Extramarks unveils ‘Extra Intelligence' to redefine teaching and learning with AI-Powered tools
With the launch of Extra Intelligence, Extramarks has emerged as one of the first education companies to integrate AI meaningfully across the school ecosystem — from the classroom to after-school learning, a press statement issued by the firm informed.

Ritvik Kulshrestha, MD & CEO of Extramarks, said that through Extra Intelligence, the company is putting powerful, accessible AI directly in the hands of teachers and students.
'This is not just about automation; it's about elevating pedagogy, improving outcomes, and making high-quality education scalable and inclusive across geographies,' he added.
Among the many features include the Teacher Assistant — a tool that has been specifically designed to personalize the classroom experience.
The Teacher Assistant tool enables educators to easily tailor digital lessons to their unique teaching style by adding real-world context, inserting custom examples, and delivering concepts through rich, animated, and interactive content, the statement pointed out.
It also enables teachers to generate collaborative activities on the fly, turning traditional lessons into engaging group experiences that foster teamwork, participation, and collective learning with the help of AI.

Additionally, Extra Intelligence will also aid teachers to create cheating-resistant tests that are conducted in the traditional pen-and-paper format, yet evaluated entirely through AI.
Simply put, after students submit their handwritten responses, the system automatically evaluates every answer with precision, meaning it can help teachers grade students within minutes, and helping them focus on teaching and improving student learning outcomes.
Extra Intelligence will also help teachers in schools across the world to deliver online classes, with real-time, AI-based engagement tracking built right in.
Through AI, student responses, participation, questions asked, and even classroom disruptions or inactivity will be monitored, which will offer a holistic view of both student attentiveness and teaching effectiveness.
Extra Intelligence also offers instant doubt resolution to students, whether it's on a particular question which the student has to attempt or while watching one of the thousands of academic videos hosted in the Extramarks digital library.

Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of the renowned watch brand, Rolex, was an alleged Nazi spy, having strong sympathies for Adolf Hitler's regime, a report in The Telegraph has claimed. Citing previously classified documents at the National Archives, the report states that secret service agents wanted Wilsdorf blacklisted owing to his allegiances. The World War II papers, stamped with MI5's civil service nickname, "Box 500", dating between 1941 and 1943, describe Wilsdorf as "most objectionable" and "suspected of espionage". Despite his status as a naturalised British citizen, the papers suggest that MI5 viewed Wilsdorf as a potential threat to Allied interests during World War II. "Wilsdorf and his wife are majority shareholders, and he is suspected of espionage on behalf of the enemy," the report from 1943 highlighted. A 1941 letter from the Blacklist Section of the Ministry of Economic Warfare stated it was desirable to review blacklisting Wilsdorf, but noted it may not be in the best interests at the moment. Wilsdorf's blacklisting may have hurt Rolex and a large amount of overseas trade with the Empire countries, the papers revealed. The papers also suggest that Wilsdorf's offer of free Rolex watches to British prisoners of war (POWs) may have been motivated by publicity rather than patriotism. 'The fact Rolex offered watches to Allied POWs in German camps suggested Wilsdorf was on the right side of history,' Jose Perez, a horological historian who discovered the existence of the MI5 file told the publication. 'But, I believe it was a stunt to gain favour with the British government. It must also be considered that from 1941 to 1946, the import of Swiss watches to the UK was basically prohibited, so this might have been the proverbial killing of two birds with one stone: gain favour with the British and sell some watches in the process, even though payment was only due after the war.' Rolex responds Responding to the allegations, Rolex said it was well aware of the file in the National Archives and had constituted a team of historians for further research. 'Given the sensitivity of these allegations, we have already commissioned an independent, authoritative team of historians who are carrying out research into the exact role of Hans Wilsdorf during this period,' a spokesperson said. Wilsdorf was born in Bavaria in 1881, but his parents died shortly afterwards. He landed in England in 1903, which at the time had virtually no formal immigration controls. Wilsdorf started making watches in Hatton Garden before registering the name Rolex and marrying British-born Florence Crotty. In 1919, he shifted the company headquarters to Geneva, Switzerland. Wilsdorf died in 1960, leaving his ownership stake in Rolex to the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation, which continues to own the company and supports charitable causes.

Apple updates Support App terms, hints at AI chatbot launch
Apple has updated its website with Terms of Use for the Support Assistant, reports MacRumours. This comes after reports that the iPhone maker is developing an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot for its Apple Support app . The update page says that the feature will be a chat tool similar to ChatGPT. It will use generative AI to give customers answers to their questions about different Apple products and services. The page mentions that users will be able to provide input to Support Assistant and receive corresponding output from Support Assistant based on such inputs, collectively called 'chats'. 'Support Assistant is intended for technical support purposes only, and can provide you with answers related to certain Apple products and services,' the page states. 'Do not use Support Assistant for emergency may interact with Support Assistant for lawful and appropriate purposes only,' it warns. Notably, the company has updated its Support app on July 15. But it is yet to launch the AI-powered Support Assistant. The MacRumours report says that the feature will likely be initially available in the U.S. only. Google renames Gemini assistant voices for Nest devices ahead of major AI upgrade
Google has renamed most of the new voices for its Gemini-powered Assistant on Nest devices. The change comes after Google introduced three new voices in June as part of the Gemini Assistant update for Nest Mini and Nest Audio. Although many names have changed, the voices themselves remain largely the same. HT Image Voice Name Changes For users in the Public Preview program, six out of ten voice names received updates. The new names continue the botanical theme but appear more familiar. For example, "Ivy" was renamed "Violet," which carries a more positive association. "Verbena" changed to "Magnolia," a name likely more recognised by users. However, "Eucalyptus" replaced "Calathea," a switch that may not affect many since "Eucalyptus" is a better-known term. Users report that the voices sound very similar across both old and new sets. Google allows listeners to compare the voices to hear the differences themselves. Recently, Google teased upcoming improvements to Google Assistant aimed at addressing reliability issues. These enhancements are expected to come with Gemini's broader rollout, possibly marking the end of the "Google Assistant" brand. Initially, Google seemed to keep the Assistant brand for Home devices, but with Gemini coming to Google TV, the shift toward rebranding is clear.
