18-year-old arrested in connection to deadly shooting at West Jordan party

WEST JORDAN, Utah () — A second suspect was arrested in connection to a that left a 19-year-old dead.
Vincent Caleb Vasquez, 18, was arrested Friday on one count of obstruction of justice — capital/first degree felony conduct, which is a second-degree felony.

According to arrest documents, Vasquez is accused of helping another suspect — Tayden Huntsman, 19, who was — get rid of a weapon and make arrangements to leave town.
Officials with the West Jordan Police Department said the shooting happened at a party on March 9. At the scene, authorities found Hugo Lucero, 19, with a gunshot wound, and Lucero was later pronounced deceased.
After executing search warrants on Huntsman's cell phone and social media accounts, authorities discovered that Huntsman was communicating with Vasquez after the incident. Vasquez is said to be the 'known leader' of a gang, and Hunstman is 'documented as a gang member,' according to an affidavit of probable cause.
Documents said that, on the day of the shooting, Vasquez 'exchanged messages through text and social media with [Huntsman] instructing him to throw the firearm that was used in the incident in a river.' Vasquez also allegedly offered to get money for Huntsman to 'get him out of the state.'
Vasquez was taken into custody on Friday while reportedly attending Huntsman's detention hearing at a Salt Lake City courthouse.
After he was taken into custody, Vasquez allegedly denied getting money to help Huntsman leave town. Vasquez said he had asked friends for funds 'with the intent to give money to [Huntsman] to help him, but was unsuccessful.
Vasquez reportedly admitted to telling Huntsman to get rid of the weapon, but said he didn't know whether Huntsman had done so. Vasquez was booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail on the aforementioned charge.

YPD, OSHP, find guns, marijuana in cars that were part of chase investigation
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Reports said police and state troopers Wednesday found guns and marijuana in two cars that were recovered during a high-speed chase Tuesday. The cars, which were in a city impound at 703 Wilson Ave., were seized after a man was arrested following a chase about 11 p.m. Monday that ended after the driver went to a building in the 1100 block of Andrews Ave and parked there. In the building, police found a Jeep heavily damaged by gunfire that had two guns inside in plain view and a dodge Charger that had a large amount of marijuana inside. Police had the cars towed and got a search warrant to search them Wednesday in the impound lot. Inside the Jeep, officers found an AR-15 pistol and a 9mm handgun. Inside the Charger, police found several packs of marijuana edibles, packages of marijuana in small and bulk size and five packs of disposal THC vape pens, reports said. The man who led police on the chase, Derrian Thomas, was arraigned Wednesday in municipal court and is free after posting $7,500 bond. He is due for a preliminary hearing June 18. Frankfort man tased, accused of kicking police after he called for help
FRANKFORT, Ky. (FOX 56) — Frankfort police arrested a man for allegedly attacking them after he called for help late Monday. Police said the distress call came just before midnight on June 9, when a man called for help before abruptly hanging up. When officers arrived at the home in the 100 block of Pickett Avenue, a woman in the home said Thomas Burton, 36, had been drinking. In an arrest citation, officers noted this was the second time someone had been called to the home that night. As they went to leave, Burton reportedly began yelling at the officers, and he was heard three houses down, the citation noted. Person of interest in deadly Orange Mound shooting identified
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A photo has been released of a person of interest in a shooting that killed a man at a convenience store in Orange Mound last week. On June 2, officers say they responded to a shooting call at Save-A-Stop 1 on 1461 Pendleton Street, where a man was found on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Second arrest made in Hickory Hill gas station shooting Investigators say video footage showed the man was involved in a verbal argument with a man, later identified as 'Ray Ray', before the shooting. They say the video captured 'Ray Ray' going around to the south side of the store, which was out of camera view. The victim is then seen walking around the corner of the store with an unidentified woman wearing a green shirt and black pants, also walking the same way as 'Ray Ray.' After the shooting, police say 'Ray Ray' was seen getting into a white, 4-door Chrysler 300 with a black hood, and leaving the scene going westbound on Deadrick Avenue.
