Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez 'are forced to MOVE Venice wedding party venue due to protests and US involvement in Iran war'

Amazon boss Jeff Bezos and bride to be Lauren Sanchez 's have been forced to change one of the venues for their £36million Venice wedding because of 'rising global tensions' it was claimed today. Bezos and Sanchez nuptials has already attracted huge controversy with protests planned by locals angry at the couple for 'taking over the city' for the planned three day festivities. A team of former US marines has already been hired to provide security for the event by Bezos, which is due to take place over three days from June 26 in the iconic lagoon city. The original plan was for a huge party at the Scuola Grande della Misericordia on Saturday night but it has now been moved to another venue in the Arsenale area of the city, according to local media. Il Gazzettino said the days leading to wedding would be 'tension filled' and the move to the venue was due to it being 'easier to control' as large scale protests are expected. But they also added 'the winds of war and rising global tensions between the US and Iran ' were also being taken into consideration - there is a large American airbase at Aviano just 50 miles away. On Tuesday a meeting is due to take place between local authorities and police and security teams to discuss the wedding which has been greeted with fury by many Venetians. The wedding is being organised by London based planners Lanza and Baucina who were not immediately available for comment. On its website the firm describes itself as 'leaders in global event, creation, design and management'. It adds:'With experience ranging from royal and A list celebrity weddings to ground breaking productions in extraordinary and uncharted locations. 'Established in 2000 we have worked on every continent and are responsible for masterminding the world's most exclusive private and spectacular parties. 'Discretion is paramount to us. We have no social media presence and no examples of previous work are published.' The company were behind the wedding of George and Amal Clooney in 2014. Bezos, 61, is the world's third richest person with an estimated with of $221 billion and is the founder of Amazon and space tech firm Blue Origin. Hundreds of high-profile guests including members of the Trump family, Katie Perry, Oprah Winfrey and Kim Kardashian are expected to attend and the wedding will take over the island of San Giorgio opposite the iconic St Mark's Square. Campaign group No Space for Bezos has organised a huge protest for next Saturday with demonstrators being encouraged to bring googles and inflatables so they can dive into canals and disrupt taxis ferrying guests. On its social media the group says: 'Jeff Bezos and his clique of super rich people are not welcome in Venice' adding that the city cannot be 'a showcase for the elite'. Conversely a pro Bezos campaign group called 'Yes, Venice can' has formed in recent days welcoming the wedding for bringing funds and publicity to the city. A source at Venice City Council told MailOnline: 'The provision has been made for a venue change but this is a private matter, and a final decision will be made at the last minute. 'It all depends on the level of protest and the Arsenale is a much easier area to secure as it is walled off and enclosed.'

'You dope!' - Troy Deeney tells Bruno Fernandes to 'smash' Man Utd teammate

Troy Deeney has told Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes to 'smash' Alejandro Garnacho in training after he posed in another club's shirt. Garnacho is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer and has attracted interest from Serie A champions Napoli and Premier League club Chelsea. The Argentine was once was of the most highly-rated players at the club but he endured a frustrating 2024-25 season before being told by Ruben Amorim that he was free to leave. Garnacho is currently on holiday in Ibiza and risked the wrath of Manchester United fans by posting a picture on social media of him wearing Marcus Rashford's Aston Villa shirt. Rashford and Garnacho were United teammates for years before the England international joined Villa on loan in January. Another player who has been deemed surplus to requirements, Rashford has held talks with Aston Villa over a permanent transfer but is still 'dreaming' of a move to Barcelona. Ex-Premier League striker Deeney slammed Garnacho for posing in another club's shirt and said he would 'smash' the 20-year-old in training if he was United captain Fernandes. 'Did you see that picture of Garnacho wearing the Rashford Villa shirt on holiday? The guy is an absolute wind-up,' talkSPORT presenter Shebahn Aherne said. 'Why would you not try to fall into line when you're trying to make your way back into the manager's good books? 'That's the most immature thing I've seen from Garnacho. It's so immature. I didn't think you'd get that from Garnacho. 'What are you doing? Why are you trying to wind everyone up and wind up the club that's paying your wages?' Deeney then said: 'They obviously think they've got a move lined up. It's a new generation so I've got to be careful not to sound like the old, grumpy man. 'But he needs a clip around the ear. Give him a clip around the ear. He's bored and has got no respect. 'If it was me at United, if I was Fernandes, I'd wait until he came back and smash him in training. I genuinely would. 'I'm not even trying to make headlines, I'd smash him and say to him, 'this is Man United, who do you think you are you little dope?'' IN: OUT: Victor Lindelof Christian Eriksen Jonny Evans POTENTIAL INCOMINGS: Bryan Mbeumo Viktor Gyokeres Emiliano Martinez LIKELY OUTGOINGS: Alejandro Garnacho Marcus Rashford Jadon Sancho Antony Rasmus Hojlund Like Garnacho and Rashford, Fernandes was also heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford earlier in the summer transfer window. The Portugal midfielder was offered a lucrative contract to join the Saudi Pro League but decided to reject the approach in favour of staying at Manchester United. United legend Gary Neville named Garnacho as one of four players he expects to leave the club following the arrival of £62.5m signing Matheus Cunha from Wolves. More Trending Discussing Garnacho's situation, Neville said: 'I think if players are taking on the manager and if players are questioning the manager in public through social media or through other means, the manager has to win. 'If the manager doesn't win, the manager has to leave and I don't think that's going to happen this time. That's happened far too many times before. 'I think Garnacho will leave purely because of that, I think they've had enough. Garnacho can play in the Premier League, no doubt, but I think he'll love it in Spain, he'll thrive over there, he'll score goals. 'He'll probably be someone next season that we're all looking back on thinking, 'Why didn't Manchester United keep him?', that type of thing will probably happen, there's an element of that, but I think he has to go.'
