2 dead, 5 injured after Tesla driver runs red light and crashes into OCTA bus in Fullerton, police say
Two people were killed and five others were injured when the driver of a Tesla ran a red light and slammed into a pickup truck and a passenger bus in Fullerton on Saturday morning, police said.
The crash happened at around 6:45 a.m. near Orangethrope Avenue and State College Boulevard, according to the Fullerton Police Department.
They say that a white 2018 Tesla Model 3 traveling eastbound on Orangethorpe "drove through the intersection on a red light" and collided with the passenger side of a 1991 Toyota pickup truck and the side of an Orange Country Transportation Authority bus.
Arriving officers found the truck with "moderate" damage north of the intersection, the Tesla with "significant front-end damage" in the intersection and the bus with moderate damage to the driver side, the FPD release said.
Paramedics declared the female passenger of the Tesla dead at the scene. The driver was rushed to a nearby hospital where he also died, police said.
Five of the bus passengers were also hospitalized with minor injures, they noted.
"At this stage of the investigation, it is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a contributing factor related to the driver." police said.
Both the driver of the Toyota and the OCTA bus remained at the scene to cooperate with the investigation.

Memphis Reporter OK After Being Carjacked in Company Car
A WREG reporter is OK after he was was carjacked at gunpoint at a gas station on Tuesday morning. The Memphis CBS affiliate said it happened around 10:30 a.m. on a busy corner just about a mile east of WREG's studio and offices. The suspect got away with the Toyota and the camera gear inside. There was no WREG logo on the side, but the number 19 is on the bottom right bumper of the vehicle. The tag number is BHM 6360.

1 killed in Kent hit-and-run crash
A 26-year-old is accused of fleeing the scene in a deadly crash in Kent Monday night. Washington State Patrol said the 26-year-old was driving his Tesla on northbound I-5, just north of SR 516, and was driving in 'all lanes.' That driver hit the rear of another driver going in the same direction. The second vehicle hit a guardrail on the right. The causing driver is facing charges of felony hit-and-run. The 61-year-old passenger in the second vehicle died from her injuries. The driver of that vehicle was uninjured.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A WREG News Channel 3 reporter was carjacked at gunpoint at a gas station Tuesday morning. It happened around 10:30 at the Mobil gas station at E.H. Crump Boulevard and Third Street, on a busy corner just about a mile east of WREG's studio and offices. A man approached reporter Mike Suriani while he was on assignment and demanded his news vehicle, a white 2016 Toyota RAV4. Suriani said he was at a gas pump and got out of the vehicle when a man wearing a mask approached from the sidewalk and shouted to give him the car keys. The man had his hand on a gun that was sticking out of his pocket. Suriani handed over the keys and the man drove off southbound on Third Street. The reporter was unhurt. The suspect got away with the Toyota with camera gear inside. There was not a WREG logo on the side, but the number 19 is on the bottom right bumper of the vehicle. The tag number is BHM 6360. Police described the suspect as a male with a dark complexion, possibly 6 feet tall, wearing a black head scarf, white jacket, gray shirt and black pants.
