Jason Kelce Throws Subtle Shade at Travis Kelce Amid Over Career Position
The NFL season will be here before we know it, and the news cycle is already heating up. As the Kansas City Chiefs gear up for another run, star tight end Travis Kelce has been keeping busy during the offseason with travel and event appearances.
Meanwhile, his older brother Jason Kelce is enjoying retirement and keeping a close eye on the league he played in for more than a decade. The Kelce brothers co-host the popular podcast "New Heights," and during a recent episode, their friendly sibling banter took center stage.

On Friday's episode, the topic turned to 'Tight End U,' the fourth annual event held in Nashville, where Travis was in attendance. The event is widely viewed as a summit for top NFL tight ends to connect, train and share insights.
Travis proudly described it as 'a summit for the best position in football,' referring to tight ends. Jason, never one to let a chance for teasing slip by, responded with a smirk, calling it 'more like the most ambiguous position ever created.'
When Travis argued that tight ends 'get to do everything,' Jason couldn't help but poke fun, saying, 'Fans of tight ends...nobody.' Travis didn't retaliate, instead joking, 'I'm not throwing shade at the center position. I like Creed,' referencing Creed Humphrey, the Chiefs' standout center.

As the conversation continued, Jason shifted focus to what's happening around the Tight End U event.
'We've got some fun stuff this year, not just for NFL tight ends but for everyone in the Nashville area.' Travis also noted the event isn't just for kids but for football fans of all ages.

Jason played in the NFL from 2011 to 2023. He was part of the Super Bowl LII champion Philadelphia Eagles. He made seven Pro Bowl appearances and was named to the All-Pro team six times. Jason played in 193 career games, starting all of them.
Travis will be 36 years old in October. After a playing career with the Cincinnati Bearcats, he was the 63rd overall pick in the NFL Draft. He has been with the Kansas City Chiefs since 2013.

Travis has three Super Bowl rings and has been selected to the Pro Bowl 10 times. He holds the NFL record for most career postseason receptions with 174.
The Kansas City Chiefs were knocked off in an effort to three-peat as Super Bowl Champions, by Jason's former team, the Philadelphia Eagles in February.

Jason Universe is coming to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando Resort on Aug. 29 and Universal Studios Hollywood on Sept. 4. Halloween Horror Nights will also be featuring a haunted house based on the video game and television series Fallout.

49ers defensive coordinator shares admiration for his quarterback Through the first three years of his NFL career, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has been really solid, leading the team to a 23-13 record in his 36 starts and completing 67.5% of his passes for 9,518 yards, 64 touchdowns and 27 interceptions. Considering San Francisco took Purdy with the final pick in the 2022 NFL draft out of Iowa State, what he's accomplished to this point has been remarkable. That's why the 49ers decided to address the situation early and give their quarterback a massive five-year, $265 million extension earlier this offseason. While Purdy is now set for life financially, this new contract has brought out even more doubters than the Cyclone product has dealt with during his time in the league. However, Purdy does have plenty of supporters, including defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, who is returning to San Francisco's sidelines after serving as the head coach of the New York Jets from 2021-24. "I think highly of him. I really do. He is really good," Saleh told reporters earlier this week. "You get jaded sometimes, I think, when you're looking at certain players for a certain amount of time. As a new face coming in and seeing Brock, [he's] pretty damn good. I can see where you get so used to seeing it, it becomes the standard, and you're always trying to elevate it, but not every head coach or not every organization is able to look at their quarterback and compare them to Brock. Brock is a damn good quarterback. I try not to poorly on other quarterbacks around the league, but he's one of the better ones." In three seasons, Purdy has led the 49ers to the postseason twice, which is two more times than any quarterback has done for the Jets since 2010. Bringing a team to multiple NFC championship games and a Super Bowl while still on your rookie deal is an impressive feat, even if Purdy has had talented players around him. It has to be great for 25-year-old to hear this praise from a coach who's been outside the building and has watched him from afar and will now get a chance to test him in practice. After big 2024 season, Packers RB Josh Jacobs wants more explosive plays in 2025
Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs produced a big-time statistical season and made the Pro Bowl during his first season in Green Bay, but the veteran runner wants to become truly elite in 2025 -- and he thinks reaching that goal will require more explosive, game-changing runs. After Wednesday's OTA session, Jacobs said he left some yards "on the table" in 2024, when he turned 301 carries into 1,329 yards -- the sixth-most rushing yards in the NFL. The difference between Jacobs and those ahead of him? Winning in a couple of big spots and creating more explosive runs. Advertisement "It was a few plays where I had some 1-on-1s, where if I made a person miss or broke that tackle, it was the difference between a 20-yard gain and a 60-yard gain. Those little things like that, those make people elite. So that's what I'm trying to come into the offseason and work on," Jacobs said. Jacobs has the right idea, according to the numbers -- he produced zero runs of 40 or more yards and only seven of 20 or more last season. In comparison, Saquon Barkley -- who won the rushing title with over 2,000 yards -- had 17 runs of 20 or more and seven of 40 or more. Jacobs might not have Barkley's elite breakaway speed, but making a linebacker or defensive back miss at the second level can still be the difference between a 10-yard run and a 50-yard run. Jacobs said he worked on conditioning and body callousing to ensure he's always in a position -- regardless of time in a game or week of the season -- to create a big play in a big spot. Advertisement It's possible a few upgrades along the offensive line, starting with the addition of left guard Aaron Banks, will help Jacobs accomplish his goal. According to Pro Football Focus, Jacobs gained 1,039 of his 1,329 yards after first contact, highlighting how much individual effort it took to gain consistent yards in 2024. In comparison, Barkley gained just over half of his total yards after first contact -- suggesting he had superior blocking from the Eagles offensive line. Mix good blocking with an elite talent and the numbers will follow. The Packers already have the elite rushing talent in Jacobs, but the consistency of the run blocking must improve. "If you take a good back and you give him space, that separates a lot of people," Jacobs said. Advertisement Jacobs finished the 2024 season with four runs of 30 or more yards and a long run of 38 yards. He did have 33 runs of 10 or more yards, ranking sixth overall. Challenging for the rushing crown in 2025 might require Jacobs to turn more of the 10-yard runs into 30-yard runs, and turning his 30-yard runs into the long, game-changing plays that backs such as Barkley and Derrick Henry produced last season.
