offering real-world exposure to banking operations and client-facing roles.
The programme forms part of the ministry's wider nationalisation strategy, which aims to integrate Qatari talent into the private sector, particularly in high-priority fields such as financial services.
This initiative also aligns with the objectives of the Third National Development Strategy, which prioritises the development of national competencies and supports the Human Development Pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030. It reflects the ministry's commitment to building strong partnerships with private sector institutions to deliver impactful training opportunities and sustainable career pathways for Qatari nationals.
Through ongoing collaboration with leading private sector entities, the Ministry of Labour continues to implement training initiatives throughout the year that are tailored to meet the needs of the labour market. These programmes aim to enhance the readiness and competitiveness of national jobseekers, enabling them to play an active role in the country's long-term economic development.

Tribune News Network Doha The 2025 Summer Innovation Camp officially kicked off on Sunday, July 20, 2025. The camp is organized by the Young Entrepreneurs Club under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, in collaboration with Qatar Chamber, with support from the Qatar Development Bank (QDB) and hosted by Qatar University, with Snoonu as the innovation partner. The camp will run until August 12, featuring a variety of workshops and activities focused on startups, in addition to career exploration sessions targeting high school and university students. The camp's activities are held across multiple locations, including the Qatar Business Incubation Center (QBIC) and Qatar University. It aims to develop entrepreneurial and innovative thinking among youth, provide an interactive and educational environment for shaping ideas and entrepreneurial projects, enhance leadership and teamwork skills, and promote effective communication and critical thinking. It also offers valuable networking opportunities with entrepreneurs and industryprofessionals. Fawaz Abdullah Al Musaifri, director of Youth Affairs at the Ministry of Sports and Youth, said: 'At the Ministry of Sports and Youth, we place great importance on empowering young people and enhancing their skills. The organisation of the 2025 Summer Innovation Camp falls within the Ministry's strategic plan to build a creative and entrepreneurial generation capable of actively contributing to the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030 and implementing the National Youth Policy. 'This camp is part of the ministry's broader summer camp programme, implemented across all affiliated youth centers and institutions, aimed at providing interactive learning environments that strengthen youth capabilities and support their future aspirations. The Summer Innovation Camp embodies this vision by creating a supportive environment that encourages creativity, entrepreneurship, and teamwork, while offering real opportunities for learning and connecting with experts and business leaders.' Acting General Manager of Qatar Chamber Ali Boushrebak Al Mansouri affirmed the chamber's commitment to supporting entrepreneurship and empowering Qatari youth. He emphasised that the chamber's support for this camp stems from its firm belief in the importance of developing the capabilities of the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators. 'This camp represents a comprehensive national platform that combines practical knowledge with real-world experience, helping to build an entrepreneurial mindset among school and university students in Qatar,' he said. He added that Qatar Chamber's support for entrepreneurship activities is a natural extension of its role in enhancing the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country and building strategic partnerships with various national entities to support youth-led projects and advance economic diversification in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. Hala Ali Al Misnad, senior manager of SME Development Services at Qatar Development Bank, stated: 'The Innovation Summer Camp 2025, organised in collaboration with the Young Entrepreneurs Club, is part of QDB'S efforts to promote innovation among youth and build a new generation of innovators from among schools and universities students. The camp offers an integrated educational and training experience combining practical learning and real entrepreneurial exposure to the entrepreneurial ecosystem.' She also highlighted that the camp features field visits, including a guided tour to one of local factories supported by QDB and a career fair on the final day, offering networking opportunities with startups and experts. Dr Khalid Al Hashmi, director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Institutional Excellence at Qatar University, said: 'We are proud to be part of this national program. Qatar University is a key partner in enhancing students' skills and providing a hands-on educational environment that fosters entrepreneurial thinking and innovation within the academic community.' QNA Doha The Ministry of Labour (MoL) has confirmed that the labour sector statistics and performance indicators for Q2 2025 showed notable progress in electronic service delivery and field oversight, as the ministry continued implementing its digital transformation strategy to accelerate procedures, improve service quality, and enhance user experience. The statistical bulletin covering key national labour sector figures highlighted application volumes submitted via the Ministry's website alongside inspection outcomes across establishments. The Work Permits Department received 1,598,159 applications, including 1,012,750 to renew general work permits (Personal Number extension) and 73,216 applications for special work permits (family sponsorship/GCC national/investor/property beneficiary, etc.). The department also received 71,310 applications to register a new establishment's data and 82,164 applications for periodic establishment record updates, while applications handled by the Facility Administrators' Contact Information Management totaled 25,540. Regarding recruitment office inspections, the Q2 2025 bulletin recorded 730 on-site visits to licensed offices, resulting in one violation report, with the remaining visits concluding without observations. In regulating contractual relations, the Labour Relations Department processed 156,641 labour contract authentication applications, 44,118 full or partial labour secondment applications, and 15,550 occupation amendment requests. For field oversight of establishments subject to the Labour Law, Labour Inspection Department teams conducted 8,947 inspections during Q2 2025, issuing 723 wage protection related violation reports and 595 warnings to non-compliant companies. Concerning labour complaints, the Labour Disputes Department received 1,844 worker complaints against establishments, in addition to 49 public reports. A total of 3,358 complaints were settled amicably without escalation, while 1,593 cases were referred to the Labour Dispute Settlement Committees, which issued 1,484 rulings during the quarter. As part of the ministry's ongoing efforts to ensure a safe workingenvironment nationwide, the Occupational Safety and Health Department intensified monitoring, carrying out 6,916 inspection visits,4,613 to work sites and 2,303 to workers' accommodations as part of summer heat-stress prevention campaigns and to verify compliance with occupational safety requirements. The ministry affirmed that Q2 2025 bulletin results reflect the level of private-sector establishments' compliance with labour market regulations and the effectiveness of digital transformation in boosting governmental efficiency and accelerating high-quality service provision to stakeholders. The Ministry of Labour urges all employers, companies, and institutions subject to the Labour Law to adhere fully to the Law's provisions and related ministerial regulatory decisions in support of continued improvement of the work environment in the State of Qatar.
