Fifth Global Cybersecurity Forum to be held in October in Riyadh
RIYADH: The fifth Global Cybersecurity Forum will be held from Oct. 1-2 in Riyadh under the theme 'Scaling Cohesive Advancement in Cyberspace.'
To be held under the patronage of King Salman, the GCF 2025 will bring together global leaders, senior decision-makers, policymakers, industry experts and other international stakeholders for action-oriented collaboration around key challenges and opportunities in cyberspace.
This year's forum aims to scale the cohesive advancements accomplished by the GCF community, elevating their scope, capacity, and impact to advance toward a more secure and resilient cyberspace for all, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
It will focus on five sub-themes: 'Beyond the Inflection Point,' 'Cyber Economics Redefined,' 'Strengthening Cyber Inclusion,' 'Behavioral Lens in Cyberspace,' and 'Opportunities at the Cyber Horizon.'
Across the sub-themes, the GCF 2025 will advance dialogue toward building a secure and reliable cyberspace that supports economic growth, societal prosperity, individual security, and national stability.
Within this framework, it will address shared priorities such as fostering alignment in a rapidly evolving global landscape, advancing cyber economic cohesion to enable scalable growth and shared prosperity, strengthening collective action for a human-centered and inclusive cyberspace, leveraging behavioral insights to influence actions, counter manipulations, and foster safe cyber environments, and harnessing technological advancements to tackle fast-evolving challenges in cyberspace.
From its inception as an annual event in 2020, the GCF has evolved into a platform that works year-round to strengthen the safety and resilience of cyberspace.
Today, GCF is a global, non-profit organization that is accelerating progress on its objectives of catalyzing social impact, enabling economic prosperity, pushing knowledge boundaries, and advancing global, collaborative action.

Saudi Arabia on Thursday delivered a $30 million installment to Palestine, as part of the Kingdom's ongoing financial support to the State of Palestine for the year 2025, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). The Palestinian Minister of Finance, Omar Al-Bitar, received the installment at the Saudi Embassy in Amman, during a meeting with the Acting Chargé d'Affaires at the Saudi Embassy in Jordan, Mohammed bin Hassan Mounis. On this occasion, Al-Bitar hailed Saudi Arabia's continued financial and political support for Palestine, stressing its pivotal role in mitigating the financial crisis facing Palestine as a result of the recent Israeli policies. Furthermore, the Palestinian Minister expressed appreciation to Saudi Arabia for its steadfast historic position on Palestine, and its support for Palestine's legitimate rights, including the establishment of an independent Palestine state. Al-Bitar also conveyed the greetings of the Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, and Prime Minister, Muhammad Mustafa, to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, for their continued political, economic and humanitarian support. On his part, Mounis said that this installment underscores Saudi Arabia's commitment to supporting the Palestinian government and enabling it to meet its financial obligations. He also highlighted the significance of this financial support in strengthening the resilience of the Palestinian people and alleviating their suffering in the face of economic and humanitarian challenges. Moreover, Mounis noted that Saudi Arabia's aid to Palestine has amounted to $5.3 billion over the past years, including humanitarian, relief and development aid. Saudi Arabia provides $30m in support for Palestinian Authority
LONDON: Saudi Arabia has delivered $30 million to the Palestinian Authority to help alleviate the severe financial crisis it faces, which is blamed on Israeli policies designed to weaken it. The assistance was presented in Amman on Thursday to the Palestinian minister of finance, Omar Al-Bitar, by Mohammed Mounis, the acting chargé d'affaires at the Saudi Embassy in Jordan. Al-Bitar commended the Kingdom for the ongoing financial and political support it provides for Palestinians and their rights to independence and statehood. He thanked King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their leadership, and acknowledged the political, economic and humanitarian support they provide for his country. The minister added that the money given by Saudi Arabia is a significant contribution that is helping the Palestinian Authority cope with a financial crisis that is exacerbated by the policies of a far-right Israeli government. The financial support has been instrumental to the Palestinian Authority's efforts to maintain the health and education sectors, the Palestine News Agency reported. It has helped meet the costs of running hospitals, purchasing medicines and medical equipment, keeping schools open, and paying the salaries of medical staff, teachers and administrative workers. Over the years, support provided by the Kingdom for the Palestinian people has exceeded $5.3 billion for a total of 289 projects, according to figures from Saudi aid agency KSrelief. Mounis said his country remains committed to support for the Palestinian government, to help it fulfill its financial obligations and assist its people during this time of economic and humanitarian hardship, the Saudi Press Agency reported. He reaffirmed the Kingdom's steadfast support for upholding the rights of the Palestinian people.

Saudi program expands support in rural communities
RIYADH: The Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program, known as Saudi Reef, has announced that it now has 87,235 beneficiaries across the Kingdom. This is a part of efforts to promote economic and social stability in rural areas and support agricultural workers and families involved in cottage industries, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday. Majed Al-Buraikan, Saudi Reef's assistant secretary-general for media and communication, said the support from the nation's leadership has helped to expand the number of beneficiaries and achieve tangible results. He said this reflects the Kingdom's ongoing efforts to support the agricultural sector and develop rural areas, the SPA added. Al-Buraikan said the program has several main pillars, including developing agricultural and livestock production, empowering rural women, and supporting small-scale fishermen. The program also focuses on adding value to products which was key to sustainable rural development and boosting the income of families across the regions, he added. Al-Buraikan said Saudi Reef continues to provide direct support, training, and certification programs aimed at improving quality of life in rural areas. This was in addition to increasing the agricultural sector's contribution to the nation's gross domestic product, in line with the goals of Vision 2030, he said.
