IndiGo profit dips 20% to 2,176cr

Time of India31-07-2025
IndiGo's profit experienced a 20% decrease in the first quarter of 2025-26, falling to
Rs 2
,176 crore from Rs 2,729 crore during the same period last year, primarily due to the impact of the India-Pakistan war and the subsequent closure of 32 airports in northern, western, and central India for three months, along with ongoing
airspace restrictions
. Despite these challenges, the airline's passenger numbers increased.
The airline's profit decline is attributed to the disruption in travel caused by the geopolitical situation and airport closures.
However, IndiGo managed to increase its passenger numbers despite the challenges.
IndiGo CEO acknowledged the impact on travel during the April-June period.
"Travel was impacted in April-June but still the airline saw its passenger number rise 11.6% to 3.1 crore," the CEO said.
The airline reported a passenger increase of 11.6%, reaching 3.1 crore passengers.
