Nicole Kidman 'up for' bringing together all her TV characters into one show

Perth Now17-05-2025

Nicole Kidman would be "up for" uniting all her TV characters into one show.
The 57-year-old actress - who has appeared in programmes including 'Nine Perfect Strangers', 'Big Little Lies', 'The Undoing' and 'The Perfect Couple' in recent years - is always "game" for a new challenge and thinks it would be "hilarious" to bring all of her alter egos together.
Asked about the possibility, she told People magazine: 'That's hilarious. I'd be up for it.
'As you know, I'm up for most things. I like to be able to say I'm game. So I'm always ready to try things.
'I have a huge passion for what I do. I love doing what I do, and I've been incredibly fortunate in my journey, and I'm just always a bit excited. I don't take any of it for granted. I'm like, 'Okay, thank you. Thank you, universe.' "
Nicole can next be seen reprising her role as lifestyle guru Masha in a new series of 'Nine Perfect Strangers' and she was thrilled to get the chance to play such a "shark" again.
Asked why she signed on for a second season, she said: 'Because she's fun and powerful, and [castmate] Maisie [Richardson-Sellers] said something like, 'Masha sharks it.' So I was like, 'What does that mean?' But I think that means she's a shark. She comes in, and I don't get to play sharks very often."
Despite being "up for" most things professionally, Nicole insisted she won't be enlisting husband Keith Urban - the father of her daughters Sunday, 16, and 14-year-old Faith - to be her co-star in any of her TV shows or movies.
She said: 'We're together in life, so we don't need to do our show together. Our life is a show.'
The 'Babygirl' star - who also has Isabella, 32, and Connor, 30, with her ex-husband Tom Cruise - has also turned her attention to producing but teased recently that she is "still finding [her] voice behind the camera, and hopes her "best work" is still to come, having been mentored by the likes of former Paramount Pictures chief executive Sherry Lansing.
She told HELLO! Magazine: "I love the involvement and the collaboration that being a producer offers.
"I've had an amazing group of mentors and people who have pushed me.
"But I'm still finding my voice, and I'm hoping that I haven't done my best work yet."

Nicole Scherzinger was 'never satisfied' with career

Nicole Scherzinger was "never satisfied" with herself until she landed her role in Sunset Boulevard. The former Pussycat Dolls singer - who first played Norma Desmond in the revival in London's West End before transferring over to New York's Broadway - credits the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical for changing her life because she didn't think she'd achieved her "full potential" before stepping onto the stage in the show. Speaking on the red carpet at the Tony Awards on Sunday (08.06.25), Nicole told E! News: 'I always felt like I wasn't living in my full potential, my full purpose, and I was never happy with myself, never satisfied. 'It's because I knew I had so much more to give, and this role in this opportunity allowed me to give all of me, and it's changed my life, and I'm so grateful for it.' The 46-year-old star believes her work on Sunset Blvd. - for which she won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical - has helped her find a better way to "connect" with people, She said: 'I'm so grateful that I'm able to connect with people on a deeper, soulful, spiritual level, that I could make a difference in these people's lives, because that's what we do it for. "That's exactly what we do it for. So I'm just so thankful.' But Nicole doesn't believe she could have handled her gruelling stage schedule without her faith. She said: 'I'm still tired because I just finished a matinee and cried my eyes out in that performance. I'm just grateful. 'I'm grateful to God, because God has carried me when I wanted to give up, and he has held me through this entire process. So I give all the glory to Him. Already. It's a very been a very healing process for me.' During her acceptance speech at the Tony Awards, Nicole urged people not to "give up" on their dreams. She said: "Growing up, I always felt like I didn't belong, but you all have made me feel like I belong and I have come home at last. "So if there is anyone who feels like they don't belong or your time hasn't come, don't give up. Just keep on giving and giving because the world needs your love and light more than ever. This is a testament that love always wins." The former X Factor judge - who previously won an Olivier Award for Best Actress when she plated the role in London - fought off competition from Death Becomes Her stars Megan Hilty and Jennifer Simard, Audra McDonald for her role in Gypsy, Boop actress Jasmine Amy Rogers to collect the coveted prize.

Ridley Scott reveals Bee Gees biopic will start filming in November

Sir Ridley Scott will start shooting his Bee Gees biopic in November 2025. The 87-year-old director is to tell the story of the band of brothers, comprised of Barry Gibb, Maurice Gibb and Robin Gibb, on the big screen and filming is tentatively scheduled to begin at the end of the year. When asked if he is shooting any movies in 2025, Ridley answered: "I am… the Bee Gees in November. "I think so. That's what I dare say." Ridley says the movie from Paramount Pictures will tell the story of the trio from their childhood right up to the present day, covering their incredible impact on disco due to the soundtrack they created for 1977 movie 'Saturday Night Fever' - which starred John Travolta as dancer Tony Manero - and the deaths of Maurice and his fraternal twin Robin. In an interview with website Collider, he said: "It's really about the brothers and how close the brothers were as a gifted family. They're really very much a family. I think Barry very much was the leader of them, but then Robin also had the voice initially and was also a very good writer. They were a fulfilled team. "It is lovely to see this drawn out from scratch. We'll go from eight years old to the end." Scott has started the casting process for the three siblings but is remaining tight-lipped on who may take on the roles as the 'Night Fever' hitmakers. He said: "I've already got my footprints and handprints, or requests is a better way of putting it, on those names. And no, I can't say who they are." Scott also has a Western movie in the pipeline. The 'Alien' director has bought the rights to the script and has described the story as "the best Western I've ever read". He said: "I have a Western, which is the best Western I've ever read. It was on a shelf of an author who had died. It's from his estate. We tracked it. I bought the script, so I own it, and the moment will come to make it. "I still have to do a musical. I still have to do a pirate movie. I still have to do a Western."

Kylie Minogue has 'told a story' with each of her fragrances

Kylie Minogue has "told a story" with each of her fragrances. The 57-year-old pop icon launched her first perfume Darling in 2006, and almost 20 years later, she has explained that her latest offerings - a duo named Lovers Fleur and Lovers Noir as a nod to her hit single All The Lovers and indeed the name for her fanbase - correlate with her music and life at present. She told Britain's Hello! Magazine: "Each fragrance has told a story. To me, both fragrances are confident, with a warmth and hedonism to them. I feel like that is like a lot of my music of late, and I love diving into these tunes and feelings and sharing those with audiences. I feel they are very in tune with my life right now." The Spinning Around legend has collaborated with master perfumer Ilias Ermenidis over the years to design her fragrances, and explained that he has helped her with the "narrative" of her latest venture as well. She said: "Over the years, he has come to know me and the scents that I absolutely adore, and he has distilled that into the Lovers narrative with a masterful touch." Meanwhile, Kylie - who was famously diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 but was declared cancer-free the following year - recalled growing up in her native Australia where she was "all about maxing out that tan" but now "prioritises" the protection of her skin in the hot weather. She said: "When I was a kid growing up in Australia, sun protection was just becoming something we were paying attention to. "Through some of my teenage years, I have to confess, I detoured around that and was all about maxing out that tan. But into my 20s, I became very sun-aware and now do my best to make sun protection a priority." When it comes to achieving her smooth complexion, the Padam Padam songstress has three things in her beauty routine. She said: "Three things that can usually get me out of a tight fix start with a colour lipstick or creme blush that can go anywhere I want for a little flush of colour on my face. "[Moisturiser] can be patted on the points that I thnk could use a little sheen, like cheekbones, and can be lightly applied to hair to de-frizz."
