Dolly Parton had conditions before agreeing to Sabrina Carpenter's remix
In February, the country music icon teamed up with pop star Sabrina for a remix of the 25-year-old's hit song Please Please Please. In an interview with Knox News, Dolly, 79, has now revealed that she had a few rules that Sabrina had to agree to before she signed on for the project. "Of course, she can talk a little bad now and then," the Jolene hitmaker said of the Nonsense singer. "I told her, I said, now, I don't cuss. I don't make fun of Jesus."

Dolly Parton declined Meghan Markle's Netflix show invite: Report
(NewsNation) — Meghan Markle invited country singer Dolly Parton to appear on her Netflix show 'With Love, Meghan' but was reportedly turned down. According to celebrity commentator Kinsey Schofield, Parton's team was 'livid' at the request. Actor Ellen Pompeo says she was detained by TSA over sunflower seeds 'They don't want to risk Dolly's reputation Q score and her popularity by associating with Meghan Markle,' Schofield alleged during a podcast appearance. 'They knew that this ask was just to give Meghan Markle credibility in this lifestyle space, a space that Dolly does have a lot of credibility in.' Schofield went on to say that her team felt as if Markle was trying to take advantage of her popularity. Markle's lifestyle series was released on Netflix in March and was immediately renewed for a second season despite being slammed by critics. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. What We Know About Sabrina Carpenter's New Song, 'Manchild'
Sabrina Carpenter heard we needed another song of the summer, and she's here to deliver. After the global success of her megahit, 'Espresso,' which defined 2024 beyond the scorching temps, the petite pop star is back for more with her new single, 'Manchild.' She teased the track with a blurred lo-fi clip of her hitchhiking on the side of a highway in sky-high heels and daisy dukes shorter than my last situationship. Of course, Sab's fans and friends couldn't contain themselves, responding with pure excitement. 'Thank god,' her stylist, Jared Ellner, wrote, while her Short n' Sweet tourmate and Cosmo UK cover girl Rachel Chinouriri added, 'I'm omw to pick you up babes, forget them x.' 'This one's about you!!' she wrote on social media upon the single's official announcement. Per billboards plastered across the I-69 highway (lol, touché, Sabrina), some of its lyrics might include 'Amen / Hey men' and 'I swear they choose me, I'm not choosing them.' Fans speculate that these lines could be about her ex, Barry Keoghan, though nothing has been confirmed. 'Sabrina's not holding back and if 'Manchild' is half as sharp as that caption, we're in for a bold, catchy callout,' one fan wrote on social media while another chimed in, 'I just know she's gonna cook Barry so hard.' Sabrina and Barry kept their relationship relatively lowkey (ya know, aside from the 'Please Please Please' music video) as they dated for nearly a year before reportedly breaking things off last December. The song, which is rumored to be the lead single to her seventh album, drops on Thursday, June 5, at 8 p.m. EST. It comes just in time for her headlining festival run this summer at Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, and Primavera Sound. 'Manchild' also follows Sabrina's sixth record, Short n' Sweet, which won a Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album earlier this year. And, for the record: it's already gone triple platinum in my house, though it's not even out yet.

Fans Think Sabrina Carpenter's Manchild Is A Dig At Barry Keoghan
After dominating 2024 with hits like Espresso, Please Please Please and Taste, Sabrina Carpenter is teasing a return to the charts. On Monday, the two-time Grammy winner posted a teaser for new music on social media, showing her hitchhiking along an American highway. — Sabrina Carpenter (@SabrinaAnnLynn) June 2, 2025 The following day, Sabrina announced that her new single, Manchild, would be released in the early hours of Friday morning, alongside a message that teased: 'This one's about you!!' And the title of the song, alongside her cryptic message, led many to assume that the song was inspired by the pop singer's short-lived romance with Oscar nominee Barry Keoghan, with whom she was reported to have split towards the end of last year… Manchild… oh Barry you fucked up… thank you for that cause this is gonna be so good — 🍁🎀🇨🇦 Tea🇨🇦🎀🍁 (@CertainTeaa) June 3, 2025 I told my sister sabrina's new single is called manchild and she's like 'barry' 💀 — ashley🫧 (@blackcherryox) June 3, 2025 BARRY WELCOME TO UR TAPE 🔥 — Ange (@angeplusfour) June 4, 2025 Okay, is Manchild going to be a diss song to Barry…….🤔 SABRINA?! — Abby Needs HS4 (@AbbyAbbyb1) June 3, 2025 sabrina bout to get on this track and curse barry all the way out i'm too ready — 🫧 (@arilikeatari) June 3, 2025 Barry, just when he thought he wouldn't get asked any more Sabrina Carpenter related questions. — Marco Monteiro (@MMonteiro90) June 3, 2025 barry keoghan fan voice: hey maybe it's about shawn mendes — eli manning fireworks (@cooldetat) June 4, 2025 this bout to be the most passive-aggressive anthem of the summer and i'm READY — huh. Back in December, the Banshees Of Inisherin actor hit back at a wave of abuse that was being levelled at him when it was first reported that he and Sabrina had parted ways, which included jibes about his appearances, criticism of his skills as a father and derogatory comments about his late mother, who died when he was 12 years old. 'I can only sit and take so much,' Barry wrote on X at the time. 'My name has been dragged across the internet in ways I usually don't respond too. I have to respond now because it's getting to a place where there are too many lines being crossed.' He also deactivated his Instagram around this time, saying he could 'no longer let this stuff distract from my family and my work'. Please be respectful x — Barry Keoghan (@BarryKeoghan) December 7, 2024 Barry and Sabrina are believed to have begun dating in late 2023, after meeting at a Givenchy fashion show. They later hard-launched their relationship on the Met Gala red carpet last year, seven months before it was reported that they had split.
