The invitation to join Their Gracious Majesties was part of Sir Anwar's 90th Birthday celebrations.
By honouring Sir Anwar on his 90th birthday The King has shown his deep appreciation of the significant contribution that the founder of Bestway has made to the British Society over his 60-year career.
Sir Anwar immigrated from Pakistan to the UK in 1956, having worked in various jobs in Bradford, he then moved to London and set up his first retail store in 1963; he founded Bestway in 1976.
Sir Anwar through his business and charitable endeavours he has a long history of encouraging entrepreneurship and furthering dynamism specially within marginalised communities of the country.
Every year Bestway Group hosts its charity race day at the Royal Ascot, this year's main beneficiary charity was the British Asian Trust.
The British Asian Trust was founded in 2007 by His Majesty King Charles III. BAT is a diaspora-led international development organisation, delivering high-quality programmes in South Asia and specialises in, and champion the use of, social finance products to drive positive change across the region. The charity seeks to make South Asia that is free from poverty by unlocking the potential of disadvantaged people in South Asia by maximising the impact and support from the South Asian diaspora and beyond.

Chinese FM Wang Yi arrives in Islamabad for three-day official visit
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived in Islamabad on Wednesday for a three-day official visit at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. Pakistan, Afghanistan, China hold first trilateral talks

Photo : Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar landed in Kabul today for the first formal trilateral meeting between China, Pakistan and Afghanistan in two years. Dar was accompanied by Pakistan's former ambassador in Afghanistan Mohammad Sadiq. The three countries made commitments to combat terrorism and deepen collaboration in areas of health, education, culture, drug trafficking, and also offering Afghanistan an extension to CPEC, according to Foreign Office. In a statement released by the Afghan Foreign Ministry 'Pakistan was urged to uphold the rights of Afghan refugees residing in the country and Ishaq Dar expressed determination to further expand trade with Afghanistan.' There was an emphasis on combating terrorism by Dar, 'he highlighted a recent surge in terrorist attacks inside Pakistan perpetrated by groups operating from Afghan soil, urging the Afghan authorities to take concrete and verifiable measures against entities such as the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA)/Majeed Brigade,' according to a statement released by the Foreign Office. The Afghan delegation reiterated their commitment to ensuring that Afghan territory is not used by any terrorist group against any other nation. Afghanistan and China had held bilateral talks earlier that day where they discussed economic cooperation. According to a tweet by the Afghan Foreign Ministry, 'Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi presented his practical proposals regarding the expansion of economic cooperation between Afghanistan and China, particularly in the areas of transportation cooperation, banking relations and balancing trade.' Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, currently doing a South Asian tour, is scheduled to arrive in Islamabad to co-chair the 6th Pakistan-China foreign ministers strategic dialogue on 21st August. Billionaire reportedly planning Titanic wreck expedition two years after Oceangate tragedy
Two years after the Oceangate tragedy that claimed five lives, a billionaire is reportedly planning a private expedition to the Titanic wreck. The ship lies 12,500 feet below the North Atlantic Ocean and has remained off limits since the 2023 disaster. The Oceangate incident occurred in June 2023 when the Titan submersible imploded during a dive to the Titanic. The accident killed Oceangate CEO Stockton Rush, British businessman Hamish Harding, Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman, and French explorer Paul-Henri Nargeolet. The event triggered global scrutiny over deep-sea tourism and private expedition safety. Despite this, interest in the Titanic remains undiminished. According to the New York Post, a new mission is being prepared with a billionaire participant whose identity has not yet been revealed. 'I heard that somebody is going down to the Titanic in a couple weeks,' a source said. 'What I can tell you is that it's a billionaire. Going down there will cost $10 million. You would recognize his name.' The source added that the individual intends to announce the voyage as the first return to the Titanic since the Oceangate disaster. The fascination with the Titanic continues to draw explorers more than a century after its sinking in 1912. The planned dive has reignited debate about the risks and allure of visiting one of the most iconic shipwrecks in history.
