Goodwood or Deauville options for Field Of Gold

John and Thady Gosden's colt has followed an identical route to his brilliant sire Kingman so far this season by finishing second in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket before going one better in the Irish equivalent and then bolting up in the St James's Palace Stakes.
With Kingman going on to land the Sussex and then the Marois on what proved to be the final start of his career, the Juddmonte team are hopeful Field Of Gold can at least match if not surpass his father's achievements.

'He's come out of Ascot in great form, as far as I know they are all happy with him,' said Juddmonte's European racing manager Barry Mahon.
'It was a great result, he's obviously an exceptional horse and it was nice to see it all come together on a big day.
'I suppose his dad's three-year-old season got cut short a little bit and hopefully this lad will be able to continue that run for the rest of the year.
'I think that seems to be the train of thought, sort of Sussex or Jacques le Marois next. He'll tell us closer to the time whether he's ready for Goodwood or he needs another week or two.'
With the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown on Saturday week seemingly coming too soon, if Field Of Gold is to test his powers over a mile and a quarter at some stage that will have to wait until later in the summer, with the Juddmonte International at York considered an 'obvious' potential target.
Mahon added: 'At the start of the season we were more bullish about going a mile and a quarter, but the more they keep winning at a mile you start questioning it.
'I'm sure we'll try it at some stage and that (Juddmonte International) would be an obvious place to do it if we wanted to go that way.'

Celtic transfer target 'in Glasgow' as £1.5m deal nears

Reports suggest the Sweden winger, a target for the Hoops, is in the final stages of a £1.5 million transfer from Danish club Nordsjaelland. The 23-year-old's transfer was believed to have stalled but is now apparently back on track. The Daily Record said that Nygren is set to sign a long-term contract, four years with an option for a fifth. Read more: This follows Celtic's recent re-signings of Kieran Tierney and Ross Doohan, strengthening both the squad and their homegrown quota for European competitions. Derek McInnes makes early Hearts confession as he looks to avoid familiar Kilmarnock 'strain'

The Jambos' boss is looking towards the campaign and what will help the Jambos' get off to the perfect start Derek McInnes would love nothing more than to have a Hearts Euro adventure to look forward to. But the Tynecastle gaffer admits their failure to qualify this season could HELP his bid to get them off to a flier domestically. ‌ McInnes has been hired as Neil Critchley's replacement in Gorgie after they finished in the bottom half of the Scottish Premiership last term. ‌ That means no European football for the new boss, which he's gutted about. But having been there with Kilmarnock a year ago, he's realistic enough to know that having a clear run at the Premier Sports Cup group phase - as well as the league - could be beneficial as they look to hit the ground running. McInnes said: 'I'd rather have to deal with European fixtures, the congestion and all the disruption that can cause. 'That's what I want us to be and where I want us to be. But unfortunately, we've got to look from the outside in this season. 'And when you don't have European football to contend with, it's important you try to make hay at the start of the season and get off to a strong start. 'At Killie, there's no doubt that we suffered a wee bit last season. There are many advantages if you're playing in Europe. ‌ 'But I think, from a new manager's point of view, just focusing on one game a week can help. 'Europe does put strain on you and unless you've got a really strong squad to deal with it, it can cause you issues. If you are playing Saturday, Thursday, Sunday, your opponents domestically are focusing solely on you - whereas you are only turning your eyes to them on Friday. ‌ 'The team you are up against, unless they are in Europe, always have an advantage.' Before league business starts, McInnes and his team must navigate a League Cup group stage that features games against Dunfermline, Hamilton, Stirling Albion and Dumbarton. And the manager insists he'll be playing the strongest team he's got ahead of the Premiership kick-off. ‌ He said: 'I will play the best team possible. I might have the luxury of being able freshen the team up but there will be no playing about with the team – it will be the strongest Hearts team in every game." New look Man City batter Juventus to send clear message to Club World Cup rivals

JUVENTUS 2-5 MANCHESTER CITY: Pep Guardiola's side thrashed the Italian giants as they secured top spot in their Club World Cup group with an impressive and dominant performance They even brought the rain to make Manchester City feel right at home. But Pep Guardiola and Co will be able to enjoy the usual Florida sunshine for at least a few more days yet as they booked their place in the last 16 of the Club World Cup. City absolutely battered and outclassed Juventus with a victory which also delivered a strong message of intent against another European superpower to book their tie in Orlando next Monday. ‌ This city is used to sunshine and soaring temperatures but the humidity was eased a little bit by the English weather with a huge downpour of heavy rain just before half time. ‌ It sent most of the 54,320 crowd running for cover as the Camping World Stadium was suddenly drenched because there are no roofs let alone air conditioning in this place. But City looked so strong, in control and like potential winners as Guardiola must feel as if his team - with new signings like Rayan Aït-Nouri and Tijjani Reijnders settling in nicely - are gaining momentum and belief. They are one of the teams who can believe they can win the tournament and this match was also a nice taste of things to come because City played at a high level. Erling Haaland scored his 300th career goal - only his second from open play since February - while Jeremy Doku sparkled and scored, Phil Foden and Savinho got in on the act plus Matheus Nunes was involved in two of the goals. They did concede after a terrible mistake by City keeper Ederson and Dušan Vlahović got a late consolation but the defence was largely untroubled. ‌ City started well and took an early lead as Aït-Nouri's superb slide rule pass completely unlocked the Juventus defence which allowed Doku to race through and slot a low shot into the far corner. But their good work was undone by Ederson who made a rare error playing out from the back to allow Teun Koopmeiners to equalise after 11 minutes. But City were back in front before half time and this time they were the recipients of a complete gift. Nunes broke down the right, sent over a low cross and inexplicably Pierre Kalulu could not sort out of his feet and put the ball into his own net. ‌ Haaland replaced Omar Marmoush at half time and that change was quickly rewarded as the giant striker got City's third. Reijnders played Nunes down the line and his pull back was so easy for Haaland that he almost tripped over his own feet and still scored. Incredibly, that was Haaland's 33rd goal of the season and also marked his 300th career goal. And this was supposed to be a lean year by his standards. City got a fourth after 69 minutes. Haaland played the ball up to Phil Foden, Savinho then tried to get in on the act before Foden finished it off with a tap-in from close range. Savinho did then get his own goal for City's fifth after 75 minutes with a shot which crashed in off the bar before Vlahovic made the score look semi respectable as he sprang the offside trap to get a late consolation.
