
SAI participates in GCC meeting of financial, accounting audit bureaus
Oman's delegation was headed by Ahmed bin Salim Al Rujaibi, SAI Deputy Chairman for Audit of Government Units.
The meeting, held via video-conferencing from the State of Kuwait, covered a number of topics, notably discussions regarding the report on the recommendations and outcomes of the training strategic plan for the period (2023-2025).
The meeting also included discussion of the draft training strategic plan (2026-2028), in addition to reviewing the results of the 6th GCC competition for research and studies in the field of audit and accounting.
The meeting also included a review of the MoU between the King Fahd National Library and the General Secretariat of the GCC, in addition to a highlighting the draft regulations for the Professional Excellence Award in the GCC Financial and Accounting Audit Bureaus.
Furthermore, the meeting touched on the draft joint training plan for employees of the GCC Financial and Accounting Audit Bureaus for the years (2026-2027), in addition to studying the proposal of the Audit Rules Working Group regarding the impact measurement form for applying the manuals issued by the Secretariat General of the GCC.
It also discussed the form for simplifying the use of manuals in auditing, as well as the proposal for (governance of the audit mechanism of the General Secretariat of the GCC), and the proposal of the Audit Rules Working Group regarding allocating a Gulf week for financial and accounting audit.

HM the Sultan meets UK Prime Minister
London: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik met with Keir Starmer, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (UK). The meeting took place at the Prime Minister's Office in London on Wednesday. The meeting was attended from the Omani side by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, Dr. Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office and Badr bin Mohammed Al Manthri, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Meanwhile, it was attended from the British side by Jonathan Powell, UK National Security Advisor and Dr. Liane Saunders, Ambassador of the UK to the Sultanate of Oman.

Dhofar Governorate to host exhibition supporting SMEs
Dhofar: Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), represented by the SMEs Committee, will organise the "Tamkeen and Sumou" (Empowerment and Elevation) exhibition on 5 August in Dhofar Governorate. The exhibition will feature the participation of over 60 SMEs from various sectors. The participating sectors in the exhibition include tourism, retail, restaurants, and handicrafts. This aligns with the Chamber's directives aimed at expanding economic diversification and empowering SMEs for growth and expansion. The exhibition seeks to promote these enterprises' products, enhance their competitiveness in local markets, and provide opportunities for building commercial relationships with private sector entities. The exhibition will include specialised sections, notably the Entrepreneurs' Corner, Innovation Corner, Handicraft and Manual Workshops Corner, and the Young Entrepreneur Corner, which showcases children's talents and products. The exhibition will also feature the "Sohar International Competition," aiming to enhance display quality, highlight product identity, and encourage entrepreneurs towards excellence and creativity. The exhibition serves as a significant platform for promoting entrepreneurship in Oman and stimulating innovation and economic diversification across different governorates. This falls within the Chamber's efforts to support the private sector and empower Omani entrepreneurs.

Perfume factory inaugurated in Raysut Industrial City
Salalah: Al-Khanjar Perfumes and Incense Factory was inaugurated on Wednesday in Raysut Industrial City in the Wilayat of Salalah, Dhofar Governorate, with an investment exceeding OMR3 million. The opening ceremony was held under the patronage of HH Sayyid Marwan Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, in the presence of Dr. Saleh Said Masan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Commerce and Industry, along with a number of officials, stakeholders, and entrepreneurs. Mohammed Said Jaddad, CEO of Al-Khanjar Perfumes and Incense Factory, stated that the factory was established on an area of 6,000 square metres and equipped with the latest industrial technologies and machinery. It features an advanced production infrastructure comprising four high-capacity production lines. In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), he explained that the factory includes a liquid perfume production line with a daily capacity of 15,000 bottles, an incense production line with a capacity of 6,000 packages per day, a dedicated line for traditional aromatic products with a capacity of 5,000 packages daily, and a concentrated fragrance compounds production line with a capacity of 10,000 bottles per day. This will efficiently meet the demands of the local and Gulf markets with high competitiveness and quality. The ceremony featured a visual presentation highlighting the factory's Omani identity and its establishment phases, followed by a field tour of the production lines. Attendees observed the perfume and incense manufacturing processes and met with the factory's workforce. The establishment of the factory aims to strengthen the presence of Omani products in local and regional markets by producing a diverse range of high-quality perfumes and incense. This contributes to supporting the national economy and achieving economic diversification goals. The project is a qualitative addition to Dhofar Governorate's industrial investment ecosystem and one of the initiatives supporting job creation for citizens while revitalizing the industrial sector as part of the national strategy for sustainable economic growth.
